Are you a mom in Southern California with a kid whose name ends with -ee, -ey, -eigh, -yn and/or includes x, y or z? Here's how your life is going to turn out.

At age 2 you sign up your kid to OCPAA, where she debuts her first solo at age 5. However, at age 9-11 you and/or your kid realizes that a) you ooutgrew the choreo like 2 years ago, and b) that conventions are the place to be. Therefore, you audition to Project 21 and make your debut the following season.

You are living the convention kid dream. However, somewhere in your kid's teen years after achieving the left or right back spot in a trio combo at best, and doing roughly 0,5 solos at full studio comps, you start doubting your choices again. This is where the 3 directions appear:

your kid expresses that it's too much and wants to just do hs dance. Well luckily you've signed your kid up for OCSA so the dance options are vast.

your kid wants to do contemporary and ballet instead, but Ylab is not giving the ballet experience you want and your contemporary teacher changes like every blink of the eye. Because of this you and your kid decide to go to Westside (which is somehow still not dead) and DKCBA.

your kid still wants to comp dance but just not with Molly. You sign her up for Mather instead, where she gets to live the lyrical life.

At the end your kid probably goes to UCLA or USC Kaufman, or Juilliard if they're really good

YAGP updated their scholarship document and Ellary day’s full year scholarship is indeed to the Alberta Ballet School in Canada like I said in my anon a few weeks ago.

Toxic Studio alert

Now I'm not going to name the studio because I was not on team but was on rec. I started dancing there in 2020 and let me says the minis during that time were amazing so it's not that suprising that they got moved to the junior group in 2021. But looking back I noticed some key things that made me realized there's favoritism going on at the studio

The minis now were not at the same level the minis were when I started. I think that the minis in 2020 got lucky because their team was smaller since it was covid so the teachers could spend more time with them when they wouldn't have because of number 2.

The owner of the studio has a daughter. Her daughter is amazing so I will give her credit but the teachers also giver so much attention to her and to her group which makes the younger kids look like they are from a different studio.

They don't care about older rec kids. Especially older ones who want to go on team. The company director for my age group taught a rec class with mostly comp kids. Whenever I asked how I did she was like good. She did not give me any corrections even when I knew I was doing something wrong. She would also just call out the same kids for corrections and praise.

Some ways I would change the studio would be having a pro team. The pro team can go to all the conventions like radix. Which they started doing for only the teens and seniors. It would also help because then the company team don't have to go the conventions so it wouldn't look like the teens and seniors are the only ones that are placing.

Also I noticed that a lot of prominent members left which is suprising because they usually have maybe one or two leave. Not around 6.

I did transform again and the mather kids are so nice. I also watched the show and it made me a huge mather fan. There dances are age appropiate. I also have a question, if Shannon is anti lgbt+ how do blake and shannon get along?
