It’s difficult to avoid it all together, for sure. The best thing I can offer is to try to be more aware of when you’re doing it. It helps me, because then I can check myself and assure myself that I’m exactly where i need to be and life is a different journey for all of us.

(Idk why this idea made me laugh so much, but I’m sharing it now with all of you lol)

(1/2) So sorry to bother you but I have a g/t sanders sides idea that will not leave my head and I want to know what people (mainly you) think of it before I actually do anything with it. Humans Janus and Patton are Dad Friends™️ and Janus suggests that Patton’s son Virgil and Janus’ twin boys should have a play date. One problem though, Virgil is a borrower.

(2/3) After some convincing from J, Patton agrees, but he’s still very nervous because he knows how rowdy Roman and Remus can be, and he’d never forgive himself if his tiny dark son got hurt. They come over and Virgil is just as nervous as Patton about meeting the twins. Both he and Patton expect them to be loud and rough like they are when they’re playing with other humans.

(3/3) Soon after introductions the twins get straight into a pretend game of knights, princes, and monsters with V, and they are surprisingly gentle. First game Virgil was the prince in the tower, being rescued by Roman from the monster Remus. They originally planned for all the games to be cast like that, but after a couple Virgil admits that he would like to be the knight. The twins happily agree. Cue many many scenes of Remus surrendering to ‘Sir Vee the Brave’ while Pat and Jan cheer along.

 (Sorry it took me a bit to get to this ask) Okay, this is the cutest thing. The fact that the twins are actually really gentle with Virgil and listen to him and everything just warms my heart. I also love the idea of Patton and Janus being dad friends. If you end up doing anything with this idea please tag me in it! I would love to read it.

Logan found himself grateful that he’d made arrangements to postpone their other jobs for a bit, because it looked as though they’d be staying firmly on this planet’s surface for a while.

There had been all of one attempt to bring Virgil aboard the Mindscape, and it had resulted in a significant amount of crying from both the child and Patton. Whatever circumstances had led the Human to this planet, it had left them deeply fearful of any sort of spacefaring vessel.

A Dragon’s Prince | 2

Part One

Warnings: Swearing, blood, injuries, fear, anxious thoughts, arguing.

Characters: Virgil, Roman

Word count: 5002 words

A‌ few days had passed. They had remained just as uneventful as the first one had been and Virgil watched sunset after sunset. Each and every day that brought those fading hues across the sky chipped away a little more of his resolve.

Life in the cave wasn’t…bad, necessarily. It was far from easy and certainly far from comfortable, but he was still alive, so that counted for something.

Of course, he’d still tried to escape when the dragon’s back was turned, but each attempt gifted the same response. He was snagged by the back of his tunic, hefted up and carried right back over toward the dragon’s bed. Once there, he was kept pinned in place until he quit fighting. It never took long before Virgil tired himself out and eventually ended up giving in.
