They reach for @ilstar, grasping, as eyes bear into him.  The emanator's wrist is twisted to near fracture in her grip.  The vessel of Destruction pins him down on a sunless planets soil (the grass long dried up,) face to face. 

     “    of course i   don't,    ”    confirmatory   as   though   it   was   something   to   be   modest   about    –    acknowledgment   of   a   great   achievement   that   he   will   shirk   away   from,    politely,       before   relinquishing   the   formality   :    because   here   he   is,    all   the   same,    expression   contorted   with   indecision   between   the   grimace   their   force   commands   and   a   smile,    smug   and   complacent,    exposed   only   through   the   ugly   twist   of   a   mouth   corner.   more   up   his   sleeve   than   the   futile   writhing   against   her   restraint    …    though   the   pained   grunt   is   real   when   they   slam   him   back,    down   against   brittle   ground,    delorean   settles   into   his   trap   again   all   too   easily.    “    what   could   ever   survive   here?    ”   

 an   unknown   accusation,    a shot in the dark, because   they   speak   with   too   much   conviction,    deny   him   with   such   certainty.   this   is   a   stroke   of   luck.

palms   pressed   flat   against   the   balcony,   leaning   faintly   over   to   gaze   across   the   quiet   stretch   of   mountain   below    –    without   direction,   but   plenty   conviction.    “  acheron.    ”    he   shouldn’t   try   to   parse   sense   from   the   afterlife:   it   may   have   been   a   brief   pause   in   her   journey,    perhaps   already   moving   forward   to   the   next   destination   –   or   a   mere   fragment   of   his   imagination   like   the   rest   …   but   he’d   seen   what   she   was   capable   of   first   hand,    proof   it’s in   the   realm   of   possibility   that   acheron   could   cut   through   the   boundary   and   undertake   amphoreus.   

only   the   wind   responds   and   caelus  acquiesces   that   there’s   no   logic   behind   this   venture,   posture   straightening, awkward.   it’s   still   worth   a   try.     “   are   you   … here?   ”

pier   point   doesn’t   honour   him   with   any   alarms,   weaving   endless   corridors   to   the   sound   of   his   own   footfall   until   he’d   lost   the grunts   on   his   heels   as   well   as   any   solid   sense   of   direction   :   edging   round   a   corner,   the   press   of   metal still   against   his   palm   when   they   locked   eyes   and   raised   at   greg   in   the   seconds   it   takes   him   to register   …   that’s   the   same   overtaxed   expression,   but the   dress   shirt  is   a   new   development    –       had   he   thought an   old   friend   was   still   out   there somewhere, the   ipc   wasn’t   the   first   place   he   would   look,   if   even   on   the   list.   there’s   no   one   else   around.   it’s   a   snap   decision,   gun   lowered   as   soon   as   he   notes   a   shift   of   recognition   and   pulling   him   forcefully   though   the   nearest   door. 

vante   bows.   it’s   performative.   silly,   elicited   from   an   awkward   uncertainty   and   the   time   constraint   to   shake   it   off   –   but   smooth,  learned   and   retained   in   a   way   that   only he   might   catch.    “    of   all   the   gin   joints   … huh?   ”    avoidant   gaze   wanders   the   office,   lingers   on   files   and   tech   laid   out   on   the   desk,   but   he   calls   his   attention   back   to   the   hitch   in   his   plans.    “   you’re   …   ”    what?   going   to   show   him   the   way   out of   here?   going   to   call   for   help,   or   decide   to   incapacitate   vante   himself?   he wouldn’t   blame   him   for   doing   so,   wary   distance   maintained   between   the   two,   but   something overrules   his   better   judgement   and   the   guilt   that   weighs   in   on   him   alike.      “   it’s a   relief to   see   you   again.   honestly    –    i   assumed,   you   know.   "    the   worst.

MISS   ACHERON,   BUDDY   OL'   PAL   …   !!!    this   one   looks   pretty   barebones   because   we   already   know   it's   something   very   platonic.   i   can't   imagine   there   being   anything   antagonistic   about   their   dynamic   in   present   times.   i   think   that   with   acheron   being   someone   very   powerful   and   elusive   there   are   two   things   that   spring   to   mind,   one   being   that   caelus   would   like   to   have   had   a   little   longer   to   get   to   know   her,   and   will   certainly   jump   on   the   chance   to   spend   more   time   with   acheron    –    the   other   being   that   i   think   he   responds   to   her   in   a   very   relaxed   way.   mysterious   drifter?   suspicious   galaxy   ranger,   you   say?   that's   his   good   friend   acheron.   also!   something   i'm   a   little   behind   on,   and   would   def   like   to   talk   about   more   is   the   references   made   to   hi3   regarding   that   slight   familiarity   between   them,   while   it   doesn't   inform   their   entire   dynamic   in   this   iteration,   it's   still   v   interesting   to   me   :)

okay   so   the   thing   with   these   two   is   that   i   think    …    subjectively,    they   could   get   along   fairly   well   (?) and i'm drawn to boothill's character story that references an emanator of elation as a fun detail to consider.   but   i   can   also   foresee   so   many   ways   that   they   might   clash.   pestering   anyone   aligned   with   the   hunt   is   something delorean   would delight   in   because   his   enjoyment   of   chase   and   pursuit   is   so   intense,    and   he   doesn't   discriminate   between   which   role   he   likes   to   play.   he   would   quite   like   to   goad   boothill a little,    actually.   with   someone   as   seriously   goal   oriented   as   him,    delorean   would   essentially   just   be   invested   in   wasting   his   time    —    i think his only saving grace is the fact that he doesn't like to pick literal fights   and   boothill   is   naturally   someone   he   would   be    …    aware   of   the   risks   he's   running   with,    but   he's still going to be a   nuisance   dkjghdgd
