Tumblr media
Eyes are a matter of great concern for all, thus it must be protected with a lot of care. One can only understand the importance of eyes once people develop faulty eyesight. In that light, Dr. Lucas Lamadrid came up with some very interesting tips for eye care,
Recently, Dr. Lucas Lamadrid attended a workshop for budding photographers in the UK and highlighted the importance of eye care for photographers.
Though eyes are of great importance to all, when an individual’s profession comes to depend on eyesight, special care must be taken.
According to Dr. Lucas Lamadrid, eyes are prized possessions for photographers, and with the constant use of the camera, eyes do experience a lot of stress. Thus, it is crucial for photographers to follow basic rules to take care of eyes properly.
Varry Focus:
When a photographer stares at the computer screen for long at home or work, they focus their eyes in a particular direction for long. This creates issues. In order to avoid this put a finger in front of your eyes to shift the focus. Ideally, one can do it 10 times a day for 10 seconds to exercise the eyes, says Dr. Lucas Lamadrid.
Roll Your Eyes:
Dr. Lucas Lamadrid suggests photographers roll their eyes for sometime in different directions. This eases out the pain if any is felt, and helps on stretching of the muscles. Start the exercise by holding the head still. Then start rolling the eyes in different directions thrice. Repeat the exercise after giving it a rest for about 3 to 4 seconds.
Do Hard Blinking:
Hard Blinking allows eyes to cool down and relax. Close your eyes as tight as you can for 2 seconds and then open them after two seconds, says Dr. Lucas Lamadrid. Repeat this 10 times a day. This especially works when a photographer is shooting for long.
Additional Protection:
In addition to the above-mentioned things, a photographer must do some other basic eye, especially after long screen time. Simple things like blinking often can protect your eyes from drying up. When photographers stare at something very intently for very long, they fail to realize that they haven't blinked for long. This is exactly the time when you should be blinking. Make blinking a conscious exercise to protect your eyes.
In addition to all this, protect your eyes against UV rays by wearing protective gears and sunglasses. Sunglasses not only protect the eyes from the sun rays, but also from dust particles and other small elements. In that light, don't shy away from a sunglass on a cloudy day.
Remember that without your eyes you will have nothing, not even your profession.
