Ecuador Opportunity

Last week, Boss Leiah gave my name to somebody looking for people able to work in Ecuador. Today, I got a message from somebody interested in me going. The only issue, currently, is that two days ago, we got a new boss, so now I need his approval as well. I went to urgent care today bc my left preauricular(?) lymph node is swollen to about the size of a small marble. It’s hard and hurts slightly only when pressed on. I don’t have any other symptoms. I noticed on Wednesday and it’s just gotten bigger since. With the $50 copay visit, I now have a prescription for 7 days of antibiotics

On a side note, Christopher and I went to Walmart afterwards, picked up some discount valentines flowers, two 12-lb dumbbells, an ultra-heavy resistance band, and some ribbon to hold my craft boxes together, and are now in the Starbucks drive through

Yesterday, Christopher and I planned to make BLTs for dinner. So while I was working (read:napping) at home, he went to the store to pick up ingredients.

Unfortunately, instead of picking up lettuce, Christopher brought home cabbage. (It said “cabbage” right on the bag.) I don’t even know what to make with cabbage.

I sent him back to the store for lettuce. He proceeded to buy the vegetable “with the lettuce 79c sign next to it.”

He gets back home. It’s ALSO CABBAGE

I then go to the store with him and the 79c lettuce sign that he referenced? WAS A 79c GREEN CABBAGE SIGN.

Now we have two heads of cabbage and I’m begging for recipes

((I should have been tipped off when he asked if I wanted the purple or green lettuce… I thought it was a joke))

Finally got a new prescription for Adderall. It’s been a year. It’s nice to be able to have the ability do stuff again. This time I’m doing my best to take my adderall every single day (so far it’s been 3) and hopefully my life will be slowly put back together.

I’ve heard people talk before of recent pills being less “potent” than before, and so far, I feel like that’s true. One of the days I took an old pill of mine, and I felt it so much more. I don’t know if I’m going to ask to up the dose.

I’m just glad I have it. (And sad I need it)

Christopher went to a charity event with his coworker, Cristabel, on Tuesday while I was at dinner with the other engineers and she told him a wild thing

I had met some of his coworkers when he first started working there at this booth in the park thing. Anyways, from that meeting another one of his coworkers (Crystal) thought that I was “obviously trans.”

This is ridiculous for many reasons including the fact that I’m not trans. I also don’t look even a little trans. There is no ambiguity in any of me. I’m not tall, I’m not bulky, I don’t have an Adam’s Apple, I’m thin, I have curves and a waist, etc (I do know that trans people can pass really well, and that they’re indistinguishable from cis people but there was no indication that that is me, either)

Anyways, she took it upon herself to tell all of Christopher’s coworkers that I was trans.

I feel really offended by that. To be clear, I’m not offended that she thinks I’m trans. Trans people are hot as hell and honestly I wish I could pass for a guy sometimes. I’m offended because she thought I was trans AND DECIDED TO OUT ME TO EVERYBODY. My transness (or lack thereof) is my business and nobody else’s. If I was trans, that would be such an awful and rude thing to do. And she obviously did it to be mean. It was mean-spirited.

Anyways, Cristabel obviously had heard this from her but when she met me at a party that she was throwing she was like ??? because of the above. So she ended up telling Christopher what she had heard and he told me

After never effectively being in the closet since I came out to myself, it’s hard to be in the closet at work

Coworkers show me pictures of men and I’m like *sweats* idk whether I should think they’re hot or not

They’ve said vaguely homophobic things like “I don’t have anything against them, but it’s annoying that they’re in everything” when seeing any pride-related things

Honestly, stop making being straight your entire personality Maegan it’s boring

Alejandra and I had just gone to the Applebee’s across the parking lot and gotten rained on. Good thing we’re not stuck in there instead

Went on on my first (and second) real scuba dive today and the experience was so much better than I expected.

We saw two sea turtles and a few flounders and a tiny jellyfish and some pufferfish and some barracuda and queenfish angelfish and parrotfish and tabacco basslets (i think they look like tiny cowboys) and eels and so many other things aaaaaa it was so cool

I held on to mom for most of it to help her out with buoyancy and it helped keep me more aware of my buoyancy too

Dive master is pretty cool and so is the boat captain
