oh no donāt be sad! I havenāt had time to do art lately, I hope Iāll be less busy soon! I miss drawing and writing posts about my little knights too...
Not an unexpected way to start one of my posts, I know. BUT! I was checking Nexo Knights on Tubi just some minutes ago and I realized something... odd. Like the cool kind of odd. Now ā I donāt know if thereās a post about this already. I feel like there probably is, I havenāt checked the Nexo Knights tag in months (iām saving posts for later, hehe), but this seemed too cool to not make a post about it.
Anyway! Yes, I was checking the season 4 episodes when I noticed something strange about one of the episodes: namely ā pun intended ā episode 8, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, or as the site likes to call it,Ā āIron Grip.ā
Warning ā lots of text ahead!
So, wrong name. I didnāt really understand why a streaming site would have a different name until I read the episode description. And this is where things get really interesting:
...yeah. No, thatās... not what happens in the episode. This feels ā and, well, is. This definitely is an early synopsis for the episode. Thatās weird, right? Itās so weird that a streaming site would use an early synopsis for something, together with an early title (or it is to me at east, I havenāt seen it happen before).
I was curious about this synopsis, so I googled it and ended up finding it being used on Hoopla too, where I noticed another interesting thing: the description for season 4.
Another early synopsis, now for a whole season! This one mentions Wanda asĀ āMerganaā too, as well asĀ āDebrinaā instead of Ruina. Early names! How cool is that? It also mentions Ava 2.0! We know she was going to be in season 5 but now we know she was planned for season 4. I justā this is all so cool and Iām super excited about having found it!Ā
Moving on! Hoopla has the same descriptions as Tubi. Itās mostly the same stories from the episodes with a few things changed (my favorite being Macy getting Clay to turn good again, when in the final episode itās Lance. Clance prevails) until episode 8. These are the descriptions for episodes 9 and 10:
(I really like the bit about Clay deciding to come back to the knights instead of magically turning good again and the knights being his family instead of Ruina).
(I like theĀ āKnightmares Teamā thing. ThatĀ āde-feetā pun is painful.)
Thatās the most interesting stuff I found! Like I said, the rest of the episodes are mostly the same stories with a few different things. I canāt include them here since it would make the post too long, but they are worth checking out, I think. You can find them on Tubi, or on the Hoopla site if youāre not from the US or donāt feel like using a VPN. Now Iāll go check the rest of the episode descriptions, hehehe!
I rewatched this scene because I like torturing myself and made two little gifs of the parts that hurt me the most from it ā the deep regret on Merlokās face after Macy asks if he never told Clay about his mother, then him crying as he apologizes to Clay
You know, even as an important part of the main cast, Merlok stays as a pretty comedic character throughout the show... which makes moments like this, at least to me, hit a lot harder. You just learned that he lost his sister to dark magic and is losing his nephew too, and you can tell he feels guilty for not having been able to save them. It breaks my heart
(also a little detail I noticed from this scene: Ava shaking her head at the clueless knights as she prepares Merlokās digitized memories for his story. Itās funny to think that, as the one in charge of rebuilding his memory every time it gets blasted, she most likely knew about this before everyone else did)
do you think clay thinks about all the things he couldāve prevented if only he had known he had magic from the start. anyway happy saturday or friday
Merlok didnāt keep the books just because he thought he could understand evil like itās said in the season 2 finale. Because, honestly, he had more than enough reasons to want Monstrox gone for good. He discovered Forbidden Powers, sought to destroy the kingdom with his monsters, turned Merlokās little sister evil. So why didnāt he destroy him when he had the chance?
I was questoning the logic behind this decision when I realized: thatās exactly why he didnāt. Montrox had done something to Wanda, and Merlok knew he was the only one who could revert it. He held precious information for Merlok, and so he couldnāt risk to destroy him, whether he liked it or not. So instead he turned him into a book, in hopes that that way he would be able to find the knowledge he needed to help his sister.
There was another one on tiermaker already, but I wanted to make one that included all the characters (or at least the ones that I think are a little relevant... and have names). I didnāt include all of them on my list, but if you go to the templateĀ youāll find more characters. Thereās pics for different forms of characters too (like gray knight Clay and book Monstrox), and pics that are for species(?) in general (like squirebots or gargoyles)
It was hard categorizing these characters based on how much I like them! Mostly because I love them all, but also because Iām not sure how I feel about some of them (Monstrox is the tier he is because itās true but also kind of as a joke ā if I was a little more serious I think he would go on theĀ āvery good and funā tier, same thing for Aaron)
Feel free to tell me if thereās any characters I should add!
Good news!! I just found out who Clayās father is
(JUST KIDDING. REEX IS NOT CLAYāS DAD. I HOPE)
Today onĀ āthings from the show that took me an embarrasingly long time to noticeā: the magic on Clayās arm forms one of the symbols from Ruinaās dress
See you next time withĀ āI only realized Macy had a smaller shield on season 1 when she finally got a different one at the end of the seasonā
