Relationship Truths We Often Forget

1. All successful relationships require some work. They don’t just happen, or maintain themselves. They exist and thrive when the parties involved take the risk of sharing what it is that’s going on in their minds and hearts. Open communication and honesty is the key.

2. Most of the time you get what you put in. If you want love, give love. If you want friends, be friendly. If you’d like to feel understood, try being more understanding. It’s a simple practice that works.

3. You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot in someone’s life. Never force someone to make a space in their life for you. If they know your worth, they will create time and space for you.

4. There is a purpose for everyone you meet. Some will test you; some will teach you; some will threaten you; some will use you. Others will heal you, and help you see your strengths, and help you to discover your authentic self.

5. We all change, and that’s okay. Our needs change with time. When someone says, “You’ve changed,” it’s not always a bad thing. Sometimes it just means you stopped living your life their way. Don’t apologize for it. Instead, be open and sincere, explain how you feel, and keep doing what you know in your heart is right.

6. Forgiving others helps YOU. Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.” It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.” Forgiveness is the answer. It doesn’t mean you’re erasing the past, or forgetting what happened. It means you’re letting go of the resentment and pain, and instead choosing to learn from the incident and move on with your life.

7. You can’t change people; they can only change themselves. Instead of trying to change others, give them your support and lead by example. If there’s a specific behavior someone you love has that you’re hoping disappears over time, it probably won’t. If you really need them to change something, be honest and put all the cards on the table so this person knows what you need them to do.

8. Heated arguments are a waste of time. The less time you spend arguing with the people who hurt you, the more time you’ll have to love the people who love you. And if you happen to find yourself arguing with someone you love, don’t let your anger get the best of you. Give yourself some time to calm down and then gently discuss the situation.

9. You are better off without some people. When you have to start compromising yourself and your morals for the people around you, it’s probably time to change the people around you. If someone continuously mistreats you or pushes you in the wrong direction, have enough respect for yourself to walk away from them. It may hurt for a little while, but it’ll be ok. You’ll be ok, and far better off in the long run.

10. Small gestures of kindness go a long way. Honor your important relationships in some way every chance you get.

✨~ The eleventh house is a gorgeous house, it shows an understanding and focus on the collective and your community itself. It represents what you are to your community and what you do for it. It’s about humanly love and equality, it’s about connection and the bigger picture of people and most importantly, change for society.

It's been 11 days since she threatened me with.fia.. and that's where I drew the line.. I blocked her.. that was uncalled for and very hurtful.. she was abusive beyond comprehension. And I refused to put up with it any longer. Besides shit got very serious.

She tried to repeatedly contact me but I have blocked her from all parts of my life.

Personal rambling. 7 Jan 2021

Happy new year.

I sometimes find it so hard to identify how it is that we can define these boundaries of relationships..for example these various classifications of attachments like da,as etc.

To me it all seems to be grey. Don't understand where one ends and another begins. Especially when you take into account the situation, the emotions and experiences each person has on any given day. I'm sorry if I sound crazy.

But it's hard to put it in a box. What's considered normal ? What behavior is acceptable? What's not? Where the manual to life? What are the rules of the game? Why are they so different for everyone and yet we all want to have some sense of normalcy.

So how does one start with defining normalcy?

Emotions are the hardest to grapple with for me. I was so use to shutting everything down..that by the age of 30 I couldn't understand what I felt. Even the basic emotion of hurt or pain I could not comprehend or relate to yet at the same time I was feeling them.

I spend all of last year infact even before that , from October 2019 in therapy. I changed my therapist in Feb 2020. And now it's almost going to be a while year and Idk if I have anything to show for it.

What is the point of all of this.

Why am I still doing things without a purpose or reason.

Initially I started therapy because was becoming so depressed that there were days I struggled to get out of bed. I stopped going to work. And that's when I decided i need to do something about this.

I can't become dysfunctional.

I still feel lost, I have gained a greater awareness of my emotions but I have yet to navigate a path of processing them.

Instead I start to feel and its like my emotions are bleeding all over the place

I don't understand it, I still feel lost do the most part.

I don't understand my recent behavior.

Since the past few days I have been very active on facebook.

What triggered it was my initial post for help regarding my issue with british council and the exam conditions of the ielts test.

So once I turned to it, it started to get addictive. Waiting for people to respond the anticipation.

I ultimately ended up helping a few people on FB and added a friend from Bhutan and helped him with his essay writing and along with tips on solving reading t f ng questions.

Then I wrote a few random posts helping others with general tips ..and finally now I'm at a stage of picking fights with random strangers on Facebook because I'm sharing my opposing pov which pisses them off.

And I have absolutely no idea why I feel compelled to act out this way.

I have started to feel very lovey dovey with australia ever since she pulled back from me. Giving me space and not calling me repeatedly.

There was an incident that happened a day ago. I felt to elated. One night and the next day I felt so low.. that it frightened me .. I started to think maybe I'm becoming bipolar .. considering how manic my mood swings are getting.

Then today I was tired again.. but anxious because mom was unwell. I didn't sleep all night. Checked on her once.

Then just couldn't sleep. Soon it was time to attend the office meeting which I was dreading.

All I could think about was how much I hate my work and my colleagues and when I asked a question in the presentation one colleague tried to deflect my question and that just pissed me off. And I might have snapped at him a bit for not understanding what I was asking and not answering tht.

I felt such immense anger towards them and I don't understand why.

They didn't do anything. I just didn't want to be there or have anything to do with them.

I'm in physical pain at the moment due to a medical ailments. It's a tad bit embarrassing to admit.

I have tried to self medicate and it may have exaggerating the problem..

Back to my emotional upheaval.

I feel like Im still processing my break up .. I'm still hurting because of it... I hvnt really dealt with it as such.. I just distracted my self by going on tinder.and then I found u. N I told u why I started talking to u.. then I got involved in u ...n u in said u loved me.. I feel like I'm using u or exploiting u...at times.. I do care about u but maybe not as much as u do..... I kn I have alot of emotional shit that I need to deal with right now and I involved u into it.. I don't treat u the way u deserve to be treated. I feel like maybe I'm just with u coz I don't want to face the hurt of the breakup. I don't want to think about my ex or talk to her.. n u keep me busy... I kn I called u begum and I raised ur expectations for us.. and I kn I day dreamed with u of making a life together.. I don't kn y I did all that... I really don't ...
