Hey everyone here is my new drawing for My Hero Academia. It was inspired by a fic from Archive of our Own by HansChristianOersted. The fic is called stardust if anyone wants to check it out. It’s an AU about Uraraka being held hostage by the League after jumping into the portal to save Bakugou during the summer camp arc. Also they’re playing Tekken in the story at this time if anyone wants to know.

Why You Should Be Shipping Shigaraki/Ochako

No, no, hang on a second–I see that side-eye you are throwing hard enough to ruin your peripheral vision. I feel the shade you’re casting like a thundercloud rolling in. But you didn’t read wrong. I meant what I said.

I’ve never made a secret of my love for rare pairs, but for once in my damn lonely shipper’s hellscape of a life I would love it if my favorite crack ship in a fandom had more than two fics (I’m NOT JOKING) to its name.

“Marcy at the gates” was such a perfect episode! I don’t remember when was the last time I’ve seen such a well done character introduction. I love Marcy! She’s an adorable and clumsy nerd who enjoys her stay on Amphibia way too much.

I wonder if the theory that she knew what the box was capable of and planned for them to go to Amphibia is right. Marcy doesn’t seem to be a malicious person, but maybe her curiosity led her to do it without taking into consideration the possible consequences.

We’ve seen how oblivious she is, how she seems to forget her surroundings when she’s excited about something and maybe not realizing other people’s feelings. If she had read or heard something about the box being magical, her thought process probably was “wouldn’t it be cool if we really went to another world?” and not “time to get my friends and I in danger!”

Or maybe Marcy didn’t know anything about the box previously, who knows? I can’t wait to see what happens next! Amphibia is amazing this season!

Marcy at the gates - review

So, the big double episode with Marcy is finally here. For the past week, the fans were anxiously awaiting it, and the creators on twitter only fed those flames hyping the Marcy Week to high heavens.

The question is: was the episode as good as fans hoped…?

OF FLIPPING COURSE IT WAS! IT WAS AMAZING AND A HALF!

The episode was indeed amazing. it introduced Marcy as intelligent, yet clumsy nerd with natural affinity towards gadgets and explosives, differentiating them from feisty and dominant Sasha and often careless, but ultimately noble Anne. 

Also, talk about luck! Marcy gets teleported to another world and instantly spawns in a fortified city and gets chosen to be part of city’s defences. I want to have her RNG. 

It was heart-breaking to see how much Anne was overprotective of her, as she didn’t want to lose her just after their reunion. It was an important lesson of trust in one’s skills, as Marcy, for the first time in her life, perhaps, lives in the world she likes, and where said skills can flourish.

And I couldn’t be happier. We finally have some nice, happy, quiet endin-

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about Anne, Sasha and Marcy as RPG tropes

And her appearance in “Marcy at the gates” has sealed it for me: the three main girls of Amphibia represent three RPG class stereotypes: Warrior, Mage, and Rogue. 

Marcy is wearing a hooded cape

uses long-ranged weapons

often mixed with explosives

which means she knows alchemy

and uses those skills to effortlessly infiltra-

…well, okay, not every roll has to be natural 20. Also, Sprig naturally assumes Marcy would be back-stabbing them.

The point is, Marcy represents the ideal of a Rogue.

What about Sasha?

Well, she wears heavy armor and wields a badass sword. That is a warrior. Yes, her intentions are not noble, (at least not as noble as we would like) but she jumps into fight when occasion arises. And in one of the previous episodes, we have seen her training constantly to enhance her prowess. Plus, she does want to join Grime to CONQUER Newtopia. So, Sasha is a Warrior.

“Now, hold on”, I hear you say in Hop Pop’s voice, “Anne was fighting too!”

And that is true. But let’s face it, swords ain’t her speciality. She is trained to fight with…

uh…

…well, honestly, whatever she has near her and is vaguely wield-able. Unfortunately, the parallels here are a bit weak for a Mage. Because Anne isn’t always the brightest and more than often acts without thinking.

But she does have magic

And she came with a magical artefact. And I don’t mean her phone. Or her backpack which is bigger on the insid-HOLY SMOKES, SHE HAS BAG OF HOLDING. HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT BEFORE 

Plus, if fans’ hypothesis are correct, the frog robot might be joining them

And I would totally count it as Anne’s summon. So, yeah, Anne is a Mage… Well, okay, Rincewind-level of mage, but still.

Also, before someone points a million flaws in this: I’m not really that much into RPGs, so feel free to point out said flaws. It’s just something that was rattling in my brain.

Amphibia Theory-Anne and Marcy were friends before Anne and Sasha.

While watching the new episode of Amphibia and seeing Marcy's personality and how she interacted with Anne, I started thinking that Anne and Marcy were friends first and then they became friends with Sasha.

The first reason I think that way is due to the way Anne continuously pulls Marcy out of danger and watches out for her kind of gives me the vibe that she's been doing this for years. Like they've been friends since probably early childhood and Anne has been looking out for Darcy for so long because she's so accident prone. Its just second habit at this point.

Second, Marcy doesn't seem like the kind of person Sasha would hang out with on her own. She's not as protective of her and kind of stands a bit away from her in all the scenes they're together. It seems like Sasha just tolerates Marcy more than anything else.

So I think its a very likely scenario that Anne and Marcy were originally childhood friends and then one day Sasha invited Anne to hang out with her. But rather than ditch her childhood friend, Anne asked Sasha to let Marcy hang out with them. While Sasha probably didn't like Marcy, she figured it'd be easier to control Anne if she let her friend hang out with her and seemed nicer. Plus, Marcy was too scatterbrained to notice Sasha's manipulations. So it was a win-win situation. Marcy and Anne just give off that vibe of those two nerds who the popular chick let hang out with her.
