I hate that TGCF isn't as accepting of a fandom as SVSSS.

Cause in SVSSS you can say shit like: "I ship the MC with the father of his canon love interest." and the fandom will nod and go: "Yeah makes sense I like it".

But in the TGCF fandom you can say: "I ship the MC with his two first friends, who've stood by him in his early days, but they were tragically torn apart by fate, causing everyone to go their own paths and only meet again after decades, yet the two friends felt immense regret for their departure and decided to stand by the MC once again and protect him, as they've secretly tried doing through the decades they haven't been with eachother." and the fandom will go: "How dare you destroy the pairing of MC and ML. How dare you have other opinions. How dare you ship something that makes sense and is healthy."

And that's just sad. Because I can't just say stuff like: "Yeah XL should be PM's and SWD's Sugar Baby as a treat lol" or "He deserves to be loved so he should have a harem anyways lmao" without THOSE fans crawling on my ceiling at night ready to assassinate me.

Especially in a work as shipable as TGCF.

The thing about Mu Qing is that a lot of the time we see him, he doesn't have much but he offers all he has and beyond.

All he had were the few cherries he picked at the cost of being beaten and humiliated and called a thief (as the only poor disciple among many rich kids who could have bought those cherries any time they wanted) to give to his mother and yet when the poor children surrounded him he gave those cherries to them.

He had a cursed shackle and yet he was the only one who offered to accompany Xie Lian, Hua Cheng & and Mei Nianqing to Mt. Tonglu. (even though Jun Wu had told him that his friends would assume that he was a traitor and leave him to die and MNQ & Hua Cheng obviously hated him and he thought that XL & FX hated him, too.) He not only had a cursed shackle but burnt hands and feet and injured legs and yet he threw himself in the lava to fight and buy time for XL. He could barely walk but attacked Jun Wu head-on with his Zhanmaodo. The shackle tightened around his hand and it was draining his blood and his spiritual powers were sealed and his injuries and burns weren't healing and he was dangling from a freaking cliff and his hair had nearly touched the lava and yet! Right when MNQ wanted to help him up he asked him to send him further down so he could retrieve XL's sword for him!!

When XL had just saved Mu Qing and Bai Wuxiang dragged him down Ruoye, which earlier was explained wouldn't do pointless things (and when asked by XL to grab onto something firm and reliable grabbed onto FX & MQ after HC) made a lunge for Mu Qing, because it knew that Mu Qing would grab it and maybe could do something to save Xie Lian. And Mu Qing, having just been saved, balancing on a sword on burnt legs in the middle of running lava grabbed onto Ruoye with burnt hands and didn't let go even when he was overpowered and dragged along with Xie Lian.

And for all of these, he never expects anything in return! No gratitude, no credit, no friendship, and no affection. He just does these things because that's the kind of person he is.

He's the kind of person who refuses to recruit child soldiers, he's the kind of person who sees a random lady going through forced abortion and tries to save her and the baby, he's the kind of person who even when he's chased out of the house by a broom by his friends, leaves the rice he brought with them, he's the kind of person who even if he assumes XL threw the clock on him & pretended not to know him on purpose disguises himself and goes to XL's help, he's the kind of person who tries to save FX even when he has a cursed shackle, he's the kind of person who not only doesn't abandon his friends under Jun Wu's threats but goes after them knowing that at every step Jun Wu will try to frame him and as far as he knows, his friends don't trust him or like him and he doesn't even think they're friends. he's the kind of person who couldn't bring himself to steal one golden leaf from the prince who had hundreds of them in the depths of his poverty to help his mother yet doesn't blame XL for trying to steal that one time because he understands, he's the kind of person who claims that "truly, there's no point in being a good person" but still helps every time everywhere he can. He's the one who when he can't do anything, when he's lost his attacking powers after going for Jun Wu all he can think about is XL who is grabbed by Jun Wu and calls out for XL to run even as he throws up blood. He's the god who when he ascends what we hear of his followers are: "General Xuan Zhen is generous and kind!"

Just...Mu Qing and his unfailing kindness!

SEVERUS IS MORALLY GREY AND THE IDIOTS DON'T GET IT

Dear world, prepare. for this will be the longest rant you have ever read in your life and you've been warned so don't say" I ain't reading allat" cause I ain't forcing ya.

First of all the people who claim that Severus is either a hero or a villain are both wrong. One is constantly berating every part of his character and the other is constantly uplifting him even after all his bad deeds and both are wrong. We have this idea that people fit in boxes of good or evil but that isn't it. Severus as a character is written to be fully human from the tip to toe of his character arc. First of all, (Defender side: where we try to understand him and the cause of him being a little shit) the first thing that people will bring up about him is the fact that he didn't "grow up" and forgive the marauders for everything and become a good person. Excuse me????they didn't even apologize like ever???

Like did you not get any part of that dude as a character??He was an abused kid being told stories about Hogwarts from his Slytherin mother and wanted to go to Slytherin house cuz he thought it was cool, and he got constantly put down by the marauders for it. They literally almost murdered him and Dumbledore's reaction was "it's k they're the good guys and you're uncared for here. Don't say one of them was a werewolf k??and your enemy saved your life to save his friend's skin, be grateful." Like tf. As if a kid who is in a house of people who constantly try to manipulate all its members into an evil cult is not gonna take full advantage of that and everything else to lure him in. But the real reason he never forgave the marauders is probably the worst memory. (As a person who got SA'd, I can relate, I will never forgive my assaulter, no matter what) Imagine being choked, disarmed and assaulted in front of the whole school when there should be teachers to prevent that, your assaulters get nothing against them and you say something horrible that costs you the only person you actually cared about most in the heat of the moment.(Shouldn't have said that horrible slur but eh.. character development go brr)and then you get constantly berated(implied that James only continued tormenting him but now in secret and not in front of lily) by the dude who you feel destroyed your only friendship and had nothing bad happen to them .Guess how easy it would be for the death eaters to stir up that resentment to their favour, take a wild fucking guess.

"Oh but he had so much time to become better!!!!" Oh my god. Right after he stopped being a death eater (imagine the amount of shit war does to people, murder, being stuck in a cult when trying to escape is a death sentence telling your master a prophecy that any death eater would tell him and then the shit that followed) he got stuffed into the place that caused most of his problems, with students who most definitely saw him get assaulted. That resentment of his is only going to get bigger and bigger with no place to heal or disappear. And since the marauders are either dead or gone, guess who is the unfortunate catalyst for this resentment??? The only people who can't do anything in return, the students....

Am I condoning those acts??? Am I saying it is the students fault?? No. The poor students are the victim of an unfortunate abuse cycle and they never deserved it.. but a person with that much hatred and resentment would never cope with it healthily. And oh my god If I have been assaulted and if my assaulter got constantly put on a podium for how great they are I would hate them for the rest of my life too. You think he would give a shit about James, about his life?? Do you think he would care if he lived or died??would you?? The only person anyone would care about in that situation is your friend (selfish as it is) or whatever he saw her as (the feels were never really properly specified, we all just assumed crush and Jk is ruining everything now so can't ask her either.) And God.... Dumbledore saying that he was disgusted by Severus as if he didn't push him to the path by constantly enabling the others and never giving a shit about Slytherin irks me so much I can't. (Dumbledore really being all for the greater good but allowing his students to be bullied and mistreated,when he had the full power to stop it and not giving a shit about anyone as long as they weren't useful(I see you) he could have stopped both the marauders and Severus from bullying ppl but didn't and has the audacity..ughhh I get he's morally grey too but like he makes questionable choices)

Severus is a bully. He became exactly what he hated and that is reality for some people who don't receive mental help . So he saved people's lives?? He was still a vindictive asshole who took out his resentment of his life on poor students (who didn't deserve it at all). And about mistreating Harry: If I constantly saw my assaulter's face with the eyes of the person I cared about most I would actually poison that kid. Would the kid deserve it? No. Would it help me feel any better about my miserable life? No. Would I still do it to inflict back the pain that I received onto others like the human being that I am? Yea probably? Does that reasoning make it justified?? No. Does it make Severus Satan? Nope.

I think the character he is most like is shen jiu (completely different fandom ik ik) who abused an innocent child because of his tragic past. And the people who say "oh Harry was abused but never did that." People cope with trauma differently (don't compare how different people deal with trauma)!!!!! Harry had people to support him and help him through the trauma and he was rude and insensitive sometimes (key word :sometimes I'm not saying Harry is bad)too alright???Severus immediately conformed himself to a terrorist cult with enablers after receiving the trauma. They are completely different and in different situations. Comparing these two is like comparing blue and red(different colors)

He is still morally grey. He's a selfish prick who takes his frustrations out on others and yet he still saved lots of lives and sacrificed himself for a better cause. He's not supposed to fit the good and evil stereotype at all. He's supposed to show people how humans are not perfect per se and are complex in ways that are hard to get. They can be endlessly cruel and still save people. They could be virtuous and still treat others like shit at times. People out here really asking for more morally grey complex characters and can't even handle him..just don't get angry when you can't fandomify(The term for unnecessary excusing or defending) the actions of a person who can't cope with their trauma because you don't understand them and don't treat them as evil irredeemable monster either because that isn't true. Now, after all of this ranting you can still not understand this concept of : morally grey. Then I fear my writing was wasted, and I regret you having no brain. Please stop trying to put fictional characters in good and evil boxes when they are not meant to be there.

Dont understand how they put in Thomas being held back by 3 people while being actively shot at all because he's trying to get to Minho when he was taken at the end of the scorch trials. Have gladers who knew Minho for longer saying that going back for Minho would be suicide and Thomas is just like "bet."

And then 15 minutes into the death cure throw in the lines "They're not going anywhere. He didn't get what he really wanted" and "look i know its Minho, but you cant ask me to put those kids on the line for one man" if they didn't want me to ship them
