i'm regularly astounded by the cognitive dissonance some of yall have to accept that gender is a social construct with infinite possibilities with the capacity to be deeply personal and individual but still think there's a list of like 4 acceptable sexual orientations and if you go outside of that list or mix entries on that list or relate to them in a non-traditional way not only are you Breaking The Rules you're personally directly harming people who follow them

POLL BELOW THE CUT: A DISCUSSION ABOUT ABINARY TERMINOLOGY IN COINING POSTS
[POLL BELOW THE CUT: A DISCUSSION ABOUT ABINARY TERMINOLOGY IN COINING POSTS]
about terms that end in "girl" or "boy", but for people who arent either/dont use either/dont identify with either. THIS IS NOT A COINING POST, TAGS ARE FOR REACH.
people who strictly use girl and/or boy please do not vote! this discussion and poll is targeted towards abinary terms & coining!
fellow people who are/id as/utilize binary AND abinary terms alike are welcome to vote, but PLEASE keep in mind this is a post targeted to abinary folks who are excluded by the strict usage of boy/girl everywhere
please reblog instead of just liking :D reach is needed!
ive noticed a trend amongst certain liomogai labels, and i think its important for the binary gender terms to not be the main things one coins for when making a label— for this discussion, i'll use the following example: soldiergirl/soldierboy.
why do we limit ourselves to only use the two main binary terms (and their variants such as gal, lass, lady, woman / guy, lad, sire, man)? aren't we forgetting someone, or better yet, some people?
this quickly got me thinking about making an awareness post about the situation, but there's one small issue about this: what term should we use for people who don't identify as, aren't, nor call themselves boys/girls?
many different (micro+)labels have nouns to replace "boy"/"girl", but i have not yet sensed a consensus about terms to replace boy/girl for the entire nonbinary/abinary crowd— and that's obviously fine, every person will prefer something different, but its important that we acknowledge what terms are used by the community (regardless of how many people use xyz term more)
however, i also believe it's useful to make a poll for this, with the winning result NOT being the standardized term but instead the whole poll results being a compass for term creation. its important to raise awareness about these things, and the information
(bold text: with the winning result NOT being the standardized term)
please feel free to specify what you have in mind if you pick the last option {preferrably in the comments or replies} ( °3°) your preferences matter and should be heard!
as a frail reminder, this isn't a critique against people who use boy & girl in their coining posts, but moreso a initiative for the inclusikn of those who dont use/arent/dont resonate with binary gendered terms. please keep this all in good faith!
reach taglist — @radiomogai, @rwuffles, @scr-ppup, @daybreakthing, @vampitsm ❤️‍🩹 feel free to ignore if you'd like!

can people stop making communities to post their flag coining posts in. i cant reblog the flags or use them unless i join the community and im not about to do that for one (1) flag. it also makes it so hard to archive your work. what if your blog is deactivated or deleted one day? poof, term gone. archive blogs need posts, not communities. it's really frustrating to find a term i adore just to see its behind a community wall i have to join to gain access too

Do you feel like neoumbrella and neoterms/genders similar/adjacent to them should have a specific name for themselves considering they’re usually separate/independent from, or at least not inherently, xenogenders but also don’t seem to be inherently anthrogenders/labels (man, woman, masc, fem, etc)? All neogender means, if I’m correct, is all genders/terms/labels that were made/coined within a recent time, and any gender/label, (xeno, anthro, and [potential name] alike), are neogenders/labels so it would need a specific name for them, no? Idk just throwing a thought out there…to see what you and other people might think and whether or not it does more harm than good..
interesting proposal!
youre right, if we're going literal, any umbrella for gender coined recently is a "neogender umbrella" -- that's why i don't think it should end with "-gender", since imo the most important distinction between neogender umbrellas and xenogenders is the fact that neogender umbrellas (while called this, for lack of a better term) encompass much more than just gender. i think "neoumbrella" is a great shortening for this, but perhaps the "neo" part could be short for "neoidentity" instead of "neogender".
and yeah, there are xenogender umbrellas and anthrogender umbrellas, but neoumbrellas are pretty much *always* umbrellas, so i dont think they should be a counterpart to xeno/anthrogenders. i feel like making a new name for the type of "gender" neoumbrellas are would just be recoining xenogender.
i know that neoumbrellas have been divorced from xeninity entirely, but im not entirely sure why this is (though i know it originated with kenochoric), because many do fall under the definition of xenine.
my theory is that its a situation of a label *technically* being under an umbrella term, but an individual identifying with that label might not resonate with that umbrella term, even though it technically fits. ive met people who dont identify as nonbinary or trans even though it technically/objectively fits, and thats okay! individual comfort should always come before hard set definitions.
like fuck yeah, im xenine, im a xenogender user, and i experience the neoumbrellas i identify with in a xenine way, but not everyone does.
tagging @radiomogai for discussion seems like something it'd be interested in

Genderfreak, Genderloser Templates
[pt: genderfreak, genderloser templates. end pt.]
A lot of the terms coined under the genderfreak system are broken, but I found an archival post and wanted to post this to tumblr again in case anyone would prefer to reblog it rather than just save a link somewhere! The original archive post can be found HERE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ID: Two flags, each with seven stripes, where the fourth stripe is wider than the rest. The order of the stripes on both flags is black, white, gray, black, gray, white, and black. The first flag has a white wavy horizontal line on the fourth stripe, and the second flag is stylized so that the stripes look like they're dripping. END ID
-loser and -freak
Gender suffixes, like -creature, -thing, -being, or -bitch!!
-loser: denotes a gender where one is/feels like a loser, or where one feels that their gender is simply "loser." does not necessarily have a negative connotation!
-freak: denotes a gender where one is/feels like a freak, or where on feels that their gender is simply "freak." does not necessarily have a negative connotation!
Tumblr media
The above is the original description taken directly from the post just for ease. I do not know the original coiner's stances or if they even had one you should follow, but we personally have no dni.
All credits to the original coiner begendered-mogai.

humanmore / overhuman
Tumblr media
[Image ID: A flag with 8 radial stripes originating from the bottom right corner. The central three are orange, yellow and a thin stripe of light yellow. The 5 stripes following that, which get progressively larger, are blue, dark purple, dark maroon, navy, and black. In the center of the image is a black circle outlined in gold which holds two plus signs touching at the corners in light yellow. End ID.]
Humanmore, also known as overhuman, is an alternative term to alterhuman that has a different meaning when describing your general alterhuman status. Humanmore is meant to be a general umbrella term, so there are several experiences that fall under it.
Overhuman's core experience is being human, but also alterhuman. The user still considers themself human in some way, and finds importance with both their humanity and their alterhumanity.
Here are some experiences that might fall under humanmore:
- Someone who identifies as human primarily, but also is alterhuman in some way(s) - Someone who has several alterhuman identities and doesn't want to explain them, but wants others to know that they aren't just human - Someone who doesn't know what their alterhuman identities are and knows that they are not just human but also something else - Someone who presents as human in some spaces but presents differently elsewhere and considers both part of their identity - Someone who considers themself fully human while still being alterhuman - Someone who is fictionkin and has human fictotypes
The word overhuman comes from the concept of overloading methods in programming. This is when a method or constructor has multiple implementations with the same name but different arguments so that it can be used in different ways.
The flag's symbol is both a DNA strand and two plus signs.
Alt simplified flag:

Okay serious post time🩷🩷🩷
And I'm holding you very, very gently while saying this
Stop blaming other people for the reason you get harassed.
We have multiple accounts. Multiple. And on every single one that was active we've been accused of "making things worse" for other systems because we weren't palatable for neurotypicals. I'm tagging this as a few other things too because it applies to those groups as well.
The catgender xe/xim Skye age 14 isn't the reason the guy on the street called you a slur. Transphobia is
The therian who genuinely believes they're an animal isn't why people mock you. Just bad morals are
And finally, that tulpamancy system isn't why you get fakeclaimed. Ableism is.
Infighting is useless, harassing other systems isn't fighting misinformation, transmeds sucks, otherkin people are cool. Blah blah serious post is over, if you blame your siblings for your oppression, you're no better than your oppressors 🩷🩷🩷🩷

Mspec Lesbian Misconceptions
I still get exclusionary comments and reblogs on my friend's mspec lesbian infographic so I thought I'd make a sort of 'addon post' that answers basically everything!
Please check the infographic out! It's much shorter and it looks pretty
Tumblr media
🌺 "Mspec always means that you're attracted to men"
⤷ Mspec is short for the 'multisexual (or other multi- attraction type) spectrum', meaning the attraction to multiple genders. Most folks who experience attraction to women and non-binary genders don't consider themselves mspec, but that doesn't mean that nobody can
⤷ As we understand the complexities of gender more and move past the 'only two genders' way, what counts as being bi or otherwise mspec will change
🌺 "There's no reason to reclaim old uses for the word lesbian from before lesbian separatism"
⤷ Lesbian separatists tried to exclude anyone that associated themselves with men or masculinity from lesbianism. This included bi people, trans people, butches and mascs, lesbians still married to men, lesbians living with men, and more. Some went as far as considering butch-for-femme relationships to be harmful. Why wouldn't people want to reclaim lesbian from a time before this ideology spread? See more here
🌺 "But bi women wanted to make their own spaces and stop using lesbian spaces and the lesbian label" ⤷ Obviously, some bi sapphics of the time would've wanted to be distinctly and only viewed as bi, and have no affiliation with lesbians, but plenty didn't. Implying that the rise of radical feminism in the lesbian community was wanted by all of the people they excluded is ridiculous. It wasn't a consensus
🌺 "Mspec lesbians just want to feel included in lesbian spaces"
⤷ You've hit the nail on the head actually, this isn't the gotcha you think it is. Mspec sapphics were originally welcome to use the word lesbian and exist in the lesbian community, and then they weren't, so some of them would like to be included again yes
🌺 "It takes away spaces that are just for monosexual lesbians"
⤷ There have been attempts made to create terms for monosexual lesbians (though usually people just mean 'not attracted to men' rather than monosexual), but the lesbian community thrived with bisexuals in it for a long time. Lesbian spaces are heavily dominated by monosexual lesbians as well
⤷ The real question here is why are you so keen to know for definite that nobody in your space is attracted to men? And what are you counting as 'attracted to men'? Are you assuming it based on dating habits? What label they use? What you consider to be attraction? Everyone views this stuff differently, you can't police it properly
🌺 "Lesbian can't be used in the split attraction model, it means no attraction to men at all"
⤷ Insisting that someone has to use 'homoromantic' rather than lesbian just because they're bisexual or vice versa is pointless. Not only is lesbian a more open and functional label (it specifies attraction to women and doesn't imply that the user is also a woman), but defining it as an absence of attraction to men is very 1970s lesbian separatist of you
🌺 + "If you're fluid between mspec and lesbian just say abrosexual", "If you heavily prefer women just say homoflexible" and so on so forth
⤷ There are probably terms that technically apply to you that you don't use because you're not connected to the label or it doesn't fit quite right. The same applies here. Abrosexual is very broad, homoflexible implies 'same gender' attraction to women, and we've established that there's nothing stopping them from using mspec and lesbian instead

Munbonding Coining Post
We, Mel and Lav, have known we're in the minority of the modern soulbonding community for quite some time. It seems like many in the community have shifted their views, making it harder for those of us who see our soulbonds as mental creations instead of a spiritual or metaphysical experience to find our place. To help create a space that resonates more with our perspective while still staying connected to the rich history of soulbonding, we've come up with a new subterm.
Munbonding (pronounced "MOON-bonding") is a subset of soulbonding that is a purely psychological phenomenon instead of the origins being up for interpretation. Munbonds occur when someone (called the munbonder), after developing an emotional attachment to a fictional character (called the munbond), gains the ability to talk with and sense the character's presence mentally. The resulting munbond is a distinct version of the character, thinking, acting, and living independently of the munbonder. Munbonds are somewhat like imaginary friends, but they're unique in that they "come to life" and have autonomous personalities due to how the munbonder treats and engages with them. Although they are thoughtforms—beings created, powered, and maintained by thought, mental energy, and imagination—munbonds can have a significant impact on the munbonder's life, comparable to that of a tangible person. This connection can arise accidentally via the subconscious or can be intentionally fostered by the munbonder. (Etymology: from the Middle English word münde ("mind") as well as the internet slang term "mun" used in roleplaying circles.)
We feel munbonding honors soulbonding's roots as a term that originated with writers, roleplayers, and superfans while giving it a clean slate to be its own thing. It is our hope that having a unique subset will allow both sides of the community to better coexist, and that it will offer a less daunting entry point into psychological soulbonding for those who would thrive under that framework like we have.

atypical identity (atypiden for short)
an atypical identity is one not typically felt or used by normative people in society, or an identity that is not “usual” (not to be confused with an identity being wrong, unnatural, or unaccepted, though “controversial” identities may fall under this). this term is not meant to other identities, but rather, describe identities that may be a little less well known or accepted.
this would include neopronouns, neogenders, tertiary attractions, aldernic terms, vesil terms, nonhumanity, subtlidens, etcetera.
made for both categorization purposes and identity purposes, hence the flags.
the symbol is meant to represent diverging from what is seen as typical.
coined by us!
please do not repost our creations, or add them to any wikis. our terms and flags can be used by everyone!
