Happy make a terrible comic day I am pursuing my dreams in the medium of visual storytelling. I blocked out how I wanted to use the space in each panel before I even started sketching and that helped a lot with planning

"God never gives you more than you can handle" is survivorship bias. People who got more than they could handle are dead.

I was teaching kids today and they got fixated on the usual ‘are they dead now?’ question when I was talking about historical figures. So I was just like ‘Yes, they’re dead now, everyone who was alive in the 1800s is dead now.’ and then one kid was like ‘Except for you’.

The narrative of ‘this person was disabled but their disability was cured as part of their story’ is ableist

Okay, granted, it’s been a while since I’ve seen “all trans readers like one kind of fic, and no trans readers ever like another kind of fic, so it is Transphobia when you write the Wrong Kind.”
…but it hasn’t been that long since I’ve seen someone quietly wonder if they’re a Bad Trans Person for having preferences.
So it’s never a bad time to say: different people have different needs, and it’s okay to be fulfilled by different kinds of stories!
(heck, the same person might have different needs at different points in their own life, and that’s okay too)

I get to be more free as an adult than I ever did as a child and I think more kids need to know that. as a high schooler part of what made my depression so bad was being told over and over again that it was the most carefree time of my life. while I was trapped in an abusive home + amongst bullies at school + in a body that wasn’t right for me. opportunities to be carefree don’t end when you turn 18. you can be more you than ever as an adult and that’s such a gift. I know ‘it can get better’ is an annoying thing to see over and over when you’re as trapped as I was back then. and I know that if you’re still a kid you deserve to be free right this second. but it can and will get better and this is not where life stops being interesting. promise

there are a lot of undiagnosed adults out there but i do think it's a shame that we've reached a point where having hobbies and interests past the age of 20 is seen as a touch of the tism. i know many older adults who suppress all their childish desires and throw out all their old toys and for what. are you scared of being 'weird' ? who give a shit.

Stop just asking "is it normal?" and start asking "is it harming anyone?" Lots of harmful things are normalized in this society and lots of things considered weird or rare are completely harmless. Whether something is considered normal or common shouldn't be the deciding factor in whether it's okay

I've never been one to complain about rainbow capitalism anyway and in 2025 I am firmly "I will take whatever I can get" but I wish that conversation ever focused on whether companies putting pride themed logos on their social media accounts have homophobic or transphobic policies behind the scenes. Subaru was notable in the 90s because when their market research showed their cars were popular with lesbians and they decided to start actively advertising to them, they backed that up with policies for their LGBTQ employees, notably extending benefits to same-sex partners when gay couples couldn't legally get married, which was a big deal at the time. If a company is doing rainbow capitalism in public but have a history of employees complaining about discrimination we should talk about that but that's never what the generic complaints about rainbow capitalism are.

I haven't fully beaten chapter 4 yet so I doubt I have all the details, but after seeing that whole scene at the holiday house, it almost seemed like Carol was the caller? Given Carol's reaction to seeing Susie and Noelle with the guitar and her interaction with Kris upon leaving (saying "you're welcome in anytime"), it would've made sense for the phone call to be coming from her, and would explain Kris trying to stop the soul from getting the guitar. Plus Kris has already shown a dislike for the soul, so there's also the possible explanation that Kris just got angry in the moment in regards to what the soul was doing
And anything for any of Kris's other actions that I know of already seemed to have good explanations that didn't involve working with the knight. Chapter 1's ending of Kris waving a knife around for the player to see was explained at the beginning of chapter 2 with the pie being eaten and the knife being left in the pie tin, chapter 3 only supports it further with that one quiz question. Chapter 2's ending had the theory floating around that Kris might've been trying to catch their mom's attention in regards to the soul making them act oddly, and to make Undyne aware of the dark fountain shenanigans occurring. And I don't recall anything that would make it seem like Kris would've been aware of what would happen in chapter 3, I doubt Kris foresaw anything related to Tenna's actions or the Knight's involvement
"kris is working with/knows the knight directly" shit is pissing me off a lot and it sucks that good artists believe that to be true
I feel like if you assume the one on the phone is the knight, you have fallen for the "mysterious phone call you can't fully hear" trap
The animation of RK "knighting" kris is both symbolic and for show, but RK ends up downing them anyways
Why would Kris want to work with someone who is going to Steal Their Fucking Mom
The "Kris coughs. The knight tilts its head" could have been a few other things. A signal to the player (seen earlier in the chapter actually) or simply them being kinda snarky in a "lets just end this already" way
I don't think kris DOESN'T know the knight, but its moreso a gut feeling of familiarity
