Her pores looked huge, she smelled like a plane, and this humidity was wreaking havoc on her hair. And worst of all Georgette had lost signal, her phone no better than a brick. With a huff she jammed the over-sized device back into her purse and figured that with a lot of ground to cover - and her sister having run off, she might as well take a peek.
The halls were quiet for such a large place, the click-click-click of her heels echoing around her. It wouldn't be much of a competition with just her and Jenny there. Her sister and that big brain would probably wipe the floor with Georgette, though the thought just made her proud. She’d wanted Jenny to go out and make something of herself - be the fantastic nerd she knew she was. She could handle simply being the pretty face.
Lost in thought, Georgette let her feet lead her this way and that, finally stopping when she spied an indoor pool. As a child she used to swim like a fish, one thing she was actually good at besides smiling for a camera. Still she had given that all up a long time ago, now merely sunbathing for a good photo for some creepy paparazzi. She bent down by the waters edge and let her fingers skim the cool surface.
“ I grew up with a dozen eyes on me at all times - I know when I'm being watched...you don't need to lurk. ”
