Paseo Turístico Río Puyo
This place is located in the Barrio Obrero with a extension of 2.5 kilometers, you can do activities like camping, trekking, photography, basketball, volleyball and eat local food. The Paseo Turistico is surrounded by the río puyo and you will have an amazing view of the vegetation, also this is a comfortable place where you can do trekking even if it is your first tie walking in the jungle, enjoy a safe and peaceful environment. You have access to two hosterías “El Jardín” and “Flor de Canela”, you can stay in this hosterías with your family during this adventure!

Jardín Botánico Las Orquídeas
This touristic place is the prove that humans can restore damaged areas, since 1980 the owner of this area replant an estimated of 7 hectares of amazonian vegetation like bromeliad, orchid and different type of timbers, also it offers refugie to insects, frogs reptiles and in some cases mammals. Visiting this spot will change your point of view about the human impact in the ecosystem and the ones who take actions trying to restore exploited areas.

Parque Etnobotánico Omaere
Located in the Barrio Obrero following the path of Paseo Turístico Rio Puyo, this place was created in 1993 with the purpose of safeguard important plant species of the amazonian cultures, some of them have medicinal purposes. They count with native guides that will explain the Shuar and Waurani culture, traditions, lifestyle.

Where is Puyo?
Puyo is located in the northeast of Ecuador and it is the capital city Pastaza the biggest province of the 24 that conform the Ecuadorian Republic. Puyo is also known as the “Corazón de la amazonia” or “Ciudad canela”. Corazón de la amazonia refers to the fact that this city is at the center of the Ecuadorian Amazonian territory. Ciudad canela is another way to call Puyo, but it is more a historic background that involves the expeditions of the Spanish during XVI trying to find cinnamon “canela” a condiment that grows in the Amazonia.
