.sun doesn't get here.
Most often youngs start to draw graffiti when they want to feel themselves as members of some community, to feel the danger.

I am afraid to pass by the mirror even during the day, even when I try not to look at it, I have a feeling that someone is looking at me from the other side, something is pressing on me. At night I almost panic, because there is a mirror opposite the bed in the room, I am wildly afraid to move, and periodically I see faces and figures in the mirror, following me. I always close the door, because before this night a figure came out of there and approached me.

. Structure(why being sad is important) project .
http://prezi.com/xcdemd0fpzkl/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy
What if I told you that the way to change the world was not to be bold, resolute, brilliant, or even compassionate? What if I told you that the way to change the world was to be sad?
It sounds so improbable. When we think of those who have taught us the most about meaningful change, we think of people who are very, very brave, say, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama. Unwavering. Deep. Devoted to others and willing to die for what they believe, quite literally.
When you look out at this world, what you see will make you very, very sad. This is good. You are seeing clearly. Genuine sadness gives rise, spontaneously, naturally, completely, to the wish—no, the longing—to be of benefit to others. When you wish to help is rooted in love, it is effective. There is no question.
But because it is so uncomfortable, we immediately want to turn sadness into what we imagine will hurt less: anger, hopelessness, helplessness. When the wish to help is rooted in anger, it will only create more confusion. And of course, when we feel hopeless or helpless, we take refuge in non-action, which also creates confusion.
Sadness is one of the four human emotions.  The others being happiness, fear, and anger.  Sadness is valid and useful and alerts us to how we need to treat ourselves, and also as to how we want to be treated by others.  I am not talking about long-term sadness, or as Lewis Wolpert calls depression, “malignant sadness,” and I am certainly not talking about grief.  Here I am talking about the feeling of sadness that can be experienced when someone we like or love is unkind to us when we see or experience something poignant or we experience some loss or hurt.  These feelings will not last weeks but are not transient.  It may feel like a temporary shadow has passed across your feelings.
Some people have real difficulty identifying this emotion due to living in a culture which values “positive” emotions above the more negative ones.  This is a mistake because as humans we need the full range of our emotions to be in working order in order to be able to respond appropriately to our own needs and those of others.  As sadness is not always acceptable in our culture and many people are uncomfortable witnessing the sadness of another, it can often be covered up by anger.

. Street(riga)art .
Graffiti is a drawing on the walls. Paintings, drawings or inscriptions that are usually left on objects of the urban environment, for example, walls of houses, fences, garbage containers.
In our time, graffiti is considered one of the genres of street art, technically they are performed with markers and/or aerosol paints. Separate graffiti drawings created by artists become objects of contemporary art.
Mind, professionally made graffiti is very beautiful. Graffiti is very popular around the world. If it is done by really talented people, a picture can be a work of art. To start with, graffiti makes deserted houses, fences, public telephones more beautiful. A picture should be drawn on old, dirty and broken walls. It would be good if we can have special places for graffiti. In addition to this, some graffiti artists want to be heard, and they try to explain something to the people. Drawing a picture, artists express themselves. They want to color this grey and boring world. Besides, there are some famous unusual pictures, which are made by the best graffiti artists. On the other hand, there are some graffiti artists who write obscene words and draw senseless pictures. Some artists spoil monuments, memorial walls, tombstones, cars, metro wagons, so most of the people believe that graffiti is more vandalism than art.  It is important graffiti to be legal. We should give graffiti artists a chance to tell us what they want.
Graffiti is the art of self-expression, to draw your own "I". In addition, the popularity of graffiti among young people is steadily growing. Yes, and society refers to wall drawings more loyal (indulgently, gently). People have ceased to discuss street drawings so actively ... Yes, and to condemn writers (graffiti artists) also stopped. This phenomenon is no longer considered shameful or antisocial. People are simply accustomed to multi-colored city walls and entrances.
Graffiti - the freest (if you can say so) of the means of self-expression. Write, draw what you want, without being afraid to violate any rules and regulations, there are no taboos and prohibitions. In general, complete freedom of creativity. And such creativity most often we see on the street (walls of buildings, garages, underground passages, payphone booths, asphalt pavement in yards, etc.); transport is also used for drawing, and, of course, we must not forget about entrances and stairs. If we talk about large cities, there are so-called graffiti galleries, that is, walls completely painted with paint. There are such galleries for various reasons. But basically, these are places of a gathering of "informal" youth.
.. Bright drawings on the walls will adorn the city ..

. Project(homage)evaluation .
Why did I choose Koi fishes? Many of the attributes of the koi symbolize several lessons and even trials individuals often encounter in life. The koi fish has a powerful and energetic life force, demonstrated by its ability to swim against currents and even travel upstream. Some of the characteristics associated with the koi include: good fortune, success, prosperity, longevity, courage, ambition, perseverance. The fish's coloring also has something to do with its symbolism. Certain colors represent certain aspects or outcomes in life.
Kohaku - This koi has a white body with red spots and symbolizes success in your career.
Kumonryu - There are two main variations of this koi. One variation is a koi with a white body and black spots and the other is an all-black body. This Kumonryu koi symbolizes life changes and transformations.
Ogon - This solid, silver-colored koi symbolically represents success in business and wealth.
Kuchibeni - This white and red patterned koi is often referred to as the "lipstick" fish because the red coloring around its mouth makes it appear as though the fish is wearing lipstick. Kuchibeni koi represents love and long-lasting relationships.
Yamabuki - The Yamabuki koi is gold in coloring and symbolizes riches and wealth.
When I just started doing research I thought that it would be difficult to find artist which is drawing ONLY koi fishes because almost all artist every time drawing something different, I can be one direction like landscapes, flowers, town panorama or one style but not always the same thing. So I was happy to find Terry Gilecky works because they are absolutely beautiful and magnificent.
My first idea was to draw a girl with long hair and make her hair as detailed as I can to make it look like a river flow, but I after I draw detailed fishes I understood that they gonna merge with a background- hair. so I started to experiment with watercolor pencils (because they can give soft shade and make a drawing look more natural) trying to make fishes bright, to make them stand out from the background hair. I liked how fishes were looking drawn with watercolor pencils but detailed fishes I liked more so I changed the idea to make a colorful background and leave fishes how they are. Drawing background was not easy because I didn't want to color background in equable blue I wanted to show somehow that water is moving so I tried to draw it like its moving what was difficult enough. So final idea was draw koi fishes with black gel pen because it can give hard but clean lines and use watercolor pencils for a background.  I choose to draw my project because I feel more comfortable when I'm drawing, I can control all lines and everything that is happening. But next time I would like to try others media and materials doing my project because it can give more inspiration and more project work variations which can be interesting.
did the rest of the group understand my idea? I think yes because I heard a lot of positive comments to which I'm very glad. But I'm still not satisfied with my presentation because I haven't shared all found information with the group. Like for example: Why did I choose to make exactly this composition?  I arranged the composition so that it would create a silhouette of the recycling logo because I wanted to touch the subconscious of people, maybe my problem was that I did not make it understandable enough, but next time I will show my idea in a much better way.
This project was not easy, it was challenging and I think I did this challenge well, but everything could be better.

. Project(second artist)research .
during the presentation my coy fish work i’ve been told that i need to tell more about similar artists, so i did a bit of research about the Murayama Ökyo. Its a Japanese artist active in the late 18th century. A personal style of Western naturalism mixed with Eastern decorative design. As a teenager, he moved to Kyoto and joined the townspeople class. He apprenticed for a toy shop, where he painted the faces onto dolls. The shop began selling European stereoscopes, novelties that when looked into presented the illusion of a three-dimensional image. It was Ōkyo's first look at Western-style perspective, and in 1767 he tried his hand at one of the images.
Tumblr media
I'm absolutely unhappy because I couldn't find any more information about this artist but in my opinion, his works are beautiful because it's not something to what we (Europeans) used to. His work has a trail of oriental culture. Water doesn’t have “typical” watercolors but it’s still understandable that water is water.  Also, all colors are calm so it brings on only good emotions and calmness.

. Personal(draft)Statement .
Why do you applying for a chosen course?
Design is a way to show your inner world from the outside like clothes, hairstyle, and makeup.
Design is always different and each direction has its own charm and never repeats. Also, design requires the creator to constantly update their knowledge about culture, fashionable movements and exploring new ideas.
Why does this subject interest you?
I’m curious about how visual information affects the human subconscious and forces to make a decision or change opinion. I would like to study graphic design because I think it can allow me to show my creative side and maybe even help me contribute to the visual information in all media. I hope to show my closeness to art and develop my own style.
Why do you think you are suitable for this?
Studying a foundation in art and design helps me to choose what path I want to follow the future. Most often I get some inspiration from everyday problems, past and present life experience.  But the biggest part of my inspiration I'm getting from street art because I think that it’s a perfect example how simple and some would say pointless vandalism turns into the way to improve the urban environment and can also carry the meaning of a creative expression and even philosophical.
Do your current or previous studies relate to the course…
In past, I did an interior design course in Latvia which helped me understand that interior design is not an area that I wish to peruse however design is very important to me.  At the moment, I’m doing foundation course art and design which helps me understand what I want to do next.
Have you taken part in any other activities that demonstrate your interest...
I was volunteering in Kids school of Television in Latvia. My task was to make a drawing on the wall which would be News picture background.
 Future plans
In future, I would like to be part of people who will change all visual information which people are getting every minute (Sufficiently global but what one person can imagine another one can do).The world can be more beautiful and interesting if the visually obtained information would be more esthetic and contain more sense, of course not all but the part that could carry more information.

. Loving Vincent .
We live at a time when groans of pictures of different quality appear on the screens of our cinemas every year.
But this medal has a downside: Unfortunately, we began to lose those feelings, those emotions and impressions, when the new film captures you from within, changes you, gives you such a rush of excitement and reflection that even after the credits there is a trace in your soul, which may not disappear forever. Now basically the film industry has turned into a business, where every new film is judged as a new way to grab money in your pocket. The main thing is the soul! And so, among all this same diversity comes a film Loving Vincent, this film changed a lot for me.
This film ... No, this work cannot be evaluated in the ordinary film. In the presence of all the animated signs, it looks and is perceived as a combination of listening to an audiobook and visiting a gallery. It was difficult to perceive what was happening on the screen the first 5 minutes of the film, because I had not had such a viewing experience (I'm about the style and format of the movie), like most other people, but the whole atmosphere, expressed in music and the in the video was a feeling that you are there, on the other side of the screen.
"We want to know so much about his death, but what do we know about his life?". And it's the truth! All Vincent's acquaintances tell stories about him and his last days of life. And it is so interesting to observe that each person talks about him in different ways. These are completely different emotions and memories! We will be shown his last day of life and the people who were with him
In the details of the plot, I will not go into, not to "spoil", but slightly too warm up the interest of future viewers. I will only say that he is very interesting and exciting, reminiscent of a detective. The plot was based on the investigation of the artist's son's son, a young man named Arman Roulin. Arman is investigating the events that occurred during the last days of Van Gogh's life, including the circumstances of his departure from life, which are shrouded in mystery. The film keeps the viewer in suspense from the initial to the final frame.
