she was taught from the best, how to demand respect and stoke fear to get what she wants. the world was a drawn blood bath, a race to trample on top of everyone, and any risk to face had to be squandered or risk the wrath of being overthrown. maybe the fool’s insubordination looked like a misunderstanding, and maybe her methods of dealing with such a off comment was an exaggeration. leaving him here to rot against the tree he’d been bound to, or be pitifully spared was not anything she felt bad about.

       CONDESCENDING TONE ISN’T APPRECIATED IN ANY FORM -- she’s always clashed with authority && challenged orders. && as much as she wants to scale up on the backsass at the baron’s little spoiled brat who clearly shouldn’t be saying she needs to learn lessons ‘out here’ since she’s been out here all of her life -- she knows joel wouldn’t be happy with it  (  they need the jobs her dad brings in -- unfortunately  ). she’d been there for the misunderstanding && if she was trying to gain respect she sure had it from others -- not from ellie, nor did ellie particularly fear her. she grew up alone on the streets && ended up a smuggler after joel found her -- there wasn’t much left to fear anymore && she’s done a lot more terrible than tying someone to a tree.

Small figure swung down from vine-consumed fire escape, arm looping around the neck of hunched Stalker. Legs hooked around upper body, trapping the arms as best they could, arm tucked just under the chin to keep the jaws closed as knife was buried deep into fungal skull. Clicking and snarling rage echoed as Hiro desperately tried to end the INFECTED as quickly as he could. A few more defensive jabs and down they went, his grip slipping. Struggling to keep stable, Hiro glared through askew goggles as Stalker tumbled forward, spilling teen across the abandoned cobbles of empty alleyway.

He huffed, rolling onto his side, dragging sleeve across his jaw, goggles sliding down to hang around his scarved neck. He took a quick look around, spotting his backpack. “Found it.” Hand grasped pack strap before he turned to the other with a roll of brown eyes.

“…You’re welcome, by the WAY.” A pause. Hiro had never crossed paths with someone closer to him in age before. They weren’t usually alone. “Is your GROUP coming ? ‘Cause I’m not trying to get manhandled for my measly can of cold raviolis.”

      despite what was a clear save, she matches spat attitude with her own -- she could handle herself, that’s always been her stance  (  though she didn’t often get the chance to meet other kids her age out here  ). everyone dies. would he be the next ? though he seems skilled -- but so was riley.
