patron saint of the life that flows through our bodies. patron saint of violence. patron saint of love. something that does not watch over but exists within: not for protection but for vitality. there is no passion without a beating heart at its core. when that heart breaks open, someone has to be responsible for what it bleeds.

"yeah, head there!" He summoned flames into his hands and moved himself to stand between Eiden and the glitched. He kept his eyes on the door as the banging became more violent.

They really should have picked a place with a stronger door.

"Quickly, go!" He launched out a blast of fire towards the first glitch that managed to break through. "I'll keep them busy!"

" Eh? For me? Is that okay...? "

Eiden blinks as the other suddenly grabs his hands. He won't start arguing against it, there's barely time for it but nonetheless he's a little touched by the act of kindness.

" ...thanks ", Eiden then starts, " for real I --- "

He freezes. Yep. Those aren't just disgruntled customer sounds.

" From the backdoor maybe? Most places have staff rooms right...? "

Soma eyed the sword cautiously, but kept himself calm. The man wasn't a threat to him as of yet. He looked up at the man with some weariness. He seemed to be pretty confident in finding out whoever runs the this city.

"Well, if you do, let me know," He joked lightly and fixed his posture. He watched the man and his bird before following his line of the sight towards the stain glass. Was he searching for clues in the images?

"It does, but there isn't much I can do. I'm not exactly equipped to fight whoever brought me here." He shrugged his shoulders. Partially true. His bones weren't enough to make a threatening stance against his captors. "I'm just an average guy who got caught up in this place."

" No. "

The cormorant at his shoulder adjusts its perch, beady red eyes catching the reflection of the moonlight. Vicious continued to make his way down the aisle of the church, feathers dropping here and there with every step. At his hip, the sword was obvious, but both hands were tucked away in his pockets. He did not appear to approaching with violent intent.

" I'm learning my surroundings. There's the possibility that I could figure out who is running this virtual reality if piece together enough clues, " Vicious explains plainly, dull eyes flickering upwards to stare at the stained glass windows.

So far, none of the details of this cathedral were familiar to him.

One week into living in Spirale, and Vicious was still convinced that all of this was an elaborate dream.

" Does it bother you at all? That you are here instead of where you actually belong? " Slowly, he glances over to the strange, who's hair was just as brilliant and silver as his own.

Soma blinked in confusion when Vanth disappeared and reappeared away from him. It quickly dawned on him that the door was never unlocked and glared harshly at Vanth.

"Get out!!" He yelled at him at threw the bone at him, missing his head by a few inches and shattering the window. Even if it was a joke, there was no way in hell he was agreeing to a date with him! Vanth was literally the most aggravating person he's ever met!

Hold on, what was that? Vanth immediately erupts into wheezing, and when he finally manages to iron it out into a laugh, it's shrill. ❝ Without taking me out to dinner first? You're a total brute! Gee, pfff haha—you really are my type! ❞ As they approach the door, Vanth suddenly disappears.

And then reappears by the window, which he's now working open by the time Soma turns around. ❝ Before I bounce, Friday at 7pm sound good to you? I'm really in the mood for nachos. ❞

Soma has had enough of him! He is tired and just wants some peace and quiet! Soma took Vanth by the arm and tugged him towards the door.

"The only thing you're going to steal from me is a bone up the ass!" Wait, that sounded stupid as hell. "You know what I mean!"

❝ It ain't the only thing I stole! Next is your heart! ❞ He pewpews a cupid's dart Soma's way, and—oh shit, here he comes armed with a femur. Run!

❝ Ahahaha! Aw, c'mon! I came on official business! That certificate is totally— ❞ Vanth dodges (or dances, more like) out of Soma's way. ❝ A hundred percent legit! ❞

"I know for a fact you didn't come up with that yourself!" And yet, it got to him and made his cheeks more red.

Soma summoned a bone and waved it at him like one would a broom to a mouse. "Out! Get out of my house! You're a menace!"

❝ But, Bobbie! I can be your very best!! ❞ He definitely stole that line! ... From somewhere!

❝ Besides, I don't see you trying to kick me out or anything! ❞ Dramatic gasp! ❝ Maybe you want me to stay. ❞

"The worst! The literal worst!" Good kisser or not, Soma was not about to let this guy just walk into his home!

❝ Maybe lock your doors next time, bozo! ❞ Ignore that he can just teleport in. That's a fun surprise for later!

❝ Oh, yeah. You’re eligible for this now! ❞ Cackle!

❝ Congrats, Bobbie! ❞

“GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!”

That wasn't what Soma was expecting. He had braced himself to get bitten again or whatever scheming thing Vanth had in his head. He didn't expect him to kiss him so gently like that. Even his teasing words about him playing hard to get (gag, gross) had intensified his embarrassment.

"What the hell was that?" He nearly stumbled over his words. His kiss shouldn't have felt nice like that.

"I gotta go." He abruptly stood up and ran off.

"Yay! You came back!" Her plan was working! She did it! She won at Pride Month and having people fall in love or kiss or something. Yay!

She covers her eyes when Soma leans in though, because kissing is still kind of icky to her.

Soma halted in his tracks and looked over his shoulder. Ugh, why did things have to end up like this? He didn't want to make Yuki sad after she was trying to help.

"Ah! FIne!" He marched back over to the booth and sat down. "Only one kiss, ok? Don't be sad."

To Vanth, he was glaring at him with a flush. "I want you to know you're the literal worst."

And, he leans in.

"Yay! Wow that was so fast! Soma look, you-- hey!"

"HEY! Come back!! You were gonna get a kiss from a pretty boy!! It took me so long to set this up!" Actually it took her about 5 minutes. She crosses her arms and pouts.

"Sorry, I guess the kissing booth.... is closed." Yuki solemnly closes her sketchbook.

"This isn't what I meant when I said I haven't kissed anyone!" He was blushing profusely, but he couldn't be mean and say no to her. She was just a kid wanting to help.

He pressed his hand against Vanth's face and pushed him back and away from him.

"I'd rather not get rabies from you." Sorry, kiddo. He draws the line at this man and storming off.

Yuki gets a small table, and then a chair, and sets them both on the sidewalk. She runs back in, and gets two more chairs and shoves them across from each other at the table. Then, taking @imnotdracula 's hand, she sits him at one, across from the empty chair.

She flips open her sketchbook and writes for a moment with her crayons, and then presents it.

"COME AND GIVE HIM A KISS!! HE NEVER HAD A KISS BEFORE EVER!!"

"Kissing someone you're in love with is different from your parents... and I'd rather kiss the person I love than a stranger. It makes it more meaningful."

"Oh, so, you never kissed anyone? Not even your mommy or your daddy? Or a brother or sister or something?"

Yuki pauses.

"That's so sad... You should kiss somebody soon."

"I haven't even kissed a girl yet, let alone another boy!!"

How is he getting interrogated by a six year old!?

"My mommy said that too and that I had to wait until I'm older. But you're not my mommy so you have to tell me. Why don't you wanna kiss boys?"

"I mean..."

Soma did find himself thinking Eiden was super pretty and-

"Listen! It's complicated!"

"Ooooh."

"But what if it was a super pretty boy?"

"Huh? I'm more attracted to girls is all. I guess I find some boys cute."

"Why?"

"Meeting you made me straight."
