At the gate for my flight home from visiting friends and there's a woman here with a service Shiba Inu. No pics because he has a Do Not Disturb vest and taking pics of strangers is illegal but I need to stress how ON DUTY this animal is. Ears up. Eyes doing Lazer scans of everything. Examining everyone who passes within 10ft like a security guard. Ass planted on her feet. I have never seen a dog with such intense chivalric guardian energy before. He has tiny eyebrows and they are FURROWED with concentration.

you know. small "before dice was an 'official' organization" hc (in my personal "hellish military academy" backstory for kokichi [mentioned here] that i've left in the back of my fridge and had NOT been working on for several months)

younger kokichi: these suckers. not sure why they're sticking around me, but they're perfect pawns to help me be free from this place. easy to use, easy to sacrifice. so there's no way i'm gonna put in the extra trouble of taking them with me.

one of them soulmate aus but everyone has a different indicator.

like- there's a wide known variety of them that exists, and different people have different indicators, not even soulmates will have the same indicator every time and just cause you find someone with the same indicator doesn't mean they have the chance to be your soulmate.

enter Kokichi, who has a soulmate indicator where if he throws a paper airplane it'll fly in the direction of his soulmate but eventually loose momentum if the soulmate is too far away. it also never hits anyone who isn't his soulmate, swerving around people almost unnaturally. he likes using this to throw paper airplanes at people during school without actually getting in trouble for hitting them.

one day while Kokichi, Miu, and Kiibo were chilling outside on top of the running track's bleachers, Kokichi decided to start making paper airplanes to throw down at the other people in the area. During this he and Miu got to explain how his soulmate indicator works to Kiibo, who'd never heard of that type before, and he decided to prove it to him by having Miu stand a good few feet away so he could throw a airplane at her and show Kiibo how it dodges her.

well, it dodged her alright, then while they were talking more about it to Kiibo he pointed out it was still going and bee-lining for Shuichi. Kokichi was sure it'd loose momentum before getting to him or would swerve around him to- but instead it hit him squarely in the back. He panicked and threw another in the complete opposite direction of Shuichi, only for it to loop back around and hit him again- all the while Miu was laughing her ass off at him.

naturally Kokichi- in panic and denial that he just found his soulmate- collects his things stupid quick and get the hell out of there. meanwhile, Shuichi is confused about why he got hit by paper airplanes, and Maki points out that Kokichi was throwing them and they just ended up hitting him- noting both she saw him throw away from Shuichi. while Kaede and Kaito joke that Kokichi ran cause Maki looked like she was giving him a death glare, Shuichi's little detective brain starts going into overdrive about the situation.

it is up to y'all if Shuichi's indicator is also the paper airplanes, or something different. i just thought i'd be fun if Kokichi thew soulmate paper airplanes and freaked out when they hit Shuichi
