Imagine making up lies about Yamcha to make Vegeta (who was currently evil) look like a better person.
The same Vegeta who Future Bulma lied about to her son because Vegeta was very evil and uncaring.
Tumblr media
The same Vegeta who would have let Bulma and his own infant son die if Future Trunks didn't save them.
Tumblr media
The same Vegeta that Bulma knew was so evil that he definitely went to Hell as she lied to her son about there being good in Vegeta.
Tumblr media
(Vegeta first began to change from evil to good after he spent 1 yr training in the Room of Spirit & Time with Future Trunks. And Vegeta gained some respect for his son from the future after he attacked him when Vegeta was helping Cell achieve his perfect form. Future Vegeta never changed from evil to good because he never had a "Future Trunks" to be the catalyst of his change.)
All of this evidence and yet DB fans continue to lie about Yamcha. They go along with the lies that Bulma told Trunks, even though he found out the harsh truth; his mom slept with an evil man and lied to make her son think better of herself and better of his evil father by telling her son that Yamcha was a cheater.
Even if Yamcha was a cheater (evidence shown in the manga reveals YAMCHA IS NOT A CHEATER) does that mean Vegeta was "better" than Yamcha? NO. Vegeta directly threatened to kill Bulma multiple times, commits genocide, & his ultimate goal was to kill Goku then the others in his way. Then his future self died an evil man while the present Vegeta got a chance to change thanks to Future Trunks.
Is being a pure evil murderer really better than being an alleged cheater? Present & Future Vegeta killed Namekian children in the last arc & only didn't continue to kill ppl on Earth because Goku was stronger than him with SSJ. Then, Present Vegeta was going to let his own son and baby momma die, & he then put the world in danger just to stroke his Saiyan pride.
Yamcha was nowhere near as evil as Vegeta was nor did he ever cheat.
Meanwhile, Yamcha wanted to marry Bulma and was sad after he found out she had a child with their 100% still evil enemy who threatened all of their lives (& recently threatened Bulma's life) and Vegeta was partially responsible for most of the Z Warriors deaths. And let's not forget that...
Yamcha was the one to tell Future Trunks that his father cared for him.
Tumblr media
Trunks began to despise his own father, but Yamcha is the only one who told Trunks about what Vegeta did; That his father did actually care about him. Why? What did Yamcha have to gain from it? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Yamcha just wanted Trunks to return home happy. Yamcha literally helped bring hope to the future. Yamcha even made Future Bulma (who lied on Yamcha) feel better about herself when her lie to make Vegeta look good ended up being barely true in an alternate timeline.
Why do so many ppl hate this man?
EXTRA BUU SAGA STUFF:
And let's not forget how Yamcha tried to save Bulma's relationship in the Buu Saga.
Dude moved on from her and now just wants to help out a friend. A friend who was so extremely depressed to the point she fainted in disbelief that her husband killed hundreds of people (and almost her too) just to fight Goku.
Yamcha tried to fix Vegeta's sins & he did. But many in the fandom still spread the lie that Yamcha knew Vegeta died & he made a wish to only bring back the good people so that Vegeta would stay dead. A blatant lie. Goku told Yamcha, Bulma, & the others that Gohan & Vegeta were dead AFTER they made the wish.
Stop lying on Yamcha. Y'all gotta be obsessively jealous to keep lying about a good man.

Yes it was one of Bulma's complaints, but leave it to Screen Rant to not mention that. Hence why I take nothing they say remotely serious & don't even bother reading any of their articles. Their authors ALWAYS have an agenda, and will say anything for clicks, regardless of whether it's true or consistent, or not.
I just saw some dumb Screen Rant article saying that Yamcha doesn't train hard enough to be on the same level as Tien and Krillin. Seeing bs like this really does continue to prove this meme's point.

Since Sarahw-world disabled comments, I decided to reblog in order to address what she & the anonymous person stated. But to answer the question, no, I don't believe Yamcha cheated on Bulma. And I can prove this both by evidence in the series AND by Toriyama's own words that he did in recent interviews (that I'm assuming Sarah & anonymous don't know about). Let me start by saying that I am an admitted Yamcha fan, and I truly think that Yamcha was a victim of character assassination on the part of Akira Toriyama (who was notorious for forgetting key points of his own series until someone reminded him). Here are my reasons/proof: 1) Yamcha STILL has a phobia of women. Yes, this has been stated by Toriyama as recently as before the Battle of Gods movie. Even in filler, we see this behavior play out. Where he literally freezes up when confronted by other women, like Hasky or Krillin's ex-gf Maron. How would it be possible for a guy w/ a chronic fear of women to be a serial cheater? That would be like someone who's afraid of spiders going out and intentionally catching spiders. You wouldn't see it. I'll post a screen-cap of the interview where Toriyama says this below. 2) Pattern of behavior. Anyone who's seen the og DB series knows that Bulma was the one who always had the wandering eye, not Yamcha. She did it w/ Jackie Chun before she discovered he was an old man; she did it w/ General Blue (WHILE STRIPPING) until she realized he played for the other team; she did it w/ Goku when he showed up for the 23rd world tournament. I can go on & on. We literally even saw her do it to Yamcha in that (filler) baseball episode in Super. No one can point to a single instance in the series of Yamcha looking at other women, so this narrative is false and should be acknowledged as such. Otherwise, we have to at least be honest & admit that Bulma was behaving in a very hypocritical manner, and that if anyone were likely to cheat, it would be her, not Yamcha. 3) Yamcha's sole goal in the series was to get married. I saw Anonymous dismiss this key point w/ anecdotal reasoning of them knowing a married man who cheated. But again, this goes to the first two points I just made. If Yamcha's sole goal was/is to get married, and he still has a phobia of women, then why would he cheat on the ONE woman he isn't afraid of being around? Moreover, if this is such an important plot point and a genuine change in Yamcha's development, why couldn't Toriyama be bothered to ever show it? Because it's NOT a part of Yamcha's character development, him getting married is. It's his sole reason for existing, and Toriyama robbed him of that. Keep in mind, out of all the occasions that Bulma has been mad at Yamcha, she has never outright accused him of being unfaithful herself. We only hear of this through Future Trunks, who's an unreliable source at best because he wasn't born when any of this alleged cheating went down, and Yamcha was already long dead by the time Trunks came of age. Again, if it was so important, why not ever have Bulma make that accusation herself? 4) Bulma had a tendency to over-exaggerate everything. Even her own Mom, Panchy, called her out on this in the manga when she told Goku that the sole reason Bulma was mad at Yamcha was because he was popular w/ other girls. Not because he actually did anything. Again, proof will be included below. Sorry for the wall of text, but this false narrative grinds my gears that fans continue to spread it. So I make it a point to debunk it whenever possible. I'm not trying to say Bulma is a bad person, just saying that we should at least be honest about what we SAW, rather than throw an innocent man under the bus to prop up another person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you think Yamcha really cheated on Bulma or just had a wondering eye? Some fans argue he never did because he's too nice and wanted a family. But I have friends who were married with kids and the husband cheated so that has nothing to do with it. Even if he didn't physically cheat, looking at other girls gets annoying not to mention he'd blow her off w/ no explanation. I think they grew out of each other and decided to end it to keep from hurting each other.
Ummm…
Well, apparently, Yamcha being a cheater IS canon, because I remember an old friendfrom the fandom showing me some interview with Yamcha’s Japanese voice actor, where he specifically mentioned that Toriyama called Yamcha a “cheater” at somepoint.
I honestlydon’t know what happened there, and I do believe that fanfiction vilifiesYamcha a lot, which I think is unfair when it gets excessive.
Ipersonally believe that he may have cheated occasionally, and definitely had awandering eye, but my headcanon is that things eventually faded between thesetwo, probably because it was a “first love” type of relationship, that wasn’ttruly meant to be as they both grew up and became adults.
Of course, Bulmahaving a hot piece of Royal Saiyan ass in her house didn’t help poor Yamcha inhis pursuit of getting Bulma to have his babies…
*ahem*

*smacks table* THANK YOU!
Missed redemption...
And another chance to give Yamcha redemption passes because hes not in the ToP because his 20+ year friends forgot he was alive.
Tumblr media
First it was the chance to refight a powerful wolfman, and prove hes still got… Well… Something?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then the chance to face another feminine warrior and prove he can put his universe ahead of his fears.
Tumblr media
And now the missed chance to show that he could fight and defeat an unseen opponent with maybe a new technique he came up with…
But hey Freeza has… Done… What? Nothing someone else could of done so far as far as I can tell.

Yes, Yamcha is an incredibly neglected character when it comes to Toriyama and Toyotaro remembering his existence. Or even Toei and the anime staff’s inability to recall that he’s good for more than simply rehashing his death pose meme. But to be fair, as far as Super goes, they do show that he still plays baseball, and has apparently grown to like it.
I honestly think that the reason why he’s displayed living in a normal apartment is because people tend to forget that this is a guy who lived for years in the desert. He doesn’t really require or need to live in extravagance, and his living situation certainly shouldn’t be reflective of his financial status. No more than billionaires who dress in middle class clothing should be assumed as being broke or financially destitute.
Yamcha’s money
Something that make me curious is why authors always portray Yamcha as not having money. He always had a dingy apartment and sometimes struggle but I always asked to myself why? He is a baseball super star, why the hell he is broke?
So I come up with the headcannon that he donates most of his money to the town he was from. No one knows, not even the towns people. Thanks to him the orphanage, the school and business are back in track, better than ever.  Only Puarr, and later Tien Chiaotzu, know about it, the rest think he probably dilapidated it until one day they discover it by accident and are blown away.

Indeed, I’ve long thought the same thing. But honestly, that’s the world we live in, where a man’s (negative) experiences and treatment in a relationship at the hands of a woman, is treated either not only unimportant/unworthy to be acknowledged, or is the subject of ridicule.
But what overcooks my grits even more, is that so many fans only agree w/ the “Yamcha cheated” narrative solely because “well Toriyama said so”, and so whatever he said must be gospel. No questioning how the character went from point A to B, let alone any criticism of previously established narratives (I.E. Bulma’s numerous flirtatious behavior), nothing.
Yamcha’s a pos who screwed up his only relationship, and Bulma’s an innocent flower who’s incapable of any wrongdoing. It’s freaking absurd.
The yamcha/bulma hot take nobody asked for

A former Lehigh University student from China who was already facing ethnic intimidation charges against a black dormitory roommate is now accused of attempted homicide by trying to slowly poison him.
Pennsylvania prosecutors said Thursday that Yukai Yang, 22, allegedly poisoned his Lehigh roommate, Juwan Royal, also 22, whose blood tested positive for the chemical thallium after he reported becoming increasingly sick. Yang, a chemistry major, gained access to the toxic chemical that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. In May, Yang was charged with ethnic intimidation, institutional vandalism and criminal mischief after he scrawled the n-word on a desk in the room he shared with Royal, who is black.
Tumblr media
Assistant District Attorney Abe Kassis told NBC News Yang had surreptitiously been slipping the poisonous thallium chemical into Royal’s mouthwash, food and casual beverages he’d find unattended throughout their dorm room. In February, Royal told campus police he felt a burning sensation after drinking from a water bottle in his room. Much of the poison was allegedly secretly placed into food and drinks in their shared dorm room refrigerator.
Royal also became increasingly sick back in March with symptoms of dizziness, vomiting and uncontrollable shaking. During questioning about the racist note left in the room, campus police separately confronted Yang about Royal’s mysterious sickness. Prosecutors said that much like the slow process Yang was using to poison his roommate, Royal slowly realized what was happening.
