When he first arrived to his kingdom he accidentally killed a water spirit that lived there, a massive cod fish that before dying attached itself to the top of his head (curse of binding) and turned the land into a swamp, as well as turning Jimmy into a slime hybrid.

maybe masks are gifted to children at a young age, and its common practice for them to be customised and worn for festivities, so no mask looks the same? maybe they are painted and decorated to suit each individual person

also love the idea of using scales, maybe they make jewellery out of the bones and scales or sew them into clothes? either way such a cool idea

OOOO maybe morticians and mourners wear salmon masks? or adorn something from salmon. maybe something like a sin-eater, where they take on the sins of the deceased and sacrifice a salmon to absolve the spirit.

hmmm, i think something that could be really interesting is the relationship between cod and the citizens. maybe cod are considered very sacred, rarely eaten, even a bit taboo, its common for households to have a pet cod in their home! salmon is a cultural food to eat on special events/holidays (before battle, at a funeral etc)

i caved </3 heres concept designs for my empires!sona

kind of the resident cryptid of rivendell, hes a historian that keeps to himself, only ever really travelling to study the architecture and culture of other kingdoms. gets lost travelling which is usually why people never see him

he lives in the low bit behind the main mountain in a small cottage, where its become a sort of game for young kids to go as close to the house as possible without wimping out. there are rumours about being hexed if you touch the door despite his magic being quite weak unless in specific conditions.
