ok good lord how do i even start this. hm. ok. might as well explain the setting. Alright uhhh Right. Here we go.

Alright, up front instead of writing... Everything here is developed through roleplay! Fluid dynamics revolving around others and not fully controlled by myself... Which is really nice. Things I control and things that are controlled; located within a discord server with like.. 3-5 people (including myself) who have rp'd and directly affected the story(ies). As for the rp itself.. It takes place in the distant future, 2448/9 (depending on when in the rp), where magic is a thing, a whole new set of gods, goddesses, beings, cultures, races, even a new and separate reality. The whole shebang.. The name of the rp? And location of main setting? Arcananem! -Standard school for your host of magical kids. (its not a focal point i promise i swear) -Which are usually late teenagers early adults. -Originally located on its own planet, now hosts at least 1 (one)  city -Beautiful landscape, would be much better as a resort than a school. (actual dialogue, lmao) -Went over an entire year open without any teachers. (nobody wanted to make a teacher oc so it became cannon that there were simply no teachers or school going on) -Now entering its 2nd year with hopes of employing staff. The current history of Arcananem is old and outdated.. As this is the 2nd (main and most used) iteration of 5 different Arcananems (the latter 3 in an effort of making it public. The first one public, and the 2nd one public moved private, which is how it probably has still succeeded after over a year and a half of migrating to the private server. The public renditions clearly never worked out). Despite this however, the main premise remains the same when regarding the history of the school. 4 'Legends' had come together, founding the school and constructing it from the ground up. 4 dorms for 4 legends. Mind Legend: Lou. The Demigod of Kindness. Founder of the Mind Dorm and main advocate for students and funding. Has been missing for a long while as he was out traveling as using his charming attitude and demigod-status to achieve funds. Should be fine for a long while. Sorcery Legend: Taquevi. Main architect of the school, A great example of human will and determination, began her rise to power centuries ago, and yet she stands. Shed of mortal flesh, beautiful as ever. She had always envied the Gods of this realm, so unfairly placed in position of power. She wanted to prove that a human can be level in power, and so she set out to do just that. To gain power by any means possible, yet without the need of cruelty. Sorcery was the best option for this, and within a single lifetime, she had already wormed her way into immortality. Pretty ironic how one day her co-worker would end up being a demigod. Intelligence Legend: Highly Intelligent Virtual Entity model S, Or simply Hives (S). A massive hive networks of robots which original pursuit was that of gathering knowledge. To sum up the history behind Hives S, The Original created the Derivatives, his copies given tasks and certain restrictions, created to better manage and archive information. Soon they all looked beyond our goal: Why store all this if none benefit from it? For this reason they are all collectively the founder of Intel Dorm. Power Legend: We don't talk about this one. (he doesn't exist physically yet. Canonically he does yet... Nobody ever made a character to represent him) That's... Mostly it for Arcananem in itself, located on its own planet featuring a ramshackle school and housing for its students. Located near a city which contains city dwellers and the like, mostly run by A.I. for student's leisure. However, there is still more detail and changes about the universe as a whole, which I feel like should be lumped in here. There is a common tongue (which for rp sake, is simply English but I like to imagine is more in-depth than that). As well as a universal currency, the "Sol". A bit stronger than current currencies such as the US Dollar, British Pound, and Euro. The most important of these being the inclusion of "gods". Powerful entities who control certain aspects. There aren't many confirmed god/goddesses but the knowledge of them exists. Running down the list we have: Luonto - Goddess of Life. Eline (named Leafy) - Animal Demi-Goddess Sieny- Fungi Demi-Goddess Kastvie- Plant Demi-Godess Teirit- Bacteria Demi-God Tiza- Protists Demi-God Mora-Hepit - God of Knowledge Sheb-Hepit - "a happy little accident", Demi-God of.. Something or another. Strong affinity with the Void and Eldritch knowledge, yet nothing is set in stone with her. ???-God(dess) of Emotions Lou- Happiness/Joy Demi-God. ???x- There are at least three other unnamed Demi-Gods who are brothers to Lou, managing Sadness and Anger respectively. However they're very well may be more than just these 3 brothers. Gavel - God of Purity. This is all that has been revealed so far, (well created) when in regards to the realm of Gods. There very much are more they just haven't a need to be fleshed out yet. These'll probably be mentioned again when in regards to important personal. There is of course more than what has been mentioned, but the major one that I incorporated will be discussed later when Ambrosia gets her own time in the spotlight, as realistically it doesn't have much to do with Arcananem, and it is directly taken from a book series. Modified to fit within the realm of the rp, and the time frame. Although it does add the inclusion of the Void. A place between realms and universes. Which multiple exists. Kitsune's are very real and prominent within the world, and each estate exists in their own "Worldlet", separate from the physical universe which we'd find ourselves in, and where Arcananem takes place. Then there's The House, a massive well, functionally infinitely expansive realm layered which is taken from The Keys to the Kingdom, the 7 book series written by Garth Nix, and the wonderful world that brings. In fact, the series is canonical to the Arcananem universe. Having taken place in 2050-2100 on Earth (Oh yeah! I need to talk about Earth), with Ambrosia, an oc of mine, originates from. Being a denizen of Miss Saturday (who is Leaf from the book series, as this is the future to then yes. This will be discussed more when I reach Ambrosia). Regardless, I'm getting ahead of myself. That's another prominent location which will be discussed later. Finally, Earth itself has gone through a lot of changes. It's become mostly inhabitable, with an extinction level event occurring to the planet, within the past 15-25 years. A terrible tragedy, but as humans aren't a prominent species within the Universe (contrary to the oc's), it's not a focal point and on everybody's mind. Life still exists, human settlements survived of course, but earth in itself is generally regarded as Fucked. This is basically it, to the current Universe of Arcananem, nothing is truly set in stone (hell the entire concept of Gods, a now core and major part of the rp and the universe was only brought about recently) but as far as things go, this is what is pretty concrete and whole.

to everyone else in school right now: 

please use sparknotes. please use khan academy. please listen to school house rock songs and watch the history of the entire world i guess and tim and moby and bill nye. any documentary you watch in class can be found somewhere online with a quick google. get your books from project gutenberg and z-lib. download textbooks off the internet whenever you can find them. use desmos for a free online graphing calculator. if you’re learning something and you don’t get it look up the wikipedia page on it and put it into simple english to get the gist, then put it back into regular english to get the full story. cheat if you have to. school sucks so bad rn and if you’re like me and you get all your materials secondhand or from the lost and found, online resources are really useful rn; all of the above have helped me pass a class in some way, and i hope they can help you too.
