A thing I like about Kaider is that both Cinder and Kai seem like the type to try and keep doing stuff (ie. work) even when they’re sick or not feeling well enough, and the best part is that both of them are also the type to insist that the other rest when they’re sick. I can see Cinder trying to persist and fix something while sick with a fever, and Kai has to basically drag her to bed to get her to rest because #stubborngirl. And vice versa

Oh for sure. They are complete hypocrites when it comes to working while sick. It's fine if they do it, but if the other does, they basically force them into bed at gunpoint. Kai threatens Cinder that if she doesn't rest, then he'll keep working the next time he's sick. When it's the opposite, I guess Cinder could literally force him to bed at gunpoint with her tranquilliser gun 😂 Nah, she'd probably just give him one of those scary looks that canonically make him feel like he "isn't worth a grain of salt" and that gets him to rest.

As an Asian (Chinese) person, I don’t particularly mind Chinese characters being played by actors who are a slightly different Asian ethnicity. As long as they’re (Asian obviously) and respectful of the role, the cultural, and actually suit the part, then I don’t mind. Of course, in an ideal world it’d be perfect to give the opportunity to an actor who not only looks the part but also has the same background and heritage, but realistically, you often have to pick and choose. I think (correct me if I’m wrong) the live action Mulan movie had a Korean actress instead of a Chinese one. Personally, I feel like they could’ve found a Chinese actress for the role, but hey, it’s better than her being a whole white person I suppose. Either way that remake was pretty dookie besides that

Oh yeah I don't have a problem with that either, I just figured with the amount of fresh-faced teenage Chinese actors around that it shouldn't be difficult to find one who could play Kai. And from what I can see online, the actress who played Mulan is Chinese, not Korean.

It's not stated in canon that Kai is part Japanese, that's just a fandom headcanon to explain the fact that he has a Japanese name. In canon, all we have to go off is the fact that he is from New Beijing, therefore presumably Chinese.

After not being able to give Peony the antidote, she could've left but NO she gave the antidote to Sunto!
