You know, lately I've been wondering--do you think Cinder and Kai would have a second outfit for their reception? It's pretty common nowadays in East Asian weddings to wear traditional clothes and then change into Western wedding clothes. And royalty basically always have outfit changes at their weddings. If that's the case, I think they'd either change into simpler yet still traditional clothes, or the Western black suit and white dress--though I imagine Cinder would go for a simple white dress (like the one pictured) since her ceremony dress was already elaborate.

Someone should draw this but Kaider in their formal or Eastern Commonwealth attire, please it would be so cute 👹

@cinderswirecutters Wow, this oldie makes a reapperance! I still can't believe that I'm still getting requests for a sequel for this fic after almost five years 😂 I'm so glad you enjoyed it! In the longer AU I had in mind for this fic, Selene does end up getting burnt in some way, so the fire references were meant to foreshadow that (even though I never intended to write more lol). Selene lay languidly across a chaise, stowed away in the comforts her chosen hideout had to offer. The room was pristine, with not a granule of dirt to be found in any crevice of carpet or lounge. It was typical of royal residences of course, and Selene had no choice but to find the stiffness normal, having never known otherwise.

Her fingers absentmindedly toyed with the pages of a book she had procured from the palace library. It almost felt like thievery, which was mostly ridiculous—she was the crown princess of Luna, she could take a book without consequence. But while that may have accounted for much on Luna, on earth it only granted so many liberties.

Selene could mostly do whatever she pleased on Luna, having free domain over the palace and a decent amount of input in the court’s proceedings. Even more so, she supposed, due to her mother’s doting. Channary may be largely unbothered by the complex political nature and responsibilities of her role, but she was adamant on defending her power. This mostly extended to parties with their colour schemes and endless insatiability, but also included her first born daughter.

I have to ask, 50 for cinder and kai?

50 - A memory they've blocked out.

For Cinder, canonically it's the fire. She has no recollection of the actual events, only the feeling of burning. I think she tries to block out the memory of her unintentionally killing the police officer in France, but it's something she could never truly forget.

For Kai, I imagine his memories of his mum's death are vague and fuzzy, partly because of his age at the time and also because he's blocked some of it out due to the traumatic circumstances. He also tries to block out the memory of Cinder bleeding out on the throne room floor. I actually think that scene is the most panicked we ever see him in the series. It would definitely give him nightmares.

For a more humorous take, I like to think that Kai blocks out his entire wedding/marriage to Levana. He does not want to remember that he was ever married to that woman. And it works to an extent--someone will call Cinder his 'second wife' and he gets offended: "Cinder is the only woman I've ever married!" Then when they mention Levana, his face drops: "Oh. Right. Her."

There seriously needs more classic date Kaider oneshots. Whether it’s an evening at the carnival or a cute dinner picnic, those two literally have the perfect dynamic and personalities for that classic teenagers-in-love kind of date. Forget being royalty for a sec and go back to the grey hoodie down-low vibes

Oh definitely. They deserve some time where they can go on normal dates like any other couple. Before the biolock is really in use, they would be able to go out relatively unnoticed as Cinder could glamour their appearance. However once the biolock becomes common it would be harder to avoid fans and paparazzi. They try to ignore it and continue with their outings in New Beijing City, going to restaurants, exhibitions, walking around parks. By the next morning, the newsfeeds are full of pictures of the two of them. I think that in time, it happens so often that the majority of people stop caring. Like: "Emperor Kaito and Empress Selene spotted holding hands and kissing by the river!" "Yeah, same thing happened last Tuesday, who cares?"

And hopefully people don't bother them too much while they're out. One time, some creepy guy tries to jump them and Cinder full-on judo flips him over her shoulder (she keeps up her training with Wolf). So people learn not to cross them. As I mentioned in one of my fics, Cinder being scary would definitely have its pros at times.

Well Sister Anon, since my last fic in April I have been reading more, practising more music, and writing away. In fact, I have been writing so much that I've written a fic that 50k words and counting. Turns out, the less time I spend on tumblr, the more I write. The bad news for some of you is that it's not a TLC fic...sorry 🥺. I set out to write like 10k words and...yeah, it snowballed from there. Once I finish writing that I will begin to tackle the tremendous task of editing my 100k word multichapter TLC fic. Maybe I'll write a one-shot in the meantime, I don't know. I figure you guys can survive without me posting a fic for 6 months if need be. I do also have some TLC ideas to write out one day in the future. Anyway, nothing much else to report!

i feel like they had potential but wouldn't last in the long run

tbh Cinder and Thorne are just total siblings to me. I get why some people like them as a couple, and it doesn't really bother me, but personally I don't ship them as anything but BFFs. I also feel that sometimes when male and female characters have any type of chemistry, people will automatically ship them, even though platonic banter can exist.

I forget who it was that I saw say this, but Kai totally looks like Jinu from the new Sony/Netflix movie Kpop Demon Hunters! Wiki also said that his character was roughly based on Cha Eunwoo who I think you said reminds you of him. The sharp features, the hair, and the charm? I can’t believe an animated guy could look so good. Also 10/10 movie

I haven't heard of that before, but from what I can see online, he does look a bit like Kai! Eun Woo does give me partial Kai vibes, but as I've said before, whenever I see him I can only see Cha Eun Woo, not the characters he plays 😂
