Almost immediately his head snapped back to where she stood, shoulders squaring themselves, and feet angling themselves in; a fighter’s stance. It wasn’t that they hadn’t been friends in their academy years, but this had been a long time since then. At least for the other.

 ” And how about abandoning little snot-nosed brat? ”

Watching his head quickly turn to face her, Master said nothing, although her amber-brown eyes remained on him. His piercing eyes stared back at her, with an expression with the power to send shivers down her spine, though she refused to let it show.

she said, slowly walking towards him, amusement thick in her tone.

Standing directly in front of him she pushed her lips in to a pale frown, and said.

She liked to play, then. He had long outgrown his old games, left behind that arrogant attitude of his, but he knew he’d have to play in order to get her answer. He’d done this quite a bit.

   In fact, she reminded him of an old demon he knew. Meg, her name was. Someone he liked.

 ” Shall I call you something else that fits your fancy? ”

The corners of her mouth curved in to a small smile. She pushed her weight from the controls and pushed one foot in front of another, slowly stepping in closer towards him.

 An uncomfortable silence fell between them for a tick, the boy turning his head, as if to calm himself.

  ” Enlighten me then, kitten. ” 

The Master pressed her back against the controls, stretching out long legs and spoke, looking around the TARDIS. The angrier he fell, the more amused the felt. It was just the sort of relationship they had.

— ❝ Kitten, huh? ❞

a smirk started playing at the corner of her lips.

The master sighed, letting out all the air in her lungs and slowly turned, facing the unwanted company.

— ❝ what do you want? I'm busy. Blowing up the planet and that. ❞
