In a male dominated society like ours it isn’t always easy for a girl to be independent and work outside on something that is considered as taboo.
This is a story of a girl named Kamrunnesa Mira who works for girls on their period by donating hygienic sanitary napkins. a girl who just graduated from University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. She runs a foundation called “All for one” where she donates napkins to those girls who cannot afford it.
Her journey started in 2016 when she had to go to such area where she couldn’t find pads when she had period there and she was told to use cloth with sands by the women of that area. She became more anxious when she got to know that girls were missing school because of this reason. The girls were using cloths and because they had to change it every two hours they used to miss school on period. So the idea of “All for one” planned here, Mira wanted no girls miss school during period and wanted to help them with safe hygienic pads. So she after returning from there posted on social media whether anybody would like to help these non privileged girls by donating money to buy them pads and she got a very good response. That made her more stronger with this plan. She opened a group on 26th March where people comes to help them.

Gradually their group became of 7 members and they started their first educational session on April 2018. They tried on so many schools and faced rejection because of the topic being a taboo. Finally a school in Mirpur Dhamalkot Adorsho High School gave them permission eagerly. They along with a doctor went to the school to teach the students about menstrual hyegiene, safe touch, self defense and community leadership. They also provided them with free health checkup and monthly menstrual kit. This was her first success and after that she never had to look behind.
Though the primary motto of All for one is to work with womens period but they are teaching 20 non privileged school every month about period and safe touch. Classes under 5 are being prepared for period. They have 86 volunteers now with 7109 non privileged women and girls under them. All for one provides pads in schools so that any girl during periods can avail it and do not miss school. The pad box is called "Padbank". They are working on Sylhet and Rajshahi areas too.
Their motto now is not only educating and helping non privileged women on period but also educating male child about it. The funding she is making is mostly from social media. Also the educators, doctors and volunteers are found from social media. Outside Dhaka the people are being taught by digital lab online.
