my sweet angel francis, the most beloved baby in all of chicago, was hospitalized yesterday and had to undergo emergency surgery after a severe intestinal blockage. this has been an incredibly physically, mentally, and financially exhausting experience and i have been incredibly overwhelmed. a lot of lovely friends have pitched in to help me cover vet costs and the work i had to take off of to sit in the er with him, and the relief it has provided me has been amazing.

i notoriously hate to ask for help, but if you can even spare a couple dollars to help offset these unexpected expenses, i would be so grateful. i still have quite a long way to go, as the surgery and post-operative care has been more intense and expensive than initially anticipated. my venmo is elevamy, and for paypal/etc you can message me privately to sort something out.

I feel like y’all are two trends away from reinventing female hysteria

i just feel like it would be good if we as a lesbian community spent more time critically examining and attempting to dismantle the system of gender that’s oppressed us our whole lives, rather than finding new places to slot ourselves into within it. this is not a criticism of butch/femme dynamics. it’s a gentle criticism of the attempt to fit those dynamics, as well as all of our individual presentations, into labeled categories based on a heteropatriarchal and heteronormative system.
