Sometimes all a girl needs is her emotional support lawnmower (don't worry it's licensed)
She was so hard to figure out for some reason even though her design is so simple.
At first I wanted to give her Gogo boots, then chucks, but alas, the original is still peak. I wanted her to look playful, but professional, I think I managed that, somewhat. She's definitely a miniskirt person, probably not in the dress code, but what are they going to do? Fire her? In this economy?
Her full name is Veronica, but she thinks her full name is "too serious" so she's very adamant about being referred to as "Ronnie"

Huzzah, traditional sketches be upon ye!!

Using my gender beam again on yet another grim Reaper.
This time it's our dear Mrs. Spears from the Management division of the grim reaper dispatch.
Also designed her an outfit for the circus arc.
(that fuckass scythe of hers, ISTG)
All I can say is that this woman is destined to wear a pencil skirt and shoulder pads and those were like the first things that came to me when I was thinking of her design.
Regarding for names: I haven't settled, but think something like Whitney or Willow would fit her. Whatever it is, her coworkers are not allowed to use it and the only one who's brave enough to do it is Grelle.

Kuro Shinigami headcannons, because I said so (aka. Me trying to expand on the cannon lore):
-As stated by Sasha, the Shinigami are not seen by regular people. I do however think that they appear as "filler people" to average citizens. I imagine them to have the presence similar to chatter at a cafe. You know that it's there, but can't really make out what anyone is saying. Shinigami are not recognised nor acknowledged as individuals. If you ask an average pedestrian about any distinguishing feature they have, they'd not be able to mention any. Simply said, they don't stick out, they are part of a crowd of people.
Once again, as canonically stated. People who are close to death in some way are able to distinguish them.
-In order not cause mass panic/hysteria in places where multiple deaths occur (aka. many people suddenly being able to acknowledge strangely dressed people around them), Shinigami take on disguises to blend in, often for long periods of time. Certain coworkers sometimes see eachother in vastly different disguises to exchange information. which can look weird.
-The range of disguises taken on is wide and certainly interesting. Many struggle to adapt, especially if they have to disguise themselves in roles they are incredibly unfamiliar with.
> adding on to this: Grelle (despite her chaotic nature) is actually considered the most convincing for the disguises she's taken on. Her acting skills are a valuable asset to the company. If it weren't for her "loose cannon" approach to- well everything, she'd be a stellar employee.
-adding on to the Grelle lore: I hc that she always wanted to be an actress when she was alive, but never could because of her obligations. I imagine that she was a noble, who could only watch plays but never participate.
>adding onto this again, here's a short summary of what I think the other Shinigami did when they were alive:
Ronald: University student
William: Governor
Alan: Florist
Eric: Brewer
Othello: Pharmacist
Sasha: photographer/Journalist
Ludger: Hes a difficult one tbh, probably a waiter???
Undertaker: it would be mad funny if he was an undertaker before he died as well.
-They have no real concept of relevant fashion trends. Being in Victorian England while also working in an office from the 60s (in terms of design, As seen in the OVA) can be confusing. Now add on that most Shinigami are in service for multiple decades and the result is a wardrobe that is either far out of date or a bit too ahead of its time.
-Every Shinigami has a small skull accessory somewhere on their uniform. (Ex. Grelle and her glasses chain or Alan with his skull brooch).
-A lot of Shinigami actually go through phases of self discovery during their service. With decades time on ones hand and a more modern/advanced work setting, many discover themselves in a more open and accepting environment. While self expression is not encouraged, many Shinigami try a new style (within the uniform regulations)

Morningscape
Mornings at 97 Weston Avenue, Apartment #5 and subsequently at the Victoria Mall usually follow the same pattern each day, and Edward has the routine down to a science now.
7:15 AM. Alarm sounds. Edward rolls over, yawns, and shuts it off; if he's not quick enough, he gets a pillow directly to the face. Despite his half-asleep state and his bed being against the opposite wall, Cheslock's aim is formidable.
7:19 AM. Edward brushes his teeth, washes his face, and changes into his sweatpants and hoodie. His jogging clothes are folded neatly on his bedside table, making it easy for him to access them in the dark. There's a deal in place: Cheslock isn't allowed to let his pet rats into the room, and Edward isn't allowed to open the blackout curtains over the window before Cheslock's had his coffee.
7:21 AM. Edward goes for a two-mile jog around the neighborhood. He meets up with Greenhill- a friend of his and the manager of the sports equipment store where they work- at the dog park, and they do a few laps of the trail together. Greenhill's own morning workout starts at 6:00 AM, which Edward admires but doesn't feel up to doing just yet.
8:00 AM. After heading back to the apartment and taking a quick shower, Edward gets dressed for the day and starts cooking breakfast. Scrambled eggs on toast and a protein shake for himself, coffee for Cheslock. He's given up on trying to make Ches actually eat a proper meal first thing in the morning and simply makes some extra food. Nature will take its course.
8:15 AM. Cheslock comes into the kitchen and slumps over the back of Edward’s chair, wrapping his arms around Edward’s shoulders and burying his face in his hair.
“Good morning, Cheslock,” Edward says, after swallowing a bite of egg and bread. “Sleep well?”
“Hmrphlllmmghph.”
“Coffee’s on the counter.”
“Mmmphhh.”
8:22 AM. Edward finishes most of his breakfast and lets Cheslock steal the last piece of toast. After a cup and a half of caffeine, the latter is slightly more awake and has managed to open his eyes all the way.
8:25 AM. Edward puts the dishes in the sink and gives Cheslock a quick hug goodbye before heading out to catch the bus. His shift at Green's Sporting Goods starts at 8:45, but Edward likes to be at the Victoria Mall a few minutes early just in case. He uses this time to check his texts and emails on his phone- Lizzy usually sends him a cheery good morning missive.
8:40 AM. Edward arrives at the mall and heads upstairs to Green's Sporting Goods. Greenhill is already there and greets him. Edward gets to work; sprucing up the place and straightening merchandise for the first customers of the morning to walk in.
10:30 AM. Cheslock shows up for his shift. Ultra-Violet Tattoos and Piercings is right across the walkway from Green's Sporting Goods, which sometimes makes Greenhill complain that Edward gets distracted, but Edward's usually pretty good about keeping his eyes on his own work.
10:45 AM. Edward gets a 10-minute break, which he uses to grab a drink and stretch his legs a little.
12:00 PM. Lunchtime. Cheslock always prepares and brings lunch for the two of them. He's a fairly good cook, even if the food he makes is sometimes a little on the ‘experimental’ side. Edward has since learnt that peanut butter, jelly, and mustard isn't actually that bad a sandwich combination. They're occasionally joined in the break room by their managers and other mall employees- Bluewer and Clayton from Midnight Owl Bookshop, and Redmond and Harcourt from Maison des Roses. The latter two always smell nice.
Life is good. Edward enjoys these mornings.

POV: Grim reaper lesbians really hate your vibe and want you dead.
This is the first step to slowly indoctrinating my followers into fem!Shinigami propaganda (since, as Yana stated for the Weston arc: it would have been more interesting if they were women)
I don't know if starting out with the least known characters was the best idea but oh well-
(Also, wow it's been almost a month since I last posted some of my art. With me being out of my home country (and prepping to return), life has been hectic and I have far too much labour on my hands to draw anything high quality. However, I have made plenty of sketches/doodles that I am not fully satisfied with, but I have to get over it.)
Allow me to delve deeper into this concept:
Simply said: I need more supernatural women in Kuro. Grelle can't be the only non-human woman who can kick ass. I NEED MORE!!! The only other supernatural women (not counting bizzare dolls) we had were a WHOPPING 2(two)!!! and were only in the anime. One of them was a man 80% of the time and the other one was constantly abused and overtly sexualised. Not great...
And Grelle, literally the only supernatural woman who's a somewhat consistent character is constantly misgendered and disrespected.
Long story short. I decided to take matters into my own hands. And what better place to start than with the "totally not gay (trust me they were besties)" tragedy that is was Kuromyu2. It's been 13 years but I'm not still not over it.
It would be really cool for Grelle to have more women around her, who gender her correctly and treat her with (SOME) respect.(I also think women in suits are cool but that's besides the point)
#really love how they met Sebastian for the first time. stood there in a dramatically and then immediately started swinging at him.#kuroshitsuji#black butler#vio speaks#kuroshitsuji fanart#vio draws#vios genderbends#alan humphries#eric slingby#kuromyu2#the most beautiful death in the world
