I drew Fen'Harel from Dragon Age: Inquisition. I referenced a mural from the game, specifically the scene where the Elves are freed from their Vallaslin.

Was thinking about how much I love how important the writers made Davrin within the story, but also within the in-universe history of Thedas.

He is the guardian of the only remaining griffons; he killed an Archdemon; he helped to end a double Blight, and consequently prevent any more Blights from occurring (as far as we understand wrt the lore). I think that he is the most important Warden in contemporary Thedas (yes, including The Warden).

Also love the in-universe historical parallels between him and Garahel. A elven Warden, bonded with a griffon, who killed an Archdemon, ended a Blight, and became a legendary hero + face of the Order. I expect that his name would become at least as revered as Garahel's, throughout the continent.

I love that they decided to draw that parallel, and I love how deliberately they chose to position him in the narrative.

dragon age origins definitely collected analytic data from playthroughs of the game, correct? is anyone aware of any statements the developers have made regarding what they were able to gather about player choices and point me to where I can find them?

Rook Week: Ingellvar

One of the two Rooks I'm playing right now is timid yet stubborn Briar Ingellvar, who really has no business leading anything at all, but here we are.

She loves kitties, dragons, spirits, and blue skies, but really hates skeletons and undead. This tiny Mourn Watcher is only 17 at the start the Veilguard, and deeply looks up to Varric, like family.

She's not quite comfortable in her skin, and doesn't love being called a girl, but it is what it is, right? She's going to really enjoy Taash when they finally meet.

She slips up every now and then: there's definitely more to Briar than meets the eye.

Briar Ingellvar is my Rook for a, AU longfic "Iron and Ice" that I'm (slowly) working on that features a slow-burn Neve Gallus x Vivienne de Fer romance, where Vivienne comes in and out of the Veilguard as something of an advisor and ally.

Useless Veilguard fact of the day: Day 146

Based on some cut content, it's possible that the game originally intended to provide players with three options for Rook's voice pitch: high, medium, and low (in the shipped game, only the medium and low pitches are availiable).

Some audio files contain voiceovers for high-pitched versions of lines performed by American voice actors. You can find listen to one example below (VO in medium and low pitches also provided for comparison).
