Welcome, one and all, to the Incident Overhaul AU. First written (luckily never published anywhere) by yours truly back in November 2023 (back when my hyperfixation was young), the original variation of Incident Overhaul was...less than well-made, and very rushed in some parts. Nevertheless, it was a project of passion...and a sequel that never truly got finished. So now I'm here, trying to restart my love for the fanfiction that once brought me such joy to make.

SUMMARY OF THIS AU:

This AU takes place in an alternate timeline to the canon series, where, after Jax's complaints of little to no violence exhibited in the Candy Carrier Chaos adventure, Caine decides to show a charitable side and create more grisly adventures pertaining to the rabbitoid's wishes. This unintentionally feeds into the rabbit's insatiable lust for carnage and destruction, and only increasingly strengthens his wanting for more. No matter where he goes, what he does, his hunger for indulging in such horrific happenings can never be satiated. He'll do whatever it takes to cause more destruction. Finally vanquish that itching, burning desire for stimulation skulking deep in the pits of his hunger-scarred stomach.

...Even if "whatever it takes" means penetrating what fickle ones and zeroes form the entire digital hellscape as he knows it, so as to claim a very special tool that will surely aid him in this conquest. No matter how morally wrong his actions may be.

After all, there's nothing quite like a Ruger 22 pistol to help you get what you want.

But this story is not about Jax.

Rather, this is the story of one of the victims who endured the collateral damage of his heinous deeds.

...When she seems to have no one left in the circus to help uncover the dangerous secrets lurking within - and the parasitic abnormality slowly consuming her world as she knows it whole - how will Pomni survive the oncoming consequences of a "friend"'s actions that only she is left to face, while everything that she knows slowly falls to pieces?

EXTRA INFORMATION

This AU will be chapter-based, beginning with a prologue and ending with an epilogue (possibly more than one to showcase different endings). The fanfiction will be posted both here and on AO3 (my AO3 account is @theartofdissonance).

This AU will include shipping. Quite a lot of it. Romance is one of the main character drives. This story is primarily based around Buttonblossom (Pomni x Ragatha), but there are also tasters of Abstragedy (Gangle x Zooble) and a few more ships that I will update this category to state once we get to that part of the story.

Some individuals may be out-of-character at some points, but you can pass that off as the tendency for my characterization to slowly decline further as my stories progress. (I'm working on it, I promise-)

Please remember that I'm trying to portray some of the more serious topics listed here as respectfully as I can. I've suffered from declining mental health and suicidal thoughts myself, and so, for the most part, I am taking reference from my own struggles as a guide.
