When Astarion is talking about how Cazador starved him, giving him only as much blood as he needed to function, he says this:

"I existed. That was enough for him."

Meaning Cazador valued him only as a tool.

The relationship he forms with Tav/Durge is the exact opposite, though the words could be the same.

You exist. That is enough for me.

Meaning they demand nothing of him. He doesn't need to be anything other than himself in order to be loved and valued.

Red Velvet

This art was also made because I wanted to give Astarion an earring. Abyssus wears matching one too. I started to play with composition and decided to put them all on playing cards. Where Astarion is King, Vapula is Red Queen and Abyssus is Ace

Red Velvet is a name I gave to Vapula and Astarion's pairing long ago, because their color palette makes them intercolored. His red eyes - Her white eyes. His pale almost white skin and white hair - Her reddish skin and red hair. Together they make a perfect red velvet cake

I also made this version with just the two of them. If they made music band together I bet this could be a good album cover haha
