Dull brown eyes flickered down towards her, his frown easing but there was still hints of a melancholy sadness lingering around him.
"I require no such thing, though your kindness is appreciated, my Lady" He replied quietly. "My thoughts are yours if you so wish to hear them" The powerful man assured her, nodding in gratitude at the kind approach. He was used to being belittled by his fellow officers and thought a beast by the noble women.
Not that it mattered, it was not what bothered him in the least.
"No... The things of the battlefield should be kept where they were" He finally stated decisively.
"Forgive me, I was merely contemplating Lord Guo Huai's unfortunate departure"

LotusOfWei has entered the Map Room
While to some it may have been terrifying to see this man like this, to her, it was something else entirely, especially since she trying to understand what it is that was going in his head to cause that frown.
Thinking about it, she had no reason to really intrude, but whatever was there on his mind to cause such a face could be discussed… and she did not approach him just yet, not until she had picked a few of the flowers in order to step in front of him and hold them up in a way he couldn’t ignore. “A flower for your thoughts?” She asked and offered a wide smile, though she finally lowered them now that she had his attention, and lightly counted each flower and petal. “Although… this is quite enough flowers for quite a few thoughts now that I think about it.” She laughed lightly before holding them out again towards him. “So flowers for every thought you wish to get off of your chest. How’s about that? You seem to have a few on your mind right now, my Lord.”

LotusOfWei has entered the Map Room
Deng Ai had not been paying attention to the petite girl, his focus aimed elsewhere as a rarely seen frown was etched into his face.
To some it may have been terrifying. A man of his physique and height standing out in the gardens, a rough contrast to a beautiful landscape, arms crossed and still as ever, the only occasional movement was the tensing of a muscle or the ruffling of hair by the cool breeze.

Shi Bao, the man who had accompanied him laughed. "I told ya yer scary" He continued to laugh, but Deng Ai was trying his best to ignore him.
However, Deng Ai's gaze fell upon the doll in her hands and it struck him as awfully familiar yet he could not place where he had seen those traits. Deciding that it wasn't any of his business, he gave Shi Bao some money to get rid of him for a while until he found this girl's parents.
"I'm Deng Ai, but you can call me Shizai. Do you want to tell me where you need to go? Can I help you find your papa?" Honestly he felt ridiculous trying to soften his gruff tone and use simplistic words, but he liked children and it was his duty to help everyone in the town.

The poor child did her best to hide again, even when the man would kneel for her own convenience. He was just way too big, and with other Scary People. What a frightening thing that is for the little child. Her Dollie would protect her, hiding her face with the rather intricate doll.

“… Mmhm…” was the only sound she made.

Deng Ai had not noticed the small girl trying her best to be brave and get past. He was too occupied speaking quietly with one of the other generals when the man suddenly pointed towards her and Deng Ai turned around sharply, cinnamon eyes falling upon her.
A look of pure surprise crossed his face before he squatted down to her height, hoping to decrease from his size a little.
"Hello there little princess, are you lost?" He asked, his gaze kind yet full of concern.
indifferentprecisions

There were so many tall and scary people today… But she would be alright. Little Jiang Ming would be perfectly fine, as she would flit across the streets, wondering which way to go to see her friend.
But, there was such a large person standing right near her… That all the little girl could do was stare at him with her pretty green eyes and pray that he would move away. He was Scary.

"It is not something you should be worried about, however I am concerned about you, is there something troubling you? You appear rather distracted" He pointed out.

Yin: I didnt mean to be rude, I am sorry.. -looks at the table, thinking of her brother-

Lord-Of-The-Capital has entered the Map Room
The large general was standing with his back to the door, hunched over a parchment of some sort and adding curves and lines and labels that had been memorised to the already table sized map. However, when he heard the sound of footsteps, he set his brush down and turned to look at the young man.
"Hello there, do you need something, young man?" He asked, he was not sure if he had seen the youth somewhere, but his gaze was gentle and kind despite the years of wisdom and power that were engraved into his skin.

Deng Ai was not really amused by her reference to his height, he knew that it intimidated most people, but he always felt nervous when people talked about him.
"6 foot 7" He replied simply. "Now if you could please focus so that I know what you require training in"

Yin: Not at all… -sits down and slowly sips the tea, she slowly studied the mans phisique- Mind if I ask how tall are you?

ArmouredDevotion has entered the Map Room
Deng Ai was on lunch break when the young man had shown up, a meat bun currently occupying his mouth, one of his hands holding a cup of tea whilst the other was writing away upon a parchment.
Indeed he was a busy man, but it seemed that he had grown accustomed to multi-tasking after so many years.
Scoffing down his food rather ungracefully, he made a sigh of relief turning his attention to the youth.
"Xiahou Ba, are you skipping training again?" He asked in a light tone that indicated he was not being serious.

Deng Ai looked down at the woman in slight surprise. "I see, please sit down, I will be required to test you on some basic things before we proceed to your extra training course... Will that be a problem?" The man asked, setting a cup of tea down for her and offering her some meat buns.

Yin: I am Wen Yin, master Sima Shi sent me here for some extra training..

SandaXYukimura has entered the Map Room
It had been a rather uneventful day in the Wei kingdom, all preparations temporarily halted for some banquet or the other but Deng Ai was one of the few individuals who were still busy all year round.
The large man was carrying a pile of finished paper work that he meant to give in for filing when he almost ran into the Japanese warrior. He paused abruptly, a look of surprise and concern crossing his face all at once.
"Forgive me, I did not see you there young man. Are you alright?" He was extremely grateful that he hadn't crushed Yukimura otherwise there might have been some severe injuries to be taken care of.

Empress-Zhen has entered the Map Room
Metal plated fingers slid over his gauntleted knuckles as he lowered his head in respect to the woman, cinnamon coloured eyes focused upon the floor in apparent obedience or perhaps shame at the state of the room. Maps, scrolls and parchments that had yet to dry hung around the place, on tables and chairs or pinned on walls and there was very little light entering the room for the window's shutters had been drawn closed despite the warm weather and only shards of its rays peeked in through the gaps, pooling onto the floor in unsequenced patterns.
"Good morning, my Lady, please forgive the state of my office... I was not expecting anyone" He was rather busy too, but he had not excuses for the mess.
"Might I provide you with any assistance?"

The tactician shook his head, giving her a respectful bow.
"Please, my Lady, there is no need to apologise" He assured her, his visage as serious as it always had been, in fact it was difficult to tell if he had ever smiled or displayed emotion ever in his life.
"You appear distraught, has someone or something been bothering you?" He asked as he retrieved a cup pouring some tea for her and setting it down after clearing some maps away. A little hurriedly, he set her a chair and indicated for her to sit down.
"Have some tea and then we can talk if you wish"

You have entered the Map Room
Oh great. She wandered off again.
Still, she didn’t expect to be here, in this room lined with shelves and maps, and… more maps.
It’s quite early in the morning too, so it surprised her to see someone already holding a brush and working on what looked to be a map.
"M-Master Deng Ai… forgive me for the intrusion," the mystic quietly said as she bowed.

"That would be me, my Lady" He replied, looking at down at her. She seemed familiar to him somehow, but he did not know where he might have seen her.

Yin: Sorry to bother you... I am looking for someone named Deng Ai...

This-Sworn-Lullaby has entered the Map Room
"Good morning, Lady Sima" Deng Ai bowed to the petite girl, his shoulders sinking slightly into a more relaxed position as a faint smile tugged on his lips.
"Is there something I can possibly offer to help you with?" He asked absent mindedly as he continued to tidy away several parchments, keeping his dull brown eyes on her as though awaiting an answer.

"You like that, huh?"
The bunny was surprisingly responsive, as though he understood what Deng Ai was saying, but perhaps it was just coincidence.
"I think you might be a little hungry with all your bouncing around, you must have come a long way, Shiji" It felt funny to call a bunny by that man's style name, after all, he always called Zhong Hui by formality of clan.
Picking the petite creature up, he turned to head inside where it was warmer and he could find something for the rabbit to nibble on that didn't include his maps.

*stares at bunny Shiji*

Pretends to be dead, screaming internally.

The early morning hours were not treated fairly for they were abused by the tactician instead of being rightfully applied to sleep like most other generals would often be doing right now.
But the silence was a beautiful melody to him, accentuated by the actions of his brush as though he were painting to the sound. However, as majestic and appealing as it seemed to him, anyone who walked in would only see a large man leaning over a map, his ink brush working at the detail and fineness of the labels, borders and terrain indicated on the parchment.
Hearing the door slide open distracted him from his momentary peace and he looked up to find the least expected kind of visitor standing there before him.

"This is not the place for you, my Lady. Is there anything you need?" Indeed, such a woman did not belong in the unimaginatively decorated room where maps, scrolls and books lined every shelf and wall, hiding the creamy white walls behind their annotation.
