Sunshine (Kink Remix) - Unit 2

A proper hands in the air summer anthem, courtesy of Kink on remix duties. Makes you want to book your ticket to Ibiza right away!

I Feel So (Original Mix) - Montel, Citizenn.

A prime time floor destroyer from Hot Since 82′s label Knee Deep in Sound. This track builds subtly before the rave stab breakdown that sent dance floors across the globe into a frenzy. Laser and strobe definitely required!

LF10 (Original Mix) - Dusky

Another fine production from Dusky who can do no wrong at present. This track conjures up nostalgia with its Detroit-esque strings and rave documentary samples, but is firmly rooted in today with it's driving baseline and beats.

The Age of Love (Solomun Renaissance Remix) - Age Of Love

One should always try and add a classic into any set, so this year we have included a remix of a classic that caught our ears. There have been many remixes of AOL over the years with varying success, but this one hits the spot with the right balance of keeping key original parts, but adding the remixers slant onto the track.

Movin’ through the gears... here is the next installment of our tracks of the year.

Guede (Joyce Muniz Remix) - DJ Hell

A hypnotic slice of edgy tech house brought to you by DJ Hell, with Joyce Muniz on remix duties. A superb mid set builder to take things deep.

Vale - Bicep

Its been a pretty special year for Bicep, with the release of their self titled debut album, dropping the dance floor destroyer Aura and their fantastic Essential Mix just this month. We could have chosen any one of their releases or remixes this year such was the quality, but Vale stood out due to its atmospheric, vocal led breakbeats. A real nod back to the ‘90s with its production but sounding fresh as a daisy. Top stuff all round!

Out Of Time (Original Mix) - Sasha, Polica

Its fair to say Mr Coe has had somewhat of a “McConaissance” this year. Threatened with falling into the nostalgia prog camp, Sasha released his much lauded Late Night tales album then subsequently took elements from that and his extensive back catalog into the live area with stunning effects and critical acclaim. Riding on this creative wave, Sasha teamed up with Polica and released this beast back in the summer through Kompakt. Special mention to Patrice Baumel for an astonishing remix on the flip side, but its the original for us that made this years list.

Mod1 (Original Mix) - dubspeeka

A dark, aggressive slice of Techno from dubspeeka best served deep in the vortex at venues such as The Prinworks, London. A track of contradiction, with melancholy fighting brutality throughout. Let it in and be rewarded.

Time to pick things up a bit ...... here comes Part 2 of our tracks of the year.

The Brighter the Light (DJ Tennis Remix) - The Juan Maclean, DJ Tennis

Anyone who rocks up at the Berghain on a horse gets my vote in any “best of” compilation from the start. The fact he is also a tremendous producer creating the remix of the summer is another matter altogether. This track tore up XOYO when John Digweed dropped it at Bedrock back in November. An endorphin filled piano drop to take you exactly where you want to be on any night out.

In My Dream (Original Mix) - George X

Keeping those synaptic nerve terminals well and truly open, here is a corker from the Get Weird stable courtesy of George X. Palatial, euphoric and ethereal this track is one of the standout moments of the year.

San Pedro Feat. Angela (Zombies In Miami Remix) - Lopezhouse

Another thoroughbred in the world of remix duties, Zombies in Miami have produced stella work this year. This mix of Loperzhouse could easily have been switched with a multitude of similar work, but the simplicity and subtleness of this track propelled it into our best of chart. Total quality.

Song For Edit (Black Loops Remix) - Kerri Chandler, Tiger Stripes

Another fantastic remix of Kerri Chandlers Song for Edit. A real dance floor favorite crossing the genre divide between tech/pure house.

17 from ‘17..... our tracks of the Year - Part 1

This year saw the 30th anniversary of the Acid House revolution, sparked off when a gang of South London soul boys headed over to Ibiza, ended up in Amnesia and brought back the future. Since that defining moment, the electronic music scene has survived due to its ability to draw on the past but remodel and push forward traditional musical boundaries.

When compiling the following tracks we’ve tried to pay homage to this adage, keeping true to House music’s defining principles.

Love in Lux (original) - Love in Lux

The sort of track you could imagine Oakenfold, Rampling and the gang dancing around the Amnesia pyramid to in 1987. Soaring pianos, atmospheric strings and a bit of acieeed thrown in for good measure.

Saturday Sky ( Original Mix ) - Stelios Vassiloudis

Another slice of Balearic electronica from renowned producer Stelios Vassiloudis. Usually known for his brooding prog builders, this track conjures up a slice of daytime summer alfresco.

Heart (Cleveland Mix) - Roosevelt

By all accounts this track destroyed Fabric when Marcus Worgull dropped it in the main room back in September. Simple, edgy, quality production.

Cherry Bomb (Original Mix) - Maya Jane Coles

This year saw Maya Jane Coles release her second artist album,Take Flight, after 2013′s much lauded debut Comfort. What Take Flight showed was the evolution of MJC into one of the most influential producers on the current scene. This track encapsulates what Maya Jane Coles does best, delivering quality edgy house music.

Lee Burridge, Lost Desert - Loopyness (Original Mix)

Lee Burridge and his band of “dreamers” have pretty much tapped into the Zeitgeist of the current scene over the past few years with their brand of “gentle” house. As with any genre hitting critical mass, the quality of some productions this year have been hit and miss, but the ADID stable have released some consistently great tracks. Loopyness is a prime example, a hypnotic groover that created a massive buzz when featured on Lost Deserts BPM Mexico mix back in January, displaying cross genre appeal to fit into many a set.
