I Was Queen of the Teenage Punx is a direct result of being exposed to 90′s alternative, punk and grunge for 6 years; it looks back at what was and then forward to what was emerging: the early 2000′s music scene. Ska was almost dead, rockabilly and upright basses were a thing for a minute and no one quiet knew where the marginalized would find their forever home. I was attempting to navigate multiple social hierarchies during the middle of puberty and when nothing else made me happy, I turned to the people who taught me the most about depression and angst: musicians.
