Fears

Pairing: Lucifer x fem! Mc

Family. Family was something she only knew existed in the fairytales, a family which stays together in any adversity,a family which will always have your back even when you're most vulnerable, a family which is the sole reason someone wants to come home. All of these were the rubbish fairytales and some gibberish bookish words to make a reader's imagination flutter and heart warm with procrastination of something imaginary. A soul who has grown up wrapping herself up in a blanket to save her mortified little self from endless vulgar fights of her closest kins, family is a word which can make her skin crawl with cringe. The day she step her foot on the Devildom, she was introduced to the fallen angel family of house of lamentation and was instructed to live with them during the exchange program. The former days of her stay when she saw them fighting over smallest things, she only chuckled to herself,

"Family doesn't exist",

But there was this one Demon, who was silently and maybe forcefully keeping this family bounded, he never showed his love for his siblings openly but whenever any one of them faced any threat he always took that thing down without letting them know. His behaviour was harsh but there was always something tender behind those demonic gesture. He cared about her wellbeing too, formerly it may seem that all of this was because of his friend and supirior Demon prince's request but she always felt there's something more than that. She always wondered why she felt attracted towards a prideful Demon in the three realms,was this because she realised he was the reason this family still haven't shattered into pieces like her mortal family or has she found a piece of her inner self within him which was always terrified of losing that family. One night when she woke up from a devastating nightmare,she found herself Crying and silently begging to be hugged by someone on the balcony. Suddenly she felt footsteps approaching from behind and a deep baritone voice called her name

"Y/N, what are you doing here at this hour?, Don't you know you will catch cold if you stay in this Devildom air at night for too long?"

There was a deep wave of some serious concern within his voice which she unknowingly craved for how long she herself didn't remember. Suddenly she felt her chest tightening and tears were threatening to fall from her e/c eyes,she hated this. She hated herself for being so needy for such simple gestures like care. She didn't realise when her legs themselves took steps and hug the demon without any hesitation and hot streams started flowing down from her cheeks, only a subtle small voice her throat was able to make as she sobbed,

"Lucifer....".

Lucifer put his hands on the small of her back and hugged her tightly as if he was hiding her from the whole world. His one hand started to ran itself on her hair as she sobbed. She never expected someone to hug her back the way she wanted, his warmth was something very heavenly to her senses. Then a sudden wave of fear rushed within her veins, was she...was she scared of losing him too? Is she that much attached to this demon? How will Lucifer react if he ever realised that she was bearing such feelings within her?...he will also distance himself from her...." She suddenly freed herself from his warm embrace and muttered a small thanks with a forced small smile and ran away without looking back. Lucifer was also surprised for a moment with the mortal's gesture but he was a master at facade. From the next morning, Y/n started to avoid Lucifer, if Lucifer was within the 5 meter diameter within a place, she found herself running away from that place. Was she scared? Yes she was. But of what? She contemplated an entire week for this answer and she realised she was afraid of getting rejected,she was afraid of left alone on her own again, she was afraid to hear that she was unworthy of his love and that family of demons which she has grown to fond of. As much as she was afraid of losing Lucifer, she was afraid of losing those other 6 chaotic demons too, because somehow they has become very precious to her, she will never trade this feeling of security & warmth even if that kills her, and these were just mere some messy romantic feelings. She thought if she stays away from the oldest, maybe those feelings will gradually lessen. But she never realised how heavy impact this was having on herself and on the oldest brother too. Lucifer was restless whole day, he was snapping without any reason and confining himself within works just to bury his feelings. Did he do something wrong?Did Y/n hate that hug? Was he being overbearing? Did she still hate him for that past incident....but she said she has forgiven him and everything was normal before that night on the balcony.... Does Y/n hate him that much now that she doesn't even want to see his face? Did Y/n...did y/n realised that he has feelings for her?

He knows it's wrong to bear feelings for Diavolo's guest, but never in his wildest dreams he ever imagined that he will fall so deep for her, he will silently seek her presence in most vulnerable hours of him, he will find solace within her laughter, her will find himself drowning within those deep e/c eyes. It's been 2 weeks now and they haven't seen each other, Lucifer's patience finally ran out and he decided to confront y/n. He knows that maybe Y/n will hate him for her entire mortal life, but at least, at least he will be able to focus on his life again instead of contemplating on imaginary scenarios. Pride be damned,now he needed a firm and clear answer. As soon as he knocked on the door of her room he realised someone was sobbing. A wave of concern rushed through his brain and he opened the door without waiting for any answer. He found y/n curled up in the corner of her bed and sobbing relentlessly. He rushed to cradle her small figure within his big arms and hugged her ignoring her fake protests. When he realised this just made her sob harder, Lucifer was unknowingly triggered, he holded her by her shoulders and made her look at in his eyes and asked,

"Y/n do you hate me this much?"

Y/n shot her eyes open with surprise and looked into Lucifer's eyes. What was that?what was that within his eyes? was that pain...? Was she causing him pain?

Y/n was stunned by the revelation, she didn't realise that time was passing. Suddenly Lucifer got up, and turned around hiding his emotions, and said

"I didn't mean to hurt you Y/n, I will never want to hurt you, I know you maybe despise for the things I have done to you in past but please know that I am a demon,my instincts & sins were the reason whatever I have done to you in past, but I can assure you that it's different now because now you are most important person in my life, I-I love you, Please don't hate me if possible, I just...."

He was unable to finish his sentence, he felt two weak timid hands were hugging his huge frame from behind. Y/n spoke through choking tears,

"Lucifer....I... I can't hate you lucifer, I will never be able to hate you... I can never imagine of hating you even in my worst nightmare, Because..." Y/n paused to catch breath. Lucifer realised that his heart was pounding so heavily within his chest that even y/n can feel that, every second passing through within that pause was like a whole eternity to Lucifer, Y/n suddenly spoke again,

"Because I love you, I love you, I love this family, I love you so much that it hurts, I thought you will hate me if I say this to you and I am so afraid Lucifer, I am afraid of losing you, this family, I...."

Lucifer turned around facing and and put a finger on her lips,

"Shh..."

"No more Y/n",

and then he wrapped his arms around her and embraced her again like that night, hiding her from the world. Yes no more, no more fear of losing, no more hiding.

It honestly didn’t take long at all to convince him to wear this cute outfit you picked out for him

Gives MC a sense of pride hearing him say “Cagué” when he messes up a potion, he obviously picked that up from her

Luke⛅️

Gets kinda (really) scared when MC becomes a little aggressive

Actually bursts out crying because he was scared MC was mas at him

MC traumatized this kid so bad, he ran to Simeon like he was getting chased be some demons

“M-m-mom is really m-mad and *sobs* I’m s-scared *sobs more*”

MC IMMEDIATELY feels super bad because she scared away his soul

Simeon, having talked to her about it already, mouthed “Apologize now.” In a very not polite manner, kinda scaring MC too🚫🧢

Has MC apologizing PROFUSELY, trying to explain it wasn’t Luke’s fault

Once he calms down, they go to bake cookies like usual, except this time he’s sniffing the whole time :( 💔
