hot artists don't gatekeep

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

helpful sites for writers

i have a little collection of websites i tend to use for coming up with ideas, naming people or places, keeping clear visuals or logistics, writing basics about places i've never been to, and so on. i tend to do a lot of research, but sometimes you just need quick references, right? so i thought i'd share some of them!

Behind the Name; good for name meanings but also just random name ideas, regardless of meanings.

Fantasy Name Generator; this link goes to the town name generator, which i use most, but there are lots of silly/fun/good inspo generators on there!

Age Calculator; for remembering how old characters are in Y month in Z year. i use this constantly.

Height Comparison; i love this for the height visuals; does character A come up to character B's shoulder? are they a head taller? what does that look like, height-wise? the chart feature is great!

Child Development Guide; what can a (neurotypical, average) 5-year-old do at that age? this is a super handy quickguide for that, with the obviously huge caveat that children develop at different paces and this is not comprehensive or accurate for every child ever. i like it as a starting point, though!

Weather Spark; good for average temperatures and weather checking!

Green's Dictionary of Slang; good for looking up "would x say this?" or "what does this phrase mean in this context?" i love the timeline because it shows when the phrase was historically in use. this is english only, though; i dig a little harder for resources like this in other languages.

This is a Good Omens Mini Bang themed entirely around Fairy Tales! Writing your own or adapting a favorite! All versions of all Fairy Tales are welcome! Mythology is also welcome to be adapted if so desired as long as it stays on theme! Minimum Word Count: 3000 words Timeline will be: January 13th - Voting/Interest Check Opens (You may join the discord after interest check completion though) February 13th - Officially Sign-Ups open March 13th - Sign-ups Close May 30th - Summary Submissions Open (50% work due) June 13th - Summary Submissions Close June 15th - Claims Start July 31st - Group Check-in September 13th - Posting Starts August 13th - Final Check by mods for anyone needing to bail so as to assign pinch hitters. Both art and fic should be nearing completion or completed and looked at by a beta. September 13th Posting to AO3 with links to ART (Hosted at the artist's website of choice.) That's my way of saying hi, I'm incredibly happy to share with you guys my first ever participation in a Big Bang, illustrating @snarky-synesthete 's wonderful fic Re-Canonized which you can check out by clicking on the title, in my completely unbiased opinion it's amazing and everyone should read it at least 3 times for good luck :D

First two chapters are up now, with 4 more chapters to come in the next 4 days, so be on the lookout for that 👀👀 I may or may not have made one illustration per chapter so, yknow 👀👀👀

weren't we the stars in heaven - chapter 1 - 5k words

a (sort of) enemies to friends to qpp/ forced proximity fic except the enemy bit is one sided

Crowley had always known he wasn’t nice. Nice was a four letter word, and its definition was not one he could fit into. He could twist words and attempt to change all he liked, and he would never find his way into that box.

So he learned to escape it. To flee and turn to nature, backpacking. It was a freedom unlike any other. It was a short but infinite moment where the fresh, breezy air seemed to blow it all away– that was until Aziraphale appeared. Then everything started to go rather downhill.

OR

Crowley misses his bus home after bumping into Aziraphale, leaving the two of them isolated together in a remote hamlet. Running low on supplies (and time, if Crowley wishes to return to work in time to not be fired) the two of them must work out their differences in order to find a way home.

Summary:

People in Aziraphale's neighbourhood unexpectedly start acting overly amorous towards him. Whatever the reason, it doesn't seem to affect Crowley's feelings at all, which could be explained either by him being a demon or by the non-magical attraction he has felt for the angel since ancient times. Between strangers writing Aziraphale terrible love poetry, Crowley trying to scare off the angel's suitors, and a trip to Tadfield to learn more about love spells, Crowley has to try his best to help Aziraphale solve the situation while keeping his own feelings in check.

With the Second Coming averted and Aziraphale back on Earth, all Crowley wanted was a return to the way things used to be, before he confessed his feelings and kissed his best friend in what may be the most unsuccessful love confession of all time. In an effort to cheer an equally miserable Aziraphale, the two of them leave London to attend a murder mystery party in an old country estate. But things quickly go wrong and someone ends up dead. It's up to Aziraphale and Crowley to save the other guests from whatever dangers lurk within the manor. And maybe, Crowley will gather the courage to ask the one question he’s not sure he wants answered: why did Aziraphale come back?
