Even after all this time I am still fond of the idea that Papyrus is the Riverperson. It just fits so well ^^  The sketch to this comic acutally exists ever since this pic was made. 2018, year of finished projects :D I honestly forgot about genocide, but simply because I think I never drove with the Riverperson while doing that run. I think in that run the player doesn’t go back, always forward to get to Sans. And the Riverperson basically is just there to bring you back. 

Let me just explain it with: Papyrus faked his death convincingly and now only becomes his alternate identity, the one true hero, who tries to bring any surviving monsters to safety. I totally wouldn’t put it past him to pull something like that. Would also explain why Papyrus is so fucking badass and chill when he dies. It is just a magic trick, a distraction to get away, like rl magicians would do. And let’s go just a little further here and say he actually does live and Sans really sees him in the judgement hall and it is not just a phrase or delusion. Wouldn’t that be interesting and heartbreaking :D and also explain why Papyrus is so savage about anything death related? Yeah I still like the idea very much. 

(Stupid no-mercy run. Always needs to spoil everything :D)

Okay another thing: The gained Exp. Very valid point. You peeps are very smarts. I say, if we use the theory that Papyrus actually changes the fighting frame to make it into the dating hub, then why should he not be able to just overwrite some numbers on the players stats? I am going very far here and say that Papyrus can do almost anything but decides to not do it because of reasons (morality, believes, whatever).
