I have never felt to unimportant to so many people. I don't think I matter to anyone. I think my birthday present to myself this year might be to finally kill myself.

The Sims 4 Packs Based Legacy Challenge
This is a challenge for those who enjoy goal-based legacies like the Not So Berry and Whimsy Legacy Challenges and looking to explore the stuff, game, and expansion packs in depth. If you are anything like me, you probably have a few expansions that you have purchased but have yet to fully explore. This challenge aims to change that.
I understand that not everyone may own all the packs, in fact, some people may only own base game. For that reason, I have also created The Base Game Legacy Challenge, a base game friendly version of The Packs Based Legacy made to fit interchangeably with one another. Both challenges can be completed individually or used interchangeably to create the perfect challenge that works for you.
Generation 1: Dream Home Decorator
Growing up, you never understood how others just knew what they wanted to be when they were older. How could anyone, in a world of possibilities, just know? Know enough to graduate high school, attend college, and apply for that one specific career they knew would make them happy for the rest of their lives? I mean, you certainly didn’t.
Luckily for you though, as you were debating on whether you would attend college to please your parents or take that year off to try and “find yourself” you receive notice that you inherited a house in Willow Creek by your great-great-aunt. It wasn’t long after high school graduation that you were saying goodbye to your old life and headed off to Willow Creek. Only to discover the house was in less-than-ideal conditions.
Over the next several years, you take up odd jobs as you continue to search for something to entice you. Until one day your friend suggests you become an interior designer after noticing how you light up when discussing the remodeling of your home. And suddenly, everything clicks.
Aspiration(s): Friend of the World – you are starting over and aspire to make many new friends Traits: Gloomy, Creative, and a trait of your choosing Goals: Create a young adult sim in CAS and move them into a fixer upper house in Willow Creek (you can build this house or download one from the gallery – use free real estate cheat to afford it, if necessary). Once your sim is moved in, cheat their household funds down to $600. You never had a job in high school because your parents wanted you to focus on your studies. And when you made the decision not to go to college, they cut you off completely leaving you with only the tiny amount of birthday cash you accumulated over your childhood. You must make friends with at least one sim from the welcome wagon as they will become the friend that suggests you become an interior designer in the future. Eventually fall in love with and marry a client. Produce at least one heir.
Take as many odd jobs as needed to fully remodel one room in your new home before joining the interior decorator career (optional).
Complete home decorator career.
Cannot cheat money beside initial move in.
Must fully renovate inherited house over your sims lifetime and never move out.
Generation 2: Paranormal (with an optional add-on layer of Vampires)
You were raised by loving parents in a beautiful home. You saw how much pride your mother (or father) had for the house they turned into a home and wanted to feel that same sense of joy for your own home, so you purchase a fixer upper when you move out. You soon discover your house is haunted. You dedicate your life to connecting with and understanding these spirits. You aspire to help others who find themselves struggling in the same situation.
Aspiration(s): Aspiration of your choosing Traits: Perfectionist, Clumsy, and a trait of your choosing Goals: Must purchase a haunted house preferably one that needs a bit of a renovation upon aging into young adulthood. Again, you may cheat to purchase this house (as the house should be a steal due to its haunted nature) OR you can use the Simcity Loans mod and take out a loan for this house as an investment into your future (and a little extra challenge). Once you have completed at least two jobs in each of the three levels of the paranormal career, you may purchase the brave reward trait. Like the previous generation, you raise your child(ren) in the house you have made into a home.
Master the medium skill.
Live in a haunted house your entire life (after moving out of your parents’ home).
Become a paranormal investigator and do at least one active gig a week.
If you feel so inclined, you may summon Bonehilda regularly to clean your home, but you may not hire a traditional maid service or repairman as no one would willingly come to your haunted home.
Limit the number of guests you have over for the same reason.
Become best friends with Guidry and attempt to befriend Temperance.
****Optional Add-on Layer for Generation 2****
Not long after moving into your new home you begin to realize your neighbors are not amongst the living. Some of them are nice while others can be quite scary, all of whom you find fascinating. You grow curious and dedicate your life to understanding these creatures. Over time you become so intrigued you seek to become a vampire yourself only to discover it gets quite lonely watching everyone around you grow old while you stay young, so you seek to create your very own vampire family.
The haunted house you purchase is in Forgotten Hollow and have the Vampire Nexus lot trait.
Aspiration becomes Master Vampire, Good Vampire and Vampire Family which you can work on simultaneously.
– OR –
Generation 2: Vampires Only
You were raised by loving parents in a beautiful home. You saw how pride your mother (or father) had for the house they turned into a home and wanted to feel that same sense of joy for your own home, so you purchase a fixer upper when you move out (or better yet, a house that was clearly abandoned, though you’re not sure why). You soon realize your new neighbors are not amongst the living.
Aspiration(s): Master Vampire, Good Vampire, and Vampire Family Traits: Perfectionist, Clumsy, and a trait of your choosing Goals: Must purchase a “haunted” or abandoned looking house preferably one that needs a bit of a renovation upon aging into young adulthood. Again, you may cheat to purchase this house (the house should be a steal as it has been on the market for a long time) OR you can use the Simcity Loans mod and take out a loan for this house as an investment into your future (and a little extra challenge). Like the previous generation, you raise your child(ren) in the house you have made into a home.
The house you purchase must be in Forgotten Hollow and have the Vampire Nexus lot trait.
Limit the number of guests you have over for their own safety.
Complete all three vampire aspirations, you’re immortal now, you have all the time in the world.
Master the Vampire Lore and pipe organ skills.
You earn a living by freelance writing about your new life state.
Optional: Cure yourself of vampirism after completing all other requirements for this generation as you realize your newfound immortality means watching your own child(ren) getting old and dying before you.
Generation 3: Snowy Escape
Being raised in a haunted house (with a parent who was in debt almost their entire life – if you go down that route), was not ideal. You loved your parents, but you could not wait to get away, far, far away. You move to Mt. Komorebi and buy a house you can afford on your own. You take a career as a salaryperson. However, your life isn’t all work, how could it be when you live in such a beautiful world? You take up snowboarding, skiing, or rock climbing as a hobby on your time off and make it a point to go hiking at least once a week. You are also very involved in the town’s festivals.
Aspiration(s): Mt. Komorebi Sightseer and Extreme Sports Enthusiast Traits: Adventurous, Proper, and Hates Children Goals:  After growing up in a haunted house, you longed for a sense of normalcy. You did not feel that was accomplishable living anywhere near your parents so you moved to Mt. Komorebi where you would fall in love with the culture. You never got over the resentment you had for your parents raising you in a home that terrified you which led to not wanting children of your own. Unfortunately, birth control isn’t 100% accurate. You take a job as a salaryperson because it sounds like the most ordinary job you can do, and you desperately wanted that stability.  You spend your free time going on sporting adventures, hiking, and participating in festivals as they provide you with a feeling of community which you never had growing up.
Complete Salaryperson career.
Master skiing, snowboarding, or rock climbing.
Complete both Mt. Komorebi Sightseer and Extreme Sports Enthusiast.
Attend every Mt. Komorebi festival when you are not at work (you may take vacation days to attend them).
For an extra challenge, you may turn off lifestyles for this generation as they will make this generation’s goals particularly easy.
You may hire maids and repairmen if you can afford it.
Only have one child your entire life “by accident” (You may cheat for twins if you want to experience gameplay for both sides in Batuu – this is completely optional and only if you have Batuu).
Never marry.
Generation 4: Star Wars and Nifty Knitting (basemental drugs recommended)
Your parent was a workaholic, and when they weren’t at the office, they were too busy at a festival or off on a sporting adventure to notice you. It wasn’t that your parent didn’t love you, they just weren’t very maternal (or paternal). This left you alone most of the time, often contemplating life itself and why you had a parent that would prefer not to be there for you the way they should have been. Your thoughts become too much and eventually you decide to try pot as you’ve heard it can be quite calming. Eventually you find yourself dabbling into every drug you can get your hands on and live for the escapism. You start to envision an alternate universe where you can be in control, where you’re needed, where you can escape reality… and you like to knit.
** For those that do not use basemental drugs your sim will go down a different but similar route. Instead of dabbling into drugs, you will dabble into mischief and fantasy. As a teenager you begin acting out in an attempt to get your parents attention, unfortunately, your efforts do not succeed. You imagine a world where you are in control, where you are needed, where people never ignore you, where you can escape reality. You travel there often.**
Aspiration(s): Psychonaut (if using Basemental Drugs) otherwise Chief of Mischief Batuu Aspirations: Hope Vs Order and then depending on the side you choose, you’ll complete the Batuu aspiration that suits you Traits: Erratic, Glutton and Goofball (Replace goofball with Clubber if using Basemental Drugs) Goals: Your primary focus this generation is to fully explore Batuu. You must complete the hope vs order aspiration and whichever other Batuu aspiration corresponds with the side you choose. You do not have to complete the psychonaut or chief of mischief aspirations, but you may for the added challenge. When not in Batuu, you love to knit while listening to metal music in your rocking chair as it helps relax you. You join the criminal career as another attempt to get your parents attention. But when you become an adult, you quit your career and try to make a living selling what you knit on Plopsy as you have outgrown the desire of gaining your parents attention.
Master the knitting skill.
Obtain mischief level 5 or higher.
Complete Hope vs Order Aspiration and at least one more Batuu Aspiration according to the side you choose.
Once an adult, must sell at least 10 knitted items on Plopsy and change home aspiration to Lord or Lady of the Knits.
– OR –
Generation 4: Strangerville (and Nifty Knitting, if owned)
Your parent was a workaholic, and when they weren’t at the office, they were too busy at a festival or off on a sporting adventure to notice you. It wasn’t that your parent didn’t love you, they just weren’t very maternal (or paternal). This left you alone most of the time, often contemplating life itself and why you had a parent that would prefer not to be there for you the way they should have been. Your thoughts become too much and when you become a teen decide the only way to gain your parents attention is to cause chaos, so they have no choice but to acknowledge you. You dream of an alternate universe where you can be in control, where you’re needed, where you can escape reality… and you like to knit (if you do not own Nifty Knitting, omit that). Right as you are aging into a young adult, you hear of a town called Strangerville and how it needs a hero, you decide you will be that hero and move there.
Aspiration(s): Chief of Mischief Strangerville Aspiration: Strangerville Mystery Traits: Erratic, Paranoid, and Goofball Goals: Your primary focus this generation is to fully explore Strangerville. You must complete the Strangerville Mystery aspiration and save Strangerville. You do not have to complete the chief of mischief aspiration, but you may for the added challenge. When not working on solving the Strangerville mystery, you love to knit while listening to metal music in your rocking chair as it helps relax you (omit if you do not own Nifty Knitting). You join the military career as a final attempt to get your parent’s attention, surely, they’d be proud of you defending your country. But when you become an adult, you quit your career and try to make a living selling what you knit on Plopsy as you have outgrown the desire of gaining your parents attention (if you do not own Nifty Knitting, you never quit your career).
Must live in Strangerville.
Obtain mischief level 5 or higher.
Complete the Strangerville Mystery aspiration.
Complete Military career, you die still trying to make your parents proud (only if you do not own Nifty Knitting).
These are to be completed as well if you own Nifty Knitting:
Master the knitting skill.
Once an adult, must sell at least 10 knitted items on Plopsy and change home aspiration to Lord or Lady of the Knits.
Generation 5: Eco Lifestyle
Your parent was a little erratic and the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. You are just as ridiculous as the person who raised you, just in a different way. While your parent was focused on making Batuu (or Strangerville) a better place, you aspire to make the real world a better place the best way you know how. Recycling, reusing, and living off the grid. Who needs electricity anyway?
Aspiration(s): Eco Innovator Traits: Freegan, Green Fiend, and Maker Goals: When you become a young adult, you move to The Shipping Views in Evergreen Harbor where you have bulldozed the original lot and created a 12 x 4 completely empty container home. Then cheat your household funds to zero (because who doesn’t love a good rags to riches?) The idea is that you were overly certain you didn’t need material positions to bring you joy so you moved out with nothing and found an abandoned shipping container you would seek shelter in. You aspire to change the world for the better.
Lot must have the off-the-grid trait and you are encouraged to find ways to acquire water and electricity that are ecofriendly.
Must complete the Civil Designer career – Green Technician branch.
Master fabrication skill.
Dumpster dive regularly as all household items must be obtained through fabrication or dumpster finds (except items that you will never find in a dumpster; meat wall, bug motel, fabrication machine, candle making station, juicing station, etc.)
Must own and maintain a meat wall and bug motel.
Must take up the hobby of juice fizzing and master juice fizzing skill.
May live in all three neighborhoods in Evergreen Harbor over the course of your lifetime so you can vote on all 3 community spaces and initiate action plans in each neighborhood if an extra challenge is desired.
Generation 6: Tiny Living and Discover University
As a child, you were not a fan of your parent’s lifestyle. Digging in the trash for treasure was not your idea of fun. In fact, it was really embarrassing. And your grandparent off in Batuu (or Strangerville)… You just needed out. You knew at a young age the only way to accomplish this was to work hard and get into a good university. As a teenager you took on a part time job to help save for college, however, once you reached the top of your career, you felt like you were no longer being challenged and switched jobs.
Aspiration(s): Academic and Renaissance Sim Traits: Ambitious, Good, and Bookworm Goals: Apply for the computer science, economics, history, language & literature, physics, or psychology degree based off the career path you wish to pursue (Law, Education, or Engineer). Obtaining scholarships are not required but encouraged. After graduation, you realize that while your parent may have been a little overboard with the whole eco living thing, they did have a point. You decide to build a micro home for yourself to help the environment in your own way; however, as time goes on and your family grows, you build on to your home.
Must reach level 3 of two part time jobs before attending university.
Must join a student organization in university.
Become a member of the secret society.
After graduation join Law, Education or Engineer career (something to note: Law and Education will utilize the research and debate skills you acquire from your aspiration while in college).
Robotics fascinates you and bot building becomes a hobby of yours.
Master robotics, charisma, and research and debate skills.
Must live in a micro home after college and may add on to it over your sim’s lifetime; however, it must always remain a tiny home.
Complete both aspirations.
Generation 7: Realm of Magic and Moschino Stuff
Being raised in a tiny home really helped keep things in perspective for you. You grew up appreciating everything the world had to offer and enjoy taking photos of nature to preserve its beauty forever. You were close with your grandparent and their love of the environment really had an impact on you.
Aspiration(s): Spellcraft and Sorcery and Purveyor of Potions Traits: Ambitious, Loves the Outdoors, and a trait of your choosing Goals: You take up photography as a teenager with an interest in wildlife photos. You hear that the waterfall in Glimmerbrook is a sight that cannot be missed and discover a mysterious portal while you are there taking photos. After much debate with yourself, you make the decision to check out this portal and discover a world of magic. Your grandparent had always told you crazy stories about how your great grandparent traveled to a far-off mystical world, and you begin to wonder if this was it.  As you explore, you meet a sage and discover witchcraft. You can’t help but feel that finding this portal was your destiny and seek to become a spellcaster. Your parent was of an ambitious nature and always went all in in anything they did, you felt an obligation to do the same when it came to understanding this newfound power.
Master photography skill.
Become a freelance photographer.
Move to Glimmerbrook after becoming a spellcaster to be closer to the portal and beautiful scenery (if you choose to become a spellcaster as a teen, wait until young adulthood to move).
Dabble in practical, mischief, and untamed magic as you seek to know all.
Complete both aspirations.
Generation 8: Island Living and Get Together
Your parent loved nature and so did you, only, you weren’t a fan of the woods. You wanted to bask in the sunlight and feel the sand between your toes. Something about living secluded in the woods just felt so glum to you. You wanted to be surrounded by people and live life to the fullest without any real responsibilities weighing you down.
Aspiration(s): Beach Life and Leader of the Pack Traits: Insider, Dance Machine, and Child of the Ocean Goals: After moving to Sulani as a young adult, you discover that the island is not as cared for as you feel it should be. Despite your initial desire to live a life of leisure, you decide to take it upon yourself to join the Conservation career and be the difference you want to see. You even make a Conservation club that meets weekly to discuss Sulani and appreciate its beauty. But you don’t give up hope on your life of leisure and create a second club for going out on the town dancing with friends. One day you discover mermaids and seek to become one as to help gain even more understanding of the Island’s magic.
Master the conservation career in the branch of your choosing.
Become a mermaid at some point in your sim’s life (please note that if your heir inherited the spellcaster trait, you must cure them before they can become a mermaid).
Explore the Sulani cave until you complete the picture on the cave wall (each time you explore the cave, more of the picture will appear).
Dedicate your life to cleaning up Sulani and achieve stage 3 of cleanup.
Complete both aspirations.
Master dancing skill and dabble in the DJ skill.
Fall madly in love with someone you meet on the Island, get married, and have at least one child.
Must cure any child born as a mermaid, as you do not believe your child(ren) should be forced to live the same life you chose.
Generation 9: Seasons, Laundry Day, Cats & Dogs, Parenthood, My First Pet, Toddlers, Kids Room, Backyard, Movie Hangout, Cool Kitchen, Bowling, and Spooky Stuff Packs
You had a wonderful childhood. Your parents were so caring and so in love that it inspired you. For as long as you could remember, you dreamed of having the perfect wedding, to the perfect person, and raising a large happy family. Only, you didn’t want to do it in Sulani. What fun were holidays, if they couldn’t be celebrated in the appropriate season. You move to Windenburg (or Brindleton Bay) inspired by stories of your parent growing up in Glimmerbrook’s countryside. You aspire to own land big enough to build a beautiful family home for your future children with plenty of outdoor space for them to play without the worries of city traffic nearby.
Aspiration(s): Super Parent, Successful Lineage, and Big Happy Family Traits: Family-Oriented, Childish, and Neat (or a trait of your choosing) Goals:
Must celebrate every major holiday and every birthday.
After your first child becomes a toddler, dedicate one night a week to family movie night and popcorn is a must (the one thing I am copying from NSB, because its just too wholesome not to).
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Friday night homemade ice cream.
Complete all three family aspirations, you can do it.
Your first born wants a pet, but with a second child on the way, you can’t even imagine getting a cat or dog, so you get them a rodent.
Must have 4 children.
You eventually cave and get 1 dog and 1 cat, who your children dress up in pet clothing.
Must have laundry room and wash clothes, you may hire a maid.
Use laundry day, toddlers, kids’ room, backyard, and cool kitchen stuff pack items throughout your home.
Have a bimonthly bowling day with the whole family, you really value family bonding.
As an optional challenge, you may have this generation join the vet career after obtaining your cat and dog. After caving and getting your children pets, you can’t help but fall in love with these new additions to your family and join the vet career to meet even more pets and ensure they live long and healthy lives (may add on the friend of the animal’s aspiration if you feel so obliged).
Generation 10: Get Famous, Spa Day, Fitness, Vintage Glamour, Romantic Garden, Perfect Patio, and Luxury Party
Your parents loved you, that was obvious. But did they love you as an individual or as one of the herd? You had to share everything with your siblings, and watched your parents live modestly with no extra cash to treat themselves. And though, that never seemed to bother them, you could not imagine dedicating your entire life to raising a family. You wanted to be the center of attention for once, you never wanted to be forced to share anything ever again, you wanted to be famous.
Aspiration(s): World Famous Celebrity and Master Actor/Actress Traits: Self-Absorbed, Jealous, and Materialistic Goals:
Complete both aspirations.
Move to Del Sol Valley as a young adult and work hard so that you can one day afford a home in the celebrity neighborhood (does not have to be one of the original builds).
Complete actor/actress career.
Hire a butler once you move into the celebrity neighborhood (must have the celebrity home lot trait as well).
Once you are a 5-star celebrity, throw the most lavish and luxurious parties.
Keep Zen by mastering the wellness skill and visit the spa regularly, after all, you deserve it.
Its only the best fitness gear for you.
Decorate your celebrity home with items from vintage glamour, romantic garden, perfect patio, fitness, and luxury party items.
You date around but never marry, cannot risk anyone stealing your spotlight.
Have one child with one of your many lovers (when you are ready, try for baby with at least two lovers on the same day and let the father (or mother) of your child be a surprise).
*Bonus* Generation 11: Cottage Living
Your parent was famous, like really famous. You grew up living in a life of luxury most people could never even dream of having. But while your classmates raved on about all the time and memories they had with their families, you were being raised by your family’s butler. Your grandparent was all about celebrating holidays and for as long as they lived, they made you feel like family was the most important thing anyone could have in their life. You wanted that. You didn’t want to be recognized everywhere you went just because you were the child of a famous actor/actress. When you become a young adult, you move to the quaint town of Henford-on-Bagley.
Aspiration(s): Country Caretaker and Freelance Botanist Traits: Animal Enthusiast, Loves the Outdoors, and Lactose Intolerant (or a trait of your choosing) Goals: As a young adult, you use some of your family’s money to purchase a home in Henford-on-Bagley. You learn quickly that farming is hard work, and having a job outside of the farm is near impossible, but you love every second of it. There is something so peaceful and rewarding about running a farm, and the people are so kind here.
Either your sim, their future spouse, or a future child must have the lactose intolerant trait.
Your sim may have a job as a teenager and/or at the beginning of young adulthood, but once the farm is well established, they must earn money through their farm, garden, and/or town errands.
Home must have the Simple Living lot challenge, and may have the off-the-grid trait as well if you prefer the extra challenge.
Make friends with at least 3 sims who live in town.

They may also be used to substitute for generations using packs you do not own if you do not wish to use the base game substitutions.]] Add-On Generation: Outdoor Retreat
You’ve always felt a strong connection with nature. You believe there is no better remedy for stress or sickness than the good old fashion outdoors. You just wish nature didn’t include creepy crawlies.
Aspiration(s): Outdoor Enthusiast Traits: Loves the Outdoors, Squeamish, and Glutton Goals: You do not believe in traditional medicine. If it does not come from nature, it is not going in your body. You don’t mind eating rotten food though, as throwing out food just because its slightly passed its expiration date is just wasteful.
Spend most of your time camping in Granite Falls exploring the great outdoors.
As an adult, you may begin renting a cabin. This will be your cabin; you have now invested in a second home in Granite Falls.
Befriend the hermit.
Max the Herbalism skill.

Reach the top of a part-time job as a teen, you are eager to get as much experience as you can to prepare you for your future career.
Reach the top of the scientist, doctor, or detective career.
As someone who needed all their ducks in a row, you do not get married or have children until you reach adulthood and are at least halfway through your career path.
Add-On Generation: Get to Work - - Owning a Business
For some, knowing what career path to take is easy for them. For others, like yourself, it’s a bit more challenging. You have many interests and have tried out various careers according to those interests, but nothing feels right. And how can anyone enjoy working at a job where they know more than their own boss? Those jobs were the worst! Somewhere along the way of self-discovery, you realize you were not meant to simply have a career, you were meant to own a business.
Aspiration(s): Renaissance Sim and Fabulously Wealthy Traits: Noncommittal, Clumsy, and a trait of your choosing Goals: Part of your constant struggle to find which career path suits you is simply how indecisive you can be. Making decisions has never been easy for you and that did not change as you got older. Still, you find the strength to persevere and laugh at your own failures. Earn a 5-star rating for your business over the course of your lifetime.
Go on at least 5 dates with 3 different sims as a young adult before you eventually marry your high school sweetheart.
Add-On Generation: Dine Out
Your parents suggested you get a part time job when you became a teenager as it would help build character, so you took up a job in retail. You hated it. Sure, you loved the people aspect of it, but dealing with rude customers all day, no thank you. You opt for a career change and switch to fast food as you’ve always enjoyed baking, maybe you’ll actually like this job. Turns out, baking for large groups of people in a fast-paced environment, isn’t your cup of tea either. But you do enjoy the working environment, your co-workers are like a second family. And you think to yourself, what if I owned the restaurant?
Aspiration(s): Aspiration of your choosing Traits: Foodie and two traits of your choosing Goals: When you become a young adult, you go for your dream of owning a restaurant. To afford this, you may take out a loan from the Simcity Loans mod, take money from your parents (they want to help you accomplish your dreams), or simply cheat (I find it more fun not to cheat, but you do you).
As a teenager join the retail career and later switch to fast food.
Purchase an existing restaurant or build one from the ground up (recommended) as a young adult.
Spend your life working towards and then maintaining a 5-star rating.
You may purchase any perk points you want once you can afford them.
At the beginning, you may live at your restaurant. However, once you reach a 4-star rating you must own a separate home.
Add-On Generation: City Living
Shows like How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Sex and the City, Seinfeld, and various others left you dreaming of the day you too could live in the city. These shows were all about having great friends, plenty of fun nights out, and living such a romanticized version of a life, how could you not aspire to have that. You’ve always felt out of place in the world of dating, you just never felt a spark with anyone. City Living was your ticket to happiness.
Aspiration(s): City Native Traits: Unflirty, Outgoing, and Foodie (for food critic), Art Lover (for art critic), Ambitious (for politician), or Geek (for social media). Goals: As a young adult you move to San Myshuno with big dreams of exploring the city. Only to discover city living is expensive! You find a two-bedroom spacious apartment that you think is a steal and snatch it up (19 Culpepper House). Soon you find yourself living with roaches, rats, bad electrical and horrible plumbing issues. Determined to prove to your parents you can make it on your own, you work all that much harder at climbing the career ladder and saving up for a better apartment. Somewhere along the way you find yourself.
Must live in 19 Culpepper House from the start of young adulthood until you’re halfway to being an adult (for an extra challenge, you may move out of your parent’s house as a teenager).
19 Culpepper House must have the Needs TLC and Lively Neighbors lot traits.
Halfway through young adulthood move to a better apartment.
If you can afford it as an adult, purchase a Penthouse.
Complete the City Native aspiration.
Reach the top of the Critic, Politician, or Social Media career.
Have at least good 5 friends and 1 enemy (that noisy neighbor of yours, maybe).
During the City Expert level of your aspiration, kiss your best (same sex) friend at the Romance festival. You get carried away in the moment and discover a part of yourself you were always too afraid to explore.
Master singing skill and gourmet cooking (food critic), painting (art critic), charisma (politician), or video gaming (social media).
Add-On Generation: Cats & Dogs
You’ve always felt a strong connection with animals, people, not so much. Since childhood, you’ve dreamed of owning your own vet clinic. Having a job that allowed you to spend all day with your animal friends, you couldn’t dream of anything better.
Aspiration(s): Friend of the Animals Traits: Loner, Cat Lover, and Dog Lover Goals: As a young adult you move to Brindleton Bay and purchase a small vet clinic. You dream is to turn this small clinic into a flourishing, well-established vet clinic with its very own pet supply store where you sell only the best supplies for your furry friends.
If you have City Living, replace either cat or dog lover with unflirty.
Purchase a small vet clinic with only the bare necessities (you may cheat to afford this, but do not cheat for any additional money).
Complete the Friend of the Animals aspiration.
Establish a 5-star rating for your vet clinic.
Never get married.
Mid-adulthood, you adopt a baby, toddler, or a child (for those who prefer playing with blood genetics, you may instead have a one-night stand with a married sim that results in a pregnancy -hence the reason the other parent will not be in the picture.)
Over the course of your lifetime, must own at least 5 pets.
Add-On Generation: Jungle Adventure
Ever since you were a child you loved finding treasure while playing pirate and that was something you never grew out of. Anything of value, you wanted, and you found a way to get it. By the time you were a young adult, you were ready for more of a challenge than just stealing petty things from your neighbors. You aspired to find real treasure and the thrilling adventures you’d have trying to obtain it.
Aspiration(s): Archaeology Scholar and Jungle Explorer Traits: Loves the Outdoors, Self-Assured, and Kleptomaniac Goals: After countless internet searches, you conclude that Selvadorado is the place you have been longing for. Exploring potentially dangerous jungles and tombs to find treasures left abandoned, nothing sounded better. To prevent suspicion of your less than ethical reasoning for exploring, you learn the culture and claim to be an honorable archeologist just in it for the sake of learning.
Master mischief, archaeology and Selvadoradian culture skills.
Complete both the Archaeology Scholar and Jungle Explorer aspirations.
Unlock and explore all jungle areas.
Have all major life moments happen in Selvadorado (get engaged, get married, try for baby, etc.)
Make money by selling artifacts and/or a career of your choosing (using a custom archeology career this generation would be perfect).
Add-On Generation: Strangerville
You were always an overactive sim. As a teenager, you learned to channel that energy into something positive, working out. One day, a guest lecturer comes and speaks with your class about the military and how they are in need of new recruits who will be stationed in a town called Strangerville. While the idea of the military scares most of your classmates, your overzealous nature is eager to take on the challenge and prove you are the best of the best.
Aspiration(s): Strangerville Mystery and Bodybuilder Traits: Active, Bro, and Paranoid Goals: After graduating high school you move to Strangerville eager to start your new career in the military. You know you have what it takes to climb the ranks. However, you soon notice something is a little “off” with your new neighbors. At first, you look past it, but curiosity soon gets the better of you. After asking around town, you hear a rumor that the odd shaped plants are the cause. But after talking with your boss at work, you deem these rumors false and take it upon yourself to prove it. Only, the rumors are in fact true and now you are one of them, the infected. You soon become overwhelmed by paranoia, where do you go all the hours you cannot account for in the night? Will your coworkers catch on that there is something “off” about you now too? What if they discover how deeply you are investigating the mystery that is Strangerville?
Must live in Strangerville.
Must get infected while on level 1 of the Strangerville aspiration.
Reach the top of the Military career- officer branch.
Complete both the Strangerville Mystery and Bodybuilder aspirations.
Add-On Generation: Bust the Dust
Your twin and you are total opposites from one another. And while this may lead to an argument here and there, you also couldn’t dream of not being in each other’s life’s. Your twin is your best friend, your other half. You decide at a young age that you will get a house together when you’re older and raise your families all under one roof.
Aspiration(s): Fabulously Filthy (Twin A) and Perfectly Pristine (Twin B) Traits for Twin A: Lazy, Slob, and Childish Traits for Twin B: Active, Neat, and Perfectionist Goals:
Must cheat for twins in the previous generation.
Despite their differences, the twins must remain best friends their entire lives.
Complete each twin’s aspiration. This means the house will constantly juggle between clean and dirty states.
**You probably noticed there are a few aspirations and trait slots left up to the player’s choosing. This is because the specific packs used in that generation do not provide them and I feel the player should have their own creative freedom there.
**I personally play on a normal lifespan and use MC Command Center to adjust elder’s age, so they live long enough to meet their grandchildren. However, I suggest you play on whichever lifespan works best for your play style and preferences.

Befriend a fox, rabbit, and a flock of birds.
Complete the Country Caretaker and Freelance Botanist aspirations.
Master the cross-stitch, gardening, and cooking skills.
Optional skill to master: flower arranging
Get married to a sim you meet in town and have at least two children whom you raise on the farm.
[[The following are bonus generations that may be used as add-ons for those that finish the challenge and wish to continue their established family trees.

Life may try to knock you down, but you always find the strength get back up. You aspire to be fabulously wealthy as a true sign you’ve finally made it, you’ve finally made something of yourself.
Complete Renaissance Sim and Fabulously Wealthy aspirations.

However, I suggest you play on whichever lifespan works best for your play style and preferences.

fun history fact: a common argument against women voting was ads with cats dressed up as suffrage activists next to signs reading “i demand a vote” etc, basically saying that if women can vote, who’s next, cats?

i have always had this trouble. my soft heart and good listening meant i was always, always, always somebody’s therapist. i was dealing with so much of my own shit that it seemed unfair not to be there for someone else. i knew exactly what it was like to reach out and be shut down because “they don’t have time”. i knew what it was like to have someone say “just go to a therapist.”
it ruined my life. i want to make this very clear. when i was younger and before i got good at boundary settings, it ruined my life. i was so invested in the internal lives of people i still considered “friends” who were using me for endless emotional labor. it completely disregarded that i was also mentally ill and struggling. i was constantly anxious, rarely sleeping, unable to control the actions of not only the other person - but also of myself. i poured hours a day into trying to talk people down from things i couldn’t talk myself down from. wasn’t trained at all. i was triggering myself by talking about certain things, throwing myself into a deeper hole in the hopes i could maybe drag everyone else out.
a lot of these people don’t even talk to me anymore. they found a new therapist and moved on, because they weren’t my friend. they were using me for my advice and time and endless attention. putting myself into their hearts didn’t push all the bad stuff out. it just made me drown in the bad stuff.
and it’s complicated; because i’ve been on both sides of this. desperately needing to just vent, no threat of the police, no professional setting, just me and someone i trust talking. i would fall into bad patches and my family would have to scrape me up. i would spend months in a bad place. needing to be pushed. to be prodded. so how can i say “don’t use your friends as therapists?”
the truth is, there’s a huge difference between leaning on someone versus expecting them to be there for you all the time when you don’t return any of that effort or emotion. i had a “friend” who waited 5 hours until i was home from a loved one’s funeral, and when i said “i’m home”, she just launched into her own problems. i remember sitting on the kitchen floor and sobbing because she literally didn’t even ask if i was okay. she didn’t ask if i was ready. she didn’t even ask anything, she just assumed that i was always there for her, always, and that she didn’t need to be there for me.
and the truth is: i don’t need much. i actually get uncomfortable when my friends thank me a lot. but the difference between a friend and someone you’re treating like a therapist is that friends let friends have their own moments. and i know that we have all had overlapping emergencies. that you know he’s having a really rough time because of his classes but you were just triggered by something you weren’t expecting. but friends are the people who start with “i know it’s a bad time, i just need to vent, are you okay?” not the people who don’t even acknowledge the bad time. not the people who don’t give me the option to say “no, i’m not okay, if it’s an emergency we can talk but i’m in a really bad place and i can’t stand anything else.” i can’t save you while i am also struggling to save myself. friends are the people who maybe, yes, vent - but then give you the option to also share, to have your voice heard. you know that you’ll get a chance. maybe not that day, but soon, if you wanted it.
there is a huge difference between someone asking about my life, genuinely listening and responding, and then talking about their problems, versus someone who basically says “are you gud?? okay here’s my life trauma for you to deal with.” everyone here has been in a conversation where the other person was literally just waiting for you to shut up so they could hear their own voice. that’s what it’s like as a therapist friend, all the time. your life becomes this inconsequential thing to them. peripheral to the help you can give.
and if you’re the therapist friend, it’s hard. do you have any idea how much responsibility i feel, all the time?! the sad thing is yes, i overextended myself and became majorly suicidal because of some of my friend/patients - but i know that if it helped them, just a little, it was worth it. but my personal safety a- mental and physical - shouldn’t be offered at all in the trade.
real therapists, paid-for-it therapists…. they’re not on every hour of the day. they go home and have a home life where their patient isn’t texting them every 18 seconds about a new emergency. that’s because the human spirit can’t survive that. we can’t survive that. and as the therapist friend, it’s hard. we are givers, you know. feel better when helping.
but learn to set boundaries. i’m so used to the whole therapy thing that i can literally tell when someone is switching from my friend to my patient. i pull out all of my personal information. i put up a bunch of walls. i make their notification different. when i see it’s a message from them, i do a self-check: am i ready for what might be inside? do i have the energy for it? can it wait until i am in a better place? will it ruin my day?
and learn to say no. be honest. if this isn’t a true emergency, learn to say. actually, no, i don’t want to deal with this. it doesn’t have to be for “a good reason”. it can just be …. that you’re not their therapist. you’re their friend. you saying “no” isn’t being selfish.
i know texting has made it easy to forget this. but …. the next time you’re about to vent to a friend, just ask: “i need to talk about something heavy, are you in a good place?” and when you can, give back. remember to talk about their favorite book, or ask about that party they went to. because it’s okay to lean on people. but just give back a little of the energy you took.

i don’t want to achieve equality by sinking to men’s level, i want them to get on ours! why should i have to unlearn the conversational art of waiting my turn, unlearn sexual self-restraint, unlearn trust in others’ good intentions, unlearn the impulse to cater to others’ needs, just to have a chance at success among savages? why can’t the men learn some fucking manners so we can all conduct our affairs in a civilized manner? i shouldn’t have to stop saying sorry, you say sorry!

Gideon Mendel’s The Ward
Memories from the heart of the Aids crisis shows true love in a time of terrible tragedy.
These heartbreaking and incredibly moving images show the affection and love shown during the height of the Aids crisis. Photographer Gideon Mendel’s project The Ward began in 1993 when he spent a number of weeks on the Charles Bell wards in London’s Middlesex Hospital. All the patients on the ward were dying with the knowledge that there was no cure for the disease. During this time antiretroviral medications were not available and patients on the ward faced the prospect of an early death.
