Hot take but I’m kind of tired of this attitude that “non-sexualized female character = feminist writing”

There are very sexy/sexualized female characters that are complex and well written and there are non-sexualized female characters that are written TERRIBLY.

A female character’s physical appearance and sexuality shouldn’t determine the quality of her character.

using mouse to refer to disney is bad (aside from the character stuff) bc people would be giving them a mask to hide behind. like how many people know who ceo of disney is without googling. you dont even know who to throw rocks at.

I have yet to see anyone do this with other mascots, no matter how popular they are. You don’t see Bugs Bunny or Mario being labeled as greedy bastards who nukes passion projects for royalties or sue people over ROMs and emulators for thousands of dollars they DONT HAVE for games they don’t even get money out of anymore. You don’t see people call SpongeBob or Rayman disgusting perverts for….well, what Nickelodeon and Ubisoft allowed to happen.

To a certain degree, I understand why this happens to Mickey specifically. Because Disney has gone out of their way to slap Mickey’s face on EVERYTHING they own at every chance they got, in a way and on a scope no other company has done— and yet his appearances as an actual character are not as common and usually self contained (Clubhouse is for toddlers, Kingdom Hearts is for gamers and so on). So I get how I’d be hard to separate the character from the company when the company does that with him.

Still sucks ass and is very unfair, in my opinion though
