“Cooking isn’t too difficult, I can show you if you’d like,” Iden smiled, “Baking is also fun to do, especially when you get to eat it after. Del sometimes sneaks in some extra sugar into them, or extra chocolate.” Her face lit up as she spoke about Del, she really loved him. She was excited for Rey to meet him.

“We can bake the cookies together, how about that?” Iden asked

“This is a mission I wouldn’t want to pass up,” Iden replied, “I’ve been so many planets over the years, but it was all for dark reasons. I want to make a difference, and help wherever I can. You shouldn’t go alone, and I wont let you. I wont live my life in fear, and I will go with you.”

Luke smiled and rolled his eyes for a moment he wanted to make a comment about being a brown-loser but he let it go, though when he heard her offer to go off with him on this mission he knew he couldnt, “There is no way I could take you with me, youre fiancé I’m sure wouldnt look too kindly on me if something happened to you and I’m sure the rest of your squad wouldnt be too happy either.” he said trying to gracefully decline her help.

Iden continued to cook, making something she though Rey would like. To her, Rey looked a bit overextended, and she needed some comfort. As Rey came back out, she turned to look, “Oh, that’s much better, and if you’d like to help, I’d love that.” She pointed to her cook book, “I’m following the recipe in here, but I’m taking some creative liberties. Do you know how to make any desserts? If not, we can make something together. Del and I usually make some cookies or something. Something sweet always keeps us happy.”

Iden shook her head, “Nonsense, you stay and make yourself comfortable. Del is on his way back from a mission, and he loves new people.” She began to cook, “We would love to have you here, we get pretty bored on our own. A life of adventuring takes it’s toll on you.”

Iden gave her a smile, “They gave me a bigger room due to my work in Inferno Squad, but I think they forgot that I am only one person.” She let out a laugh, “My husband sleeps in my bed anyway, so the extra room is just waiting for someone to fill it.” She went over to Rey’s door, “I’ll make some food, and let you know when it’s ready.”

“Oh, don’t think anything of it,” Iden shook her head, “My living quarters has 2 rooms, and one is unoccupied. You are welcome to it.” She went over to a door and opened it, “This is my room, and I’ll grab you some clothes.” She went in, and came back a moment later with some clothes for her to wear, “And the other door is yours.”

Iden glanced over as well, smiling a bit, “She is smart, you shouldn’t go alone. Who knows what could be on that planet now.” She looked back at him, “It seems you need an experienced member of Inferno Squad to accompany you on that mission, and I happen to be available.”

Iden carefully began leading her to her room, wanting to get her comfortable before having to go searching for a room of her own, “You are welcome to stay with me until we find you a room,. It shouldn’t take too long, but I know sometimes they take their time. I can get you some clean clothes, and set the bed up for you if you’d like.”

Iden nodded a bit, “I heard what happened...I hadn’t seen Han in years, he likes going off with Chewy.” She gave her a small smile, “Let’s get you to a room, and maybe a shower.” She noticed all of the black smudges over her, her clothes especially, “I know the rebellion takes a lot out of you, so it’s nice to take some time to decompress.”

Iden could sense something was wrong, and her maternal instincts kicked in, “I can help with that, what is your name?” She reached her hand out to her, hoping she would open up to her, “My name is Iden...You just arrived here? I heard of some kind of Jedi coming to the Resistance, is that you?”

“Thank you,” She nodded, “I am excited. He told me about those bugs, dreadful creatures if you ask me. I suppose they were just protecting their home. Those artifacts, do you think there would be more on Korriban? I heard that is where the ancient Sith Academy is. That would be an adventure.”

Luke listened and he remembered some of the rare artifacts the Sith Lord had, “Thats a shame, he had a lot of priceless and interesting artifacts that would have been nice to see closer.” he replied to her as he thought about what he had seen in that secret bunker. “Yes, those bugs that we encountered would have been the end of us if we didnt have each other, I’m glad he took something good away from that planet.” He told her with a smile, it was good that she had someone with her that would look after his team, “Congratulations, I’m sure you both will be very happy.” he congratulated her happily.

Iden gave him a nod, getting ready to leave. Once Del took off, she went right after him. She made sure nothing was after them, and followed him back to the Resistance base.

Once they landed, she got out of her ship heading over to Del, “Maybe they’ll have a new mission for us.”

“Del..I’m just venting my anger,” Iden replied, “I’m sorry if I’m acting as if I’m alone in all of this. You’ve always been there for me, and I am grateful.” She got in, “If I lost you, I don’t know what I’d do..”

She grabbed her helmet, “Be careful getting back...Go first and I’ll have your back.”

Iden took a deep breath, “Del...This is a cause worth dying for to me. I had to repay what I’ve done to innocent people. Those rebels on Endor? We took them out with no hesitation. People who were fighting for their freedom in the galaxy, something we tried to take away.”

Iden turned to him, “We could have fought, we could have defended the lives of these people. Even if we died, we could have stood our ground. This crusade has been all a lie, and Vardos showed us that. This was just a reminder, another reason to keep fighting them.”

She looked away, everything boiling inside, “I was apart of this, allowing things like this to go on under my nose. The Empire never care, it just wanted power. My services allowed them to continue wreaking havoc on the galaxy.”

Iden closed her eyes for a moment, trying to calm down as she was enraged. These poor innocent people were slaughtered by the ones they looked to for protection. The Empire was corrupted, more than she ever thought before.

Her eyes opened, and she turned to Del, “Alright..” She headed off with him, hoping to get to their ships before the Empire found them
