Jon looked down, and despite the growing sense of desire in the pit of his gut, he was worried about Gabriel. It was nice to feel him so close. To feel his legs interlock and keep Jon right where he wanted him. But if the closeness came at the cost of Gabriel hurting himself, then how could he enjoy this? He seemed okay, though. Settled down in a spot that didnāt make him ache. Seeing Gabriel pretend to mull his question over briefly made Jon smirk before the other man started leaning in. Jon did the same, eager for another kiss. Eager to do anything, really. And he scoffed slightly at Gabrielās words, but nodded once. āWell, first Iād lay you on your back. Thatās probably the best position for you to be in, right now.ā Jon was seriously tempted to do just that, but he reeled himself back in. āAnd kiss you. Everywhere. Not just because you scared the hell out of me today, but youāre also seriously gorgeous, and kissing you is something I can do any day of the week.ā
Teeth digging into his bottom lip, he nodded to himself in a vain effort to seem like he was considering the option. Not that it didnāt sound niceāany other time heād be all for itābut given how he had settled himself close to Jon, he was happy. He took advantage of being able to run his hand through the otherās hair and the warmth of his body being so close. It would be a shame to ruin the moment by moving in any sort of way.

He moved his hand to rest against Jonās chest, drumming his fingers against his chest idly. Just to feel the firm body beneath his touch.Ā āI think that sounds amazing. However, I think I like being like this. I get to kiss you.ā A point his proved by leaning forward and doing just that.Ā āI get to touch you til Iām content. And I also get to look at that handsome face of yours. Hard to beat that, in my books.ā Another kiss was pressed to Jonā nose before he smiled.Ā āI donāt know what i would do if I couldnāt look at that face ever again.ā

therealjasonisaacs:Ā Iām working. A long way from home. Itās insanely sweaty. I canāt speak the language. I miss my family. Everything is concrete and right angles. But Iām driving this car 5 yards in a scene later so, just for an hour, Iāll be a delirious 12 year old. Theyāve literally just cut the car from the scene while I was typing this post. #StoryOfMyLife

Lorca was seriously messed up, and Jim felt more than a little responsible. It was obvious all the talk about Tarsus IV was dredging up memories the captain wished were long gone. Jim understood wanting to forget, and he couldnāt even imagine what Lorcaād seen. Most people assumed Jim had just been another of the hungry survivors. He tried to keep it on the downlow that he was one of the few people to see Kodos and had been there that night.
āWe need a change of subject, Captain,ā he offered with the weakest grin of his life. āIf we donāt, we need to go to another bar and get hammered.ā Kirk didnāt look away from Lorcaās face. He wasnāt speaking as a subordinate or a cadet. He was talking man to man with someone whoād also seen shit no one shouldāve seen. If Lorca wanted to talk, Jim would listen, but he wasnāt going to pry information out of the man.
āIām getting posted to the Farragut. Looking forward to that. Cadet cruises are fun, great learning experiences, but I canāt wait to be doing my jobā¦making my way to the center seat.ā There was no question in Jimās mind. Heād be a captain too someday, and heād bust ass to get there fast just like he did most things. āAre you shipping out again any time soon? Desk jobs must bore the hell out of you.ā
Gabriel shook his head as he forced a smile. Pretended to be more at ease with the joke of drinking away his memories than he was. With little left in his stomach, it was settling somewhat and that meant that he could force himself to relax despite the memories that went well beyond the massacre. He could swing things around again, maybe not be the together role model he pretended to be early on. Not when he was scratching at the tabletop with nail of his thumb to create some kind of calm. But he could at least manage something better than where things currently stood.
"I actually like being posted somewhere stable. Being in space for years at a time, away from a chance to have a nice life, aināt for everyone.ā Moving fingers toward the ring of moisture collecting on the table, he slid one through the water with a small smile.Ā āAfter awhile it gets lonely. Miss out on things you took for granted before. Not that I hate my job, but thereās something nice about being on solid land for more than a few days out of the year too. Regardless of how it ended, Tarsus was nice for that reason.ā

āBullshit, Gabriel. I know you, and thatās how I know you arenāt alright. It seems different this time. You seem different this time.ā She crossed her arms and tried to hide the fact that she was proud of keeping her cool. Even with her training, he knew how to push her buttons.
āAnd Iām here as your friend, not your therapist. You donāt have to say anything, I donāt have to say anything.ā Katrina stood up, unzipped her jacket, and pulled it off. She crossed over and stood between him and the machine.Ā āIād rather talk. Because you need someone to listen at least.
Fingers curling into a fist at his side, he narrowed his eyes at her. Remained tense as a wounded animal as she moved across the room to stand in front of him. Swallowing down a feeling he refused to analyze along with as much of his frustration as possible, he nodded slowly, thoughtfully.
āI seem different this time,ā he repeated with a scoff.Ā āPart of my crew were murdered. I watched four thousand people die on television, the same way the other half of the colonists because some psycho and his cronies feared a few, not a lot, maybe a hundred or so, would die waiting for help that arrived early. Nevermind the fact that I was supposed to be there with those other four thousand people that died. I--āĀ
His words came to a stop as the realization hit him. Not of the incident, but of how he had moved, invading Katrinaās space physically and with all the anger that wouldnāt go away. Backing far enough away so she couldnāt touch him, he pressed the palms of his hands to his eyes and rubbed at them violently. When they finally dropped back to his sides, he took a deep breath and shook his head.
āIf I wasnāt different, this time, then we would have a problem.ā
