truly nobody is doing it like donna noble. she tracked down the doctor herself so she could travel with him and proceeded to get in a massive fight with him that fundamentally changed both their worldviews on their first time time-travelling together. she’s the fastest typer in chiswick. she kept the doctor so in line that within like two episodes of her being gone he decided he was god-king of the universe. she kissed him and absolutely hated it. she’s unemployed. she demanded a salute and she got one and she DESERVED IT. she has her gay best friend from like twenty years ago living in a shed in her backyard and her husband is cool with this. i love her so so so much

Ozzy Osbourne’s death is like the death of a crusty white 3 legged no toothed dog in it’s mid 20s. It’s shocking and heartbreaking, but the shock mostly comes from the fact that it lived so long and through so much bodily strain that you kind of subconsciously assumed it was immortal.

steddie ficlet inspired by this post of mine
visiting eddie’s grave isn’t enough. steve can’t even cry anymore. the tears just won’t come.
the battered denim vest has become his second skin. he hardly ever washes it for fear it’ll stop smelling like eddie altogether.
when wayne offers him the van steve’s hesitant to accept it.
he doesn’t think he’s deserving of it—that janky old vehicle where eddie wrote his best music, smoked by the lake after school, kicked back after a stressful day, and kissed steve for the very first time under a worn sheet in the back.
after much deliberation, steve tells wayne he’ll take it off his hands. still feeling strange about it—still worrying for some reason that it’s not what eddie would have wanted.
but then he drives it around for the first time with no real destination in mind. he slips into the driver’s seat, fits his hands around the wheel, and suddenly he doesn’t feel so lonely anymore.
he’s surrounded by pieces of eddie—fragments of the boy he loved stuck in time: a flannel shirt on the passenger’s seat, a stick of his deodorant in the cup holder, cigarette butts littering the floor, black eyeliner rolling around on the dashboard, a stack of his favorite cassette tapes, and one of his silver rings which steve shakily fits onto his pinky before pulling out onto the road.
as he drives, he starts talking to eddie aloud. telling him stories, updating him on everything he’s missed, recounting their greatest hits. crying through it. laughing through it. allowing his heart to break right open and bleed between the cracks of this world and the next.
eventually, steve finds himself spending most of his nights in the back of the van laying on a pile of blankets listening to eddie’s music until he falls asleep. it’s more restful than the king mattress in his own bedroom. it’s the only place he can dream—the only place he can see eddie again behind his eyes.
and sometimes—sometimes steve swears he can hear eddie replying back to him in the early hours of the morning, calling out to him in the depths of his slumber, consoling him with a phantom-like grip on his arm as the tears fall…maybe it’s all in his head…
or maybe it isn’t.

this is your reminder to read the fic that has like 10 kudos! until someone gives it a chance, that’s where it will stay. the best shit you’ve never read is sitting on ao3 waiting for you to read it. kudos and bookmarks are awesome but they aren’t always indicative of something great.

Give me the Party taking Steve’s kindness for granted and Eddie getting so pissed off by this.
But it’s not like the kids are mean to him. They are not. They like Steve, love him, really, but teenagers hardly realize they are being dismissive and less than considerate to people who are doing things for them out of the goodness of their hearts and not because they have any kind of obligation to. And the Party are still teenagers so, yeah, being appreciative of other people’s kindness is not really their forte at the moment.
So Eddie watches Dustin bitch about how Steve is late to pick them up at school or at Hellfire. Watches Max complain that Steve didn’t buy her favorite snack for movie night, and Mike and Lucas barging into the man’s house, without even calling beforehand, to use his pool when it’s too hot, as if they own the place or something. And every time he sees this shit happening he gets so mad because Steve has no obligation to do any of that. He owes nothing to those brats. He does all that because he wants to, because he loves those kids so much, he does everything they ask him to without asking anything in return; not even a ‘thank you, Steve’.
And that’s exactly what Eddie tells them. He doesn’t yell at them, nor does he try to force them into doing anything. No, Eddie takes another rote; he makes them see, with a soft tone and the most disappointed look he can muster, how much Steve has been doing for all of them, whilst they have been treating him so dismissively.
(And it doesn’t even take Eddie much to make them realize what they are doing because they are good kids and they do love Steve. They’d never, ever hurt Steve’s feelings on purpose. They just happen to still be a little immature, even after literally saving the world.)
After Eddie’s pep talk, the Party makes sure to show their appreciation of Steve every chance they get. And Eddie will never forget Steve’s stunned face the first time Mike said ‘Thank you, man, appreciate it’ after Steve handed him his favorite candy bar during a movie night… just priceless.
