Dating App security is of the utmost importance, says study

According to a study conducted by India's own dating app, QuackQuack, security on dating apps is of the utmost importance. According to the findings, 67% of women prefer online dating to traditional dating due to the platform's strict security and safety measures. Ravi Mittal, the CEO and founder of the app, stated, "Security has always been one of the primary concerns when we think of dating, regardless of its mode." As a dating app with 20 million users, we adapt and improve our security measures as new dating trends emerge and develop over time. To track and suspend fake profiles, our app's moderators use parameters like User Information, IP City, IP Country, OS Information, and more." The app conducted a survey with 15,000 people from tier 1 and tier 2 cities to better understand their users' concerns about dating app safety and how they deal with them. Before meeting in person, 41% of these participants mentioned that going through a Virtual First Date is one of the best ways to address any concerns about a new match. It gives both users enough time to observe each other's behavior and look for any unusual demeanors, like aggression, being overly intrusive, or other obvious warning signs. Even better is if there is at least one picture of this person with friends and family, demonstrating that they have people to whom they can answer in the event that something unusual occurs. 43% of respondents expressed concerns regarding the development of reverse image search technology and the ease with which people can locate you on social media if you use the same display image across all of your accounts. These participants recommend using separate photos for dating profiles and social media handles to maintain anonymity during the initial stages of establishing a connection with another dater.

Dating Apps Oversharing 35% of participants between the ages of 26 and 30 believe that it can be harmful to overshare on dating profiles. These people say that they don't put their social media handles and contact information on their dating profiles so that they can safely navigate the world of online dating. Some platforms have been the subject of sporadic incidents involving the misuse of personal information; Therefore, you should wait until you have a sufficient understanding of your match before sharing details about yourself. Meeting IRL 48% of daters from level 1 and 2 urban communities, the majority of them working experts, noticed that prior to meeting your match face to face, try to impart your schedule for the day to somewhere around two of your dearest companions or confided in relatives. These individuals say that they have met their matches in public places. They usually have a virtual first date and evaluate their match's personality as thoroughly as possible from behind a screen for additional security. You won't have to worry about a stranger having your phone number in this way because you won't know them well enough to share it voluntarily. These participants also mentioned that using the app to communicate with your match provides an additional layer of security because you can report any inappropriate or obscene language. Even though dating apps make every effort to keep their users safe, the majority of participants agreed that when it comes to dating app safety, it's just as important for users to exercise caution and vigilance when entering the virtual dating world.
