Loki’s story ends beautifully and tragically. It feels poetic. Shakespearean.
We’re introduced to Loki as someone desperate for power and glory. We watch his many attempts to ascend to a throne and as they all fail, we see him realize he’s actually desperate for acceptance and love.
Now we leave Loki-at long last, sitting atop his throne, undoubtably the greatest power in existence. Except, it’s now a burden rather than glory. His journey of self-discovery and the relationships he built are simultaneously the only reason he’s able to achieve this position and the reason it pains him.
It’s not a happy ending. But, I think it’s a fitting end.

As a fan since 2011, I can now confidently say that Loki is literally, single-handedly, carrying the MCU on his shoulders.

Hung up on the fact that for ages all that Loki wanted was a throne, but then he finally found something he wanted more than a throne, his friends, and he had to leave them for a throne he never wanted in order to save their lives

OKAY BUT THE CALLBACK TO THE THE FIRST THOR MOVIE
Anyone remember the theme the first time we had a broken bridge and Loki? Death and destruction.
And now? Life and creation.
