For the person who asked in the interest check, according to Fanlore;

In fanfiction, a beta, or beta reader, is someone who looks over a story before the author posts it publicly, checking it for some combination of spelling, grammar, cohesiveness, flow, plot holes, characterization, etc.

If you’d like to alter your answer with this new information, you can send a DM or an ask with the changes you’d like and it will be noted on your response when it comes time to compiling everyone’s opinion.
