THE IMPORTANCE AND NATURE OF ICT

ICT, or Information Communication Technology, affects every aspect of our lives; it enables us to make our lives easier to live. It enhances our creativity and skills and helps us in identifying who we really are. Starting off, individuals attain information mostly with the use of ICT, such as smartphones, television, radio, laptops, desktop computers, and more technologies and software. It can be used as a storage wherein we can store data that we gathered. In communication, ICT disseminates information easily; also, how we reach out to our loved ones that are far from us through calls and messages that are more sufficient. Second of all, it gives us opportunities to learn and enhance ourselves, such as websites wherein we can find different things connected to our interests. Job opportunities due to the high population, which is hard to find a job in our society, especially when some workplaces in our community obtained high standards. With the help of ICT, we can find jobs online. The advantage of some online jobs is that individuals can work in their own places that apparently lessen their expenses, such as their fare. Third of all, it improves access to education. Due to the changes that we face, we normalise distance learning wherein students can access information through online websites such as DEPED TV and through Zoom. With the help of it, students can study on their own and learn things that they did not understand very well. Previously, as a STEM student, it enabled us to learn on our own; STEM is mostly interconnected in science and mathematics, which is a field that students find hard to learn. Watching through online websites helps us in improving our understanding of that specific lesson. Also, we are challenged to create research papers with high-quality outputs with the help of online websites; we can find reliable and credible information, such as Google Scholar; we can also check if it's AI-generated and correct our own mistakes. In summary, I can tell that it helps us grow and obtain such skills so that we can access information that we know is right and disseminate information that we know is reliable.
