(i sent this to your old wesker blog but only just saw you moved to here,sorry) In one of your posts about Wesker's views on gender and relationships, you mentioned he would parent a daughter quite differently to a son which I found interesting! Any more thoughts on how he would hypothetically be as a father?

OKAY  SO  DFJDFKDLF,  mentioned  a  bit  about  this  before  but  like  in  a  nutshell  Wesker  kiiidna  has  some  sort  of  out-dated  views  &  suffers  with  toxic  masculinity.  Despite  how  smart  Wesker  is,  these  are  just  facts.  He  was  raised  in  the  60s.  He’s  an  actual  fuckin  boomer  &  while  he  would  have  been  considered  progressive,  even,  I  dare  say,  feminist  in  his  own  time,  he’s  still  got  some  outdated  thoughts  &  behaviours. So,  yeah,  Wesker  would  be  a  lot  harder  on  a  son  &  more  demanding  of  them.  He  expects  them  to  succeed  in  life,  he  expects  them  to  BE  something.  For  a  woman,  or  a  daughter,  that's  just  a  fun  optional  extra,  not  a  requirement  or  expectation.   You  ever  seen  Sing  2 ?  Jimmy  Crystal  &  Porsha Crystal  would  basically  be  Wesker  with  a  daughter  on  so  many  levels.  She  would  be  the  most  spoiled  little  princess,  getting  everything  she  wanted  handed  to  her  the  only  string  attached  being  that  she  doesn’t  do  anything  to  get  in  the  way  of  dad’s  hustle.   But  thats  kinda  just  the  thing.  Like  Jimmy  &  Porsha,  a  lot  of  her  being  so  spoiled  by  daddy  was  just  because  he  wasn’t  that  interested  in  like  cultivating  her  as  a  person.  He  was  more  interested  in  himself,  his  image  &  his  job.  His  parenting  was  here  have  everything  you  want,  I  love  you,  but  I  expect  nothing  of  you  as  a  person.  This  could  easily  be  interpreted  as  Wesker  being  a  great  dad,  just  a  soft  guy  who  gives  his  little  girl  everything.  But  no  ... Its  not  really  that  ideal  given  its  kind  of  self  serving  in  the  end.  With   a  son  it  would  be  so  opposite  yet  so  the  same.  He’d  expect  so  much  more  &  put  more  interest  into  building  the  person  he  wants  them  to  be  but  less  through  like,  genuine  love  &  affection,  because  Wesker’s  an  emotionally  constipated  werido  at  the  end  of  the  day  in  both  situations,  more  through  strict  curfew  &  demands.  He  would  push  his  son  to  do  more,  study  harder,  strive  toward  success  as  a  person;  he’d  want  his  son  to  be  a  little  replica  of  him,  to  take  after  him,  because  in  all  situations  Wesker  is  highly  nepotistic.  The  whole  point  of  a  son  to  him  would  be  to  replace  him  if / when  the  time  comes.  Thats  the  guy  Wesker  is,  unfortunately.  I  mean  thats  the  theory,  anyway,  its  possible  that  the  practise  could  "change”  him  a  bit  & “improve”  some  of  his  behaviours  &  attitudes,  but  this  would  be  his  default  approach  in  the  idea  of  Wesker  having  kids  &  being  somehow  involved  in  raising  them  (not  recommended   though,  imo  SHFKKDF)

regarding wesker, i have an important question: why was he so upset to learn that he was manufactured by spencer? why did that revelation cause him to spiral out of control?

It  essentially  comes  down  to  his  entire  life  being  a  lie  &  the  fact  Wesker  always  functioned  under  the  belief  that  he  was  the  true  chess  master,  one  step  ahead,  the  guy  holding  the  cards.  To  discover  that  basically  every  single  part  of  his  life  including  his  birth  was  created  &  controlled  by  Spencer  did  some  shit  to  him,  not  to  mention  he  was  already  coming  to  learn  of  &  battle  some  adverse  effects  of  the  virus  in  his  body  &  always,  from  the  moment  of  his  “death”,  battled  with  his  loss  of  humanity  &  what  this  all  meant  for  him  in  the  long  run.  

I’m  kind  of  using  my  own  headcanons  as  reference  but  a  lot  of  Wesker’s  life  was  spent  very  carefully  trying  to  chess  master  himself  out  of  Umbrella’s  grasp  after  he  realised  something  wasn’t  right.  He  never  comprehended  how  wrong  it  actually  was  or  how  much  of  it  involved  him  personally.  Everything  Wesker  thought  he  knew,  everything  he  thought  he  had  achieved,  everything  he  had  lost  &  gained;  It  was  pretty  much  all  by  Spencer’s  design.  In  my  personal  headcanons,  Spencer  was  largely  responsible  for  X  day  &  the  instructions  Wesker  received  to  take  the  S.T.A.R.S  into  the  mansion  “to  gather  data”  for  the  Tyrant  Project.  Wesker  always  knew  something  was  wrong  with  this  but  he  believed  it  was  Umbrella  trying  to  get  rid  of  him.  He  didn’t  realise  it  was  more  than  that.  In  my  headcanon,  Spencer  orchestrated  this  to  force  Wesker  to  infect  himself  to  test  his  only  remaining  Wesker  child.  Wesker  thought  this  was  his  last  ditch  effort  to  escape  the  mansion  alive  suspecting  Umbrella  intended  to  back  stab  him,  especially  after  the  confrontation  with  Sergi.  He  was  right  &  discovered  he  had  been  locked  out  of  the  Umbrella  system  for  24  hours. 

I  DID  POST  A  WHOLE  HC  ABOUT  my  soft  “rewrite”  of  the  mansion  incident  but  thats  the  basics.  Further,  William  Birkin  gave  Wesker  the  virus  he  infected  himself  with.  Wesker  believed  this  to  be  the  G-virus,  the  miracle  drug  Birkin  had  been  working  on  for  years  hence  why  he  trusted  it.  In  RE5,  we  discover  that  Spencer  was  responsible  for  Birkin  giving  Wesker  the  virus.  (Its  verse  dependent  for  me  whether  or  not  the  virus  Birkin  gave  Wesker  was  the  G  virus  or  if  he  did  as  Spencer  wanted  &  gave  him  the  “prototype”   but  yeah  pretty  much  the  files  of  RE5  suggest  Birkin  was  extorted  into  giving  Wesker  a  virus  hence  why  Wesker  trusted  the  virus  he  was  given  to  the  extent  of  actually  using  it  on  himself) 

He  feels  a  mortifying  sense  of  betrayal  from  all  this.  Everything  Wesker  become  he  became  because  of  Spencer.  Everything  he  did  he  did  to  escape  only  for  it  to  be  Spencer’s  design  all  along.  His  trust  of  William  being  nothing  but  one  of  Spencer’s  manipulations.  His  loss  of  the  S.T.A.R.S,  his  loss  of  humanity  ect,  ect,  its  all  thanks  to  Spencer  &  there  was  NOTHING  he  could  have  done,  especially  at  that  point,  to  change  ANYTHING.  He  was  always  doing  exactly  what  Spencer  wanted.  Even  during  the  period  where  he  was  trying  to  co-opt  the  remains  of  Umrbella  &  monopolise  its  research  for  himself  &  his  own  organisation.  No  matter  what  Wesker  did,  it  was  always  what  Spencer  wanted  &  by  the  time  he  found  out  the  truth  of  this  there  was  no  way  for  him  to  change  it. .  

At  least  not  one  that  would  satisfy  his  own  ego  &  the  malicious  force  living  inside  of  him  that  had  rendered  him  nothing  more  than  a  husk  of  hatred  &  oblivion.  There  is  a  suggestion  that  Wesker  kind  of  did  try  to  push  back  against  Spencer  in  an  actual  meaningful  way  that  didn’t  mean  just  trying  to  put  his  own  personal  flavour  on  Spencer’s  madness.  But  Wesker  was  already  mad  himself.  It  seems  however  in  Wesker’s  more  ...  Normal  moments  he  was  heavily  researching  anti-viral  counter-measures.  His  research  was  very  important  &  VERY  effective.  After  its  recovery  upon  his  death,  Wesker’s  anti-virus  research  is  considered  invaluable  to  modern  day  anti-virus  organisations.  So  much  so  many  of  the  most  effective  anti-virus  weapons  &  tools  are  named  after  him.  They  claim  Wesker’s  anti-viral  research  was  so  important  it  single-handedly  redeemed  Umbrella.  SO  for  a  minute  there ?  Wesker  could  have  been  a  hero.  He  was  a  very  intelligent  &  bedevilled  man  but  he  was  rendered  a  monster.  He  represents  the  ouroboros;  the  snake  eating  its  own  tail,  a  vicious  cycle  of  hate,  ego  &  self-importance  that  he  had  no  ability  to   actually  escape,  even  though  there  is  a  suggestion  he  wanted  to.  He   is  creation  through  destruction,  &  in  the  end  that  destruction  had  to  be  his  own;  whether  at  the  hands  of  Chris  or  by  his  own  design  of  the  Uroboros  virus,  Wesker  was  never  suppose  to  “live”  to  see  whatever  future  he  would  create.  FHSDJFKDFJKD  but  yeah  I’m  here  rambling  now !  I  do  have  more  hcs  about  that  in  particular  on  Wesker’s  blog.  Thanks  for  sending  this  though !!  It  makes  me  v  happy  to  know  folks  are  interested  in  my  unhinged  thoughts  on  shitty  characters  like  Whiskers.

It  all  happened  within  an  instant.  The  guards  that  were  dragging  him  back  to  his  "room"  suddenly  fell  to  the  ground,  lying  on  the  floor  where  they  had  been  grappling  with  him  just  moments  earlier.  They  hardly  had  the  time  to  react  to  the  "intruder,"  &  Henry  wasn't  even  sure  he  had  seen  what  happened  to  them  to  take  them  down.  His  first  thought  was  to  raise  his  hands  in  a  show  of  surrender  toward  the  other  man,  not  wanting  to  suffer  the  same  "fate."  

But,  while  Henry  was  dressed  like  one  of  the  orderlies  of  the  facility,  he  certainly  wasn't,  which  is  why  they  were  dragging  him  around  as  they  had  been.  Or  perhaps  it  was  better  described  as  "roughly  escorting  him."  With  the  security  breach,  they  had  been  hoping  to  lock  him  away  until  they  could  "take  care"  of  it.  But,  of  course,  they  hadn't  intended  for  "it"  to  take  care  of  them.  

Lucky  he  was.  "Cute"  was  something  he  maybe  hadn't  considered, but  lucky,  yes  as  its  occurred  to  him  that  maybe  this  man,  maybe  he  could  help  him.  Maybe  they  could  help  each  other.  He  might  have  been  trying  that  luck  of  his,  but  what  did  he  really  have  to  lose ?  A  life  forever  trapped  in  this  place  as  a  tool,  a  slave  &  a  victim  was  nothing  short  of  unbearable.

victor has taken to climbing on wesker's shoulders, screeching gleefully. charlotte is fretting in the background, shouting at her brother to leave the poor man alone.

His  whole  body  becomes  stiff  with  this.  It  takes  every  ounce  of  him  not  to  grab  the  boy  &  throw  him  like  a  bizarre  animal  into  the  vast  yonder,  not  caring  how  or  where  he  landed.  But  here  in  this  strange  world,  Wesker  was  not  attempting  to  make  any  unnecessary  enemies.  Besides.  The  girl  had  been  ...  Amicable  enough.  He  felt  he  owed  her  some  sense  of  civility.  &  this  ...  boy  seemed  to  be  having  a  jolly  good  time.  So  jolly  he  couldn't  be  the  one  to  spoil  it,  could  he ?  

Muscles  tense,  he  turns  to  face  her,  his  discomforted  demeanour  halfway  like  a  cat  who  had  just  had  a  bucket  of  water  dumped  over  it  &  a  deer  who  had  been  frozen  in  headlights.

Going  a  little  mad  thinking  about  Henry  again:  What  Henry’s  time  at  the  lab  as  a  child  looked  like  (  I  mean  we  know  it  was  awful  but  I  wanna  know  about  the  actual  tests  n  stuff !)   &  how  they  got  that  chip  into  his  neck.  Was  it  always  there  as  a  precaution ?  Was  it  forced  on  him  after  an  “accident” ?  Was  he  tricked  into  having  it  implanted ?   Theres  so  many  ways  it  could  have  gone.  I  need  to  nail  down  some  headcanons  for  that  one.  I  have  some  thoughts  I’ll  post  eventually  but  yeah  djfkdf.  Also  thinking  about  the  actual  lab  massacre.  It  seems  pretty  straight  forward  as  in  “oh  surprise  hes  evil”  but  thats  not  my  read  from  it  honestly ?  As  someone  who  suffers  with  trauma  &  abuse  &  expereinces  some  of  “nasty”  side  effects  of  that  that  aren't  cute  or  quirky  &  don't  get  romantisized  when  people  talk  about  that  type  of  thing  it  hit  me  different.  Henry  leaves  Eleven  in  the  store  room  in  pretty  good  shape  but  when  we  see  him  again  not  only  has  he  killed  at  least  20  people  he’s  also  like. . .  Completely  unhinged.  Mans  in  the  throws  of  a  total  psychotic  break  down  by  the  vibe  of  it.  The  difference  between  the  Henry  that  left  Eleven  in  the  storeroom  &  the  Henry  found  in  the  rainbow  room  is  night  &  day.  &  hes  seriously anything  but  clam  &  collected  -  he  doesn’t  have  an  “everything  is  going  to  plan  &  I  know  exactly  what  I’m  doing”  vibe  to  him.  He  quickly  transitions  from  eerily  dark  &  haunted  to  something  kind  of  manic.  Fear,  anger,  sadness,  instability,  the  whole  lot  as  he  starts  to  “explain”  himself  to  Eleven  who  is  understandably  terrified  because  ITS  A  LOT  GOING  ON.  I  feel  like  given  the  dead  guards  &  orderlies  Eleven  finds  on  her  way  to  Henry  they  probably  tried  to  apprehend  him  &  he  just  went  nuclear.  It  feels  to  make  sense  given  Henry  only  knows  how  to  wield  his  powers  through  negative  emotions  like  sadness  &  rage  &  those  are  some  very  intoxicating  emotions,  particularly  when  you  have  countless  years  of  trauma  to  back  it  all  up  &  you’re  in  an  already  stressful  /  complicated  situation  where  you  feel  like  its  do  or  die.  That  fight  response  kicking  into  overdrive  &  just  becoming  a  little  bit  out  of  touch  with  reality  &  like  self-preservation  being  the  only  thing  that  matters  in  that  moment,  regardless  of  “right” / wrong  or  “excess”,  just  the  need  to  “neutralize”  all  possible  “threats.”  What  I’m  saying  is ... Its  the  trauma.
