As we approach college finals in the U.S. I feel it's important to remind people that no level of school failure is worth killing yourself over. Some failures have consequences. Some failures change the course of your life. But I promise it's not over.

If a career path you wanted to follow has closed because of your grades, it's ok to mourn. It's normal to be upset that goals you had are unattainable now, especially goals you've had for a long time. But you can recover. Even if you can't try again, you can find another path that's fulfilling.

If you want to keep forging down the path of academics, I'm rooting for you. Take the time you need to rest your brain. Remember that taking a semester, a year, or a few years off is normal and often healthy. Do what you need to face the next semester you take relaxed and ready.

If you've been bashing your head against the wall that is college and can't seem to make progress, it might be time to find a different path. No matter what people in your life are telling you, not getting a college education is not the end of the world. No one's approval is worth more than your life.

Every day dropouts and D students are living a life more beautiful than you could ever imagine. No amount of academic failure can take away the joy of being alive. If you're not feeling that joy right now, that's ok, but please hold on through this difficult time in your life. Things will get better.

This is specifically geared towards college students but definitely applies to anyone younger than that as well. This is not the end.

"why should I get invested in shows if they'll just get canceled" I was deeply invested in Heroes (2006) and it was not canceled, it just got really terrible. I also got really invested in the sandwich I had a few weeks ago despite it only lasting like 15 minutes. You must embrace the ephemeral. You must be willing to love things that may not love you back, that might betray you, or that may die an untimely death. As the great philosopher Mr. Mitchell Lee Hedberg said "I'm not gonna stop doing something because of what happens at the end."

I really don't know what the hell its going on the film industry but seriouslly WHATTT? The Oscars have always been something to complain about because injustice as well as Oscarbaits have been a thing since years ago but I can't shake the fact that Emília Perez was nominated when Dev Patel directed, coreographed, wrote and acted in his first movie-which was an amazing subversive action film in every possible way, shaping foward a genere that felt dead and overused-and he didn't get A SINGLE NOMINEE? Like, are you kidding me? Yeah seeing a out-of-the-box horror film like The Substance being selected was beautiful, specially being a Coralie Fargeat fan since Revenge that was really frustrated she didn't get the deserved recognition back then. But I can't help but feel like they need more openess to those generes. Because they rarely do so! I mean why isn't Naomi Scott on the best actress category? And why isn't The first Omen nominated for special effects and cinematography?

With that said, I know it could be worse (they could have nominated Megalópolis, thanks God they didn't) and that the industry is already fucked up in every possible way shape and form but idk this time it got really weird honestelly.
