hi!

in case it isn't blindingly obvious by my lack of writing recently, I'm a little burnt out, and combined with the fact that I'm moving soon, I'm officially putting this blog on low activity.

Meaning: I won't be reblogging memes, or writing threads, but may pop in occasionally to do commentary posts or pester my friends with asks. Overall, the major theme is I'm removing any pressure / expectation on myself to do anything, which I hope will help alleviate the burn out, since a lot of it is coming from work, and while I love writing, putting that internal pressure on myself is going to broken instant pot explode.

a small obsession i have wrt the music duo concept for eden and tsu is like. the idea of fandom, and this is because i basically grew up in bandoms on myspace and tumblr and you CANNOT convince me there aren't fan accounts for the splatbands. so, by proxy, there are absolutely fan accounts for 8ANN3D CAMP

In the eight years between arriving on the surface and that fateful fight, Naomi could count the number of newcomers to the surface on four hands, at most. Then, by the end of 2015, it was a veritable flood of people finding new homes, nestled in mountain towns and out in the desert and on her block. Agent 3 was but a small part in that process. Just another operative, protecting groups as they moved between safehouses and through abandoned sectors.  Agent 3 is also a symbol, a sidewalk bloom that refused to be trampled underfoot. Half Octarian diligence, half Inkadian freedom. Living, breathing, dancing proof that a life on the surface could be prodigious, productive, and most of all: peaceful. Any barrier she’d faced on the surface was only more emblematic, so long as she smashed through it. They would thrive, no matter the cost. So, y’know. No pressure, or anything!

Naomi's face, for what it was worth, is drawn into a straight line.

Shaking hands share her secrets, like a mask shredded. Her knuckles are white from her tight grip, and her eyes are trained downwards, away from the window. It was.... a bad combination. Heavy rain battered the windows, hitting strikes of droplets against the fire escape; her room was lit by taper candles, the box fan whirring by the grace of a generator.

Flood waters destroyed her first home, it was only natural to panic about the second. It's just panic though, she tells herself. The power would come back on soon, the storm will roll through, and unlike the deteriorating dome, Inkopolis had real drains.

Madoka's hand rests on hers, and Naomi squeezes back gently. " Thank you. " Her voice is soft, and she reaches one tentacle over to wrap around Madoka's forearm - it was considered kind, friendly, to the Octarian raised girl. Naomi comments, " Just a bad day for rain. "

A very funny thing that has emerged from me adding the Musical Duo plot to Eden and Naomi is that it makes the NSS ( in my canon ) just. entirely musicians who also have a secret agent identity. the joke gets funnier in any context to me too like.
