Savings accounts - health insurance, its all good son.
13 posts
Whats up my online crew! I've been meaning to start a tumblr blog for months and uk health insurance finally gave me the kick up the butt I needed. We got chatting at a health insurance conference about health insurance and how so many young peeps just don't have even average personal finance skills so I thought f it it and going to create a blog about finance. I'll be covering everything from health insurance to life insurance. Anything that is finance related i'll be talking about. Even things like how to use credit cards without getting into loads of debt. When that money is working for you because you've made calculated wise investments with it you feel like such a boss man.

I don't mean to imply that I have found God in money burning. Actually, what I found there is NOTHING. But somehow I've come to understand, appreciate, gain an awareness of - none of these terms describe the experience properly - that NOTHING is sacred that to create NOTHING from something, to put NOTHING into a university is made of things, is a sacred action, in and of itself. - Jonathan Harris

So I got to thinking that perhaps that’s what money is: a crystallization—or, rather, a homogenization—of time and free will into those things we call dollars and pounds and yen and euros. Money multiplies your time. It also expands your agency and broadens the number of things you can do accordingly. Big-time lottery winners haven’t won ten million dollars—they’ve won ten thousand person-years of time to do pretty much anything they want anywhere on Earth. Windfalls are like the crystal meth version of time and free will. - Douglas Coupland

THIS SCENE WAS REPEATED IN every previously uninhabited nook, elbow, spit, lot, and underpass throughout the foreclosed and abandoned suburbs and exurbs and trailer parks of America, now squatted by the millions who had walked out on mortgages, been foreclosed upon, or simply could no longer afford a fixed address. They were all lumped together by the media into a category called 'subprimes,' a less descriptive label, perhaps, than 'homeless,' but one that in this era of raw, rapacious capitalism gave all the information anyone needed: the credit rating of the men, women, and children who inhabited these Ryanvilles was subprime. - Karl Taro Greenfeld

Money? It’s the oh-so-simple miracle that allows you to take home veal in your shopping bag…’, the Trader-Knights repeat, forgetting that behind the head of veal or the pork cutlet there is a futures market in livestock and pork bellies, and that behind that market looms the futures market of exchange rates, interest rates and so many other levels all the way down to absolute volatility, all utterly inaccessible to those bit-part players in the great comedy of trading, the small individual shareholders. - Gilles Châtelet
