Roleplay Event Announcement
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Details
Three years is but a blink of an eye for most of the longer lived races. We have settled into a beautiful state of peace free of the wars that have plagued our people for far too long. So much was lost and the heartbreak made so many numb to the cascade of tragedies that befell Azeroth. Now that we are able to breathe a little easier, there are those who wish to honor the great gift that was given to our people. Hope for a new beginning for the Kaldorei. Join us in celebrating the life of those we lost, and in honoring those brave souls who endured the Maw and then sacrificed their eternal peace in Ardenweald to fuel a seed of hope for our people.
Time: 7:00 PM CST, February 5th
Location: The Shady Sanctuary, Ohn’ahran Plains, Dragon Isles Anchors: Ollimos - MG, Shalíene - MG, Shirayà - MG
Community Feast This event will start off with a casual community feast. We encourage participants to bring their favorite food and/or drink to add to the menu and share with those who gather. This part of the evening is purely social, meant for mingling, eating, drinking, and enjoying the company of friends, both new and old.
Wrestling Matches
What better way to work off a big meal than to enjoy feats of strength and endurance? Sign ups will be open to participate in a series of wrestling matches. This is a bracketed brawl, so spots will be limited. Please contact <Shaliene> for more information and to join the roster! Prize: 20k in-game gold. (Must be MG to accept winnings.)
Archery Tournament Feats of strength and endurance? Now we have feats of arms and precision! For all the marksman, hunters, rangers, bowmen, Sentinels, and more! Not looking to do hand to hand? Better at ranged attacks? This is the activity for you. Sign ups are open. Please contact anchors to add your name to the competitor's roster. Prize: 20k in-game gold. (Must be MG to accept winnings.)
Lantern Vigil A bittersweet and beautiful end to the evening. Join your fellow participants in a short walk to an overlook. There we will light paper lanterns and send them into the night sky, honoring the fallen and all those we lost. Lanterns and Inky Black Potions will be provided by the hosts so that all can participate.
This event is a Kaldorei roleplay event. While allies are welcome, because of what we are celebrating, we are asking for Alliance participation only.

Stitches & Bitches

Mac started to wrap her handiwork, covering Sam’s eye in the process as requested. As she worked, there was a small chuckle of amusement. “It is almond oil, peacebloom root, silverleaf, dried tel’abim banana leaf, mageroyal, bruiseweed, rosemary, and beeswax.” She paused a moment to tuck the bandages in place. Slowly, she removed her hand. “Very common plants which makes the recipe preferred over those new ones. I don’t need to crawl and claw my way across naga infested craters. I can go for a walk in Elwynn and find what I need. Does the same thing, only I don’t have to risk life and limb.”
Mac started setting a few items aside. There were clean rolls of bandages, a tin of salve, and a business card. “The stitches are treated catgut.” She eyed her patient, waiting for the anticipated complaint. “They are strong as wire but dissolve after two weeks or so. I still suggest seeking me out around that time. Best to check you over and see if your foot is fully functional.” She pointed down.
Though her work had been subtle, taking place while Sam was distracted by the stitches above her eye, Mac had seen the healing process along. While Sam’s foot was by no means good as new, she no longer had a rough hewn hole through it. Bone and flesh alike had been knitted back together, leaving the appendage tender but usable.
“Try and see how it feels with a little weight on it.” Mac offered a hand, ready to give the lass support as needed once she got to her feet.

As Mac resumed her efforts in closing up Sam’s wound, her bright hazel eyes flashed a luminous amber color. There was a slight smirk that touched her lips, but no real verbal answer at first. It took several moments of silence before her voice sounded. “I don’t hide it but I don’t usually advertise it either. As for the scent? I was a wolf long before I was a worgen. My sense of smell was alway a little too keen. Smelling, even faintly, like a worgen doesn’t agree with me. So I don’t.” She smiled. “I prefer to just smell like the forest after it’s rained. That and my obsession with my bathtub and seldom used shifting habit has robbed me of the markers wolves usually detect.”
Finishing up the last series of stitches, Mac hummed with amusement over the vodka comment. “I learned long ago not to make promises like that. You’ll just have to grit your teeth with anticipation, wondering if it’ll be used or not.” She teased. As the final stitch was completed, knot and all, Mac held the needle between her knuckles on the hand that was providing the numbness. Small scissors were produced, a little snip sound as the thread was cut.
“A little salve, I think.” As the scissors were set aside, a small tin was lifted up. Mac removed her hand as she was smearing a dollop over her work. There was a momentary throb but then a cool tingling sensation as she applied the goop.
“That’ll soothe some of the ache and swelling and…” She raised up a roll of bandages. “Keep the cloth from sticking to anything healing.”

With her hands clean, she started organizing her instruments, keeping them sterile and applying a bit of disinfectant salve when needed. When everything was to her liking, she picked up a clean towel and dipped a corner in the warm water basin the barmaid brought out.
She paused, only for a moment, giving Sam a quick silent warning before she started cleaning some of the blood away. Nothing too close to the gash, so it wasn’t time for pain just yet.
“Mm. I carry my own whiskey, love. The Gilnean stuff here was something I arranged with the owner after I punched one of his barkeeps. Was an unnecessary arrangement but one that will keep me a fairly loyal customer.“
Mac was quick to clean the outskirts of the wound, most would call it efficient. The remark about her wanting more brought a smirk to her lips but for once a filthy comment didn’t follow.
“Okay, love.” She turned the towel to the dry side, positioning it carefully so that the thick cloth protected Sam’s eye but left the wound above uncovered. “Like ripping off a bandage.” Mac explained as she got the glass of vodka.
Placing a hand on Sam’s forehead as she began to pour made one thing damn obvious.
Mac was a fucking liar.
The moment her hand pressed against Sam’s head, there was a gentle warmth that began to spread through the woman. The promised sting, was really just a cool trickle. Mac even went so far as to dab the wound with a towel, which should have hurt like hell. Instead, it was just a light pressure.
All was well in the world until Mac’s hand slipped away. All the promised pain came flooding forward as she went to clean her hands once more and ready the hooked needle in the suture kit.
“Change your mind about the pampering comment, love?” She smirked. “By the way, this would be a perfect time to call me names. Points if you’re more original than just calling me a bitch.“

The comment Sam made insinuating a knee to the groin, or perhaps surprise castration made Mac laugh softly. She couldn't say part of her hadn't considered those options. She didn't say as much, however, her laugh the only response.
With the mention of a bandana, Mac took on a gentle teaching tone. "You'll want to make sure a clean bandage is between your skin and any eye covering. Infection, although rare for our kind, can still happen. With the location, if it spreads, it could rob you of your sight, love. So be careful with the bandana and make sure to leave it uncovered often. The air helps."
Mac was halfway through her work when she went reaching for a towel, wanting to re-learn the top of the wound. In the numbness, Sam mistook that for a job well done and started moving, taking a few gulps of whiskey. To avoid sticking the lass in the eye or worse, Mac's fingertips hovered just above her patient.
"Not done just yet. Smaller stitches take a little more time." After the groan Sam made, Mac waited a moment, letting the woman settle a bit before she started again. Sam might have noticed her foot didn't feel as gods awful as it had. The ruined flesh and any bone that had been damaged were well on their way to being mended, mostly. If anything, the damn thing would itch. The joys of healing.
"No stitches for any of the scratches. They'll just be the usual annoyance. I will give you some salve though. Good for cleaning those biffs and even lessening some bruises. It'll be good to put over your eye here too. Cleans, numbs a tiny bit, and helps the healing."
"As for a bed? I think there are rooms upstairs? I wouldn't chance it though. If you can make it to the Trade District, The Gilded Rose will give you a room. I'll send you with a card or three of mine. Give one to the innkeeper and she'll take care of you. I delivered her sister's child. Rough birth. Saved both mother and child, so she pays it forward."

With the compliment in the air, Mac smirked, the expression lingering as she worked. "He swears it was a joke. I'm not so sure. Apologies were made, though. So what can you do?" Her smirk turned to small smile, though her bright eyes didn't reflect it, her gaze honed onto each stitch she made.
Sam likely felt a tugging sensation as Mac worked, each time it surfaced was another small stitch sewing her wound closed. "It'll be little swollen for a few days. Stiff, really." She spoke of the aftermath. "Shouldn't impede you opening your eye too much. Unless you walk around all wide eyed twenty four seven." She teased.
Mac's touch seemed to spread, that numbing warmth pulsing from head to toe. Sam might not have realized, but as Mac stitched up her face, she was using a different approach on Sam's foot. Her gift knit bone and flesh alike, starting the healing process so that she wouldn't be hobbled for weeks or more. She would still need to take it easy, but it was a jump start to the usually long healing process.
"I suppose I should have warned you. I sort of did. Said my bedside manner sucked." She smiled. "That translates into me healing you my way. That full pain you are joking about? If you were an ass, maybe. Well, probably. But this wasn't your fault. You shouldn't have to suffer over it more than have already."

As she readied everything for the actual stitches, she smirked at the question involving the punched barkeep. "The nice versions that he called me ordinary. I didn't take kindly to his opinion on the ordinary pool of people he used as an example."
With everything prepared, she went to start the process of stitching up the facial wound, pausing when more questions came forth. There was also the expected moaning and groaning, so Mac held steady to wait for it to pass, mostly.
"They will throb after. You'll feel rather abused and sore. My touch will take the sting and pain away while I stitch. Trust me. It's the nice version. I temporarily paralyze the idiots while they feel everything. Teaches them a little caution. I suppose I can make an effort to turn it off as I work. Give you the full fledged pain experience." She offered teasingly.
Even though she had offered, the moment she reached out and started her work, that gentle warmth began to spread the moment Mac's fingertips came into contact with Sam's skin. As Mac pinched the gash together, all Sam should feel was a little pressure or tightness across her brow. When the stitches started, a tugging sensation would be present rather than the puncture of the needle.
"I'm going to make these as small as possible. Minimal scarring that way. Not saying you won't have a scar. It just won't be one that intimidates small children and weak men." She smiled, joking as she worked.
