You can really tell that Tomari is the person Ruka is the most affectionate towards. Naturally, Ruka is upbeat and outgoing around people but whenever she is alone with Tomari, it's a different story. Those two have been best friends for such a long time that not only she feels comfortable confiding with Tomari but also feels comfortable enough to display physical affection towards Tomari but only when the two are together alone. Ruka can feel like herself and be weird and silly around Tomari without being judged because Tomari compliments her whimsy. Hence why Ruka is so particularly close to her.

Also the way Ruka said "Tomarin! Aishiteru!" LKE HER LESBIANISM IS SHOWING.

One day, we need to have a serious conversation on how Nao has got to be one of the most fumbled female leads in cardfight vanguard history and how she got stripped of her own agency just to be watered down and relegated to a mere accessory for the main protagonist.

Oh my god the new divinez episode has fulfilled everything I want as a Megumi fangirl! Little to no personal stakes but still a very fun episode! This episode really showcased Megumi's growth throughout this series and I'm so glad to see her character get redeemed after getting stagnant writing in the past, especially during will+Dress. Blackout will always be a very important part of her! And I'm so relieved to know that she still looks to Danji but has detached from him enough to walk her own path. She even finally has her own style! From that very short scene, they seem like actual friends now. The fact that this episode, which is technically divinez s4 ep 5, aired 2 years after will+Dress s3 ep 5 aka the Magnolia Masque debut episode, which I consider the worst/weakest Megumi focus episode, is insane to me. The difference in writing between these two episodes is night and day.

I don't care that she lost. She finally got a proper character turn around and I'm more than satisfied with that!
