even though he doesn’t show it, gilfoyle is thrilled that you agreed to go a satanic gathering with him

especially because you’re so unfamiliar with satanism (you know, besides the false assumption that they’re all devil worshipers) , he’s really appreciative that you were so open with the idea

before attending the meeting, you made sure to do lots and lots of research! mostly looking over its history on wikipedia, but it was very informative

the nine satanic tenets interested you greatly, and you found yourself surprised that you sort of agreed with most of them

while the two of you were snuggling in bed, you had your phone out, scrolling through them and humming

and gilfoyle cracked a smile (surprising, yes)

when the day came, you weren’t really sure what the appropriate attire was, so you just wore all black

you interlocked your fingers with his as you took your seats, suddenly nervous for no particular reason)

gilfoyle notices and rests his hand on your inner thigh, giving it a firm squeeze

he’s reassuring you in his own way

throughout the gathering, which was a bit bizarre, he’d side eye you every minute or so to see how you’re doing and if you’re responding positively

overall the experience wasn’t too bad, especially with gilfoyle next to you

after it’s over, he takes you home and presses a chaste kiss on your lips

“thanks for coming... not a lot of people really get the whole satanism thing”

“it’s no problem, it was pretty fun and it’s cool to learn new things! i’d be happy to come again”

uncharacteristically, he smiles once again before nodding and bidding you a good night

one day on your way to school, sweet in one hand and your bag in the other, you’d noticed a boy around your age crouched on the ground

the first thing you’d noted was his stench

but once you’d gotten past that, you’d noticed he had hollow cheeks and chapped lips, as well as a... dog? perched on his lap

“um,” you mutter, voice muffled by the food stored in your mouth, “do ya want the rest of my melonpan? it kinda has my saliva on it, though...”

expecting a look of disgust and a middle finger (because, y’know, homeless people have standards too) you’re surprised by the eager nodding of the boy.

you smile, reaching down to hand him your leftovers, to which he immediately grabs and savors

he hums (and blushes????)

before he has the chance to thank you, you’re hopping on your bike and waving as you fade from his view

“man,” he whispered under his breath, face flushed red. “my first indirect kiss! and it was a total hottie too...”

after that encounter, you’d occasionally drop by. you’d even become friends! sort of...

with a plastic swinging on the handles of your bicycle, you offer a grin as denji (he’d told you his name during your second encounter a week later) came into view

“today we have tamagoyaki and rice, made it myself, and some canned coffee to keep your energy up. you’re welcome!”

denji, from his position on the floor, looks up at you in a daze. life couldn’t be anymore perfect for him. a cute girl was making him food. and she was wearing a cute uniform... was this heaven?

“i was starvin’!” he cries, grasping the bag and removing its contents. you snort, setting your bike on the ground before taking a seat beside him.

watching denji eat was amusing, he always tore through everything in less that a minute!

“so when’s your next job?” you commented, trying to fill the silence.

“dunno. just finished one up earlier today, so probably not until later.”

you hummed in understanding, watching him devour his meal as if it was his last.

“s’good,” denji compliments, a satisfied smile gracing his cracked lips.

“thanks, got any requests for next time?”

he pauses, licking the surface area of his mouth. “hm, some cake would be nice!”

“cake? y’sure?” you question, eyebrows knitting together. sure, cake was good, but if it were your only meal of the day you would’ve surely thrown up.

“yeah, i’ve never had it before...”

you hum, slotting your chin over your knees. denji was funny and didn’t really care about many things, so it was easy to forget his situation. you didn’t like to dwell on it too much, it made you sad.

next time you saw him, you’d make him some nice strawberry shortcake. the thought made you smile, imagining his own grin when you’d present him with it.

as you’re staring at the floor, lost in your thoughts, denji watches you carefully. your about his age, if not a year younger. you’re pretty, too. real pretty. your features are soft, yet distinct. he doesn’t know what he likes the most about you, though his first thought is your chest, for some reason he’s always drawn to your eyes. theyre nothing special, he’s probably seen the shape and color about a thousand times in his life, but when they fall upon him his heart stars beating against his chest and he feels all hot and tingly.

“hey,” he scratches at the nape of his beck, eyes cast downward. “do you, uh, do you have a boyfriend?”

(internally, your screaming, wondering where the hell that came from.)

your lip quirked at the sudden question as you rested your chin at the palm of your hand. denji’s cheeks were dusted pink as he continued avoiding your gaze.

“why? gonna ask me out?”

“h-huh? i wasn’t, i mean—”

“just messing with you, denji.” for some reason, you always emphasized his name when you said it. “but to answer your question, no. i don’t have a boyfriend.”

“oh. that’s cool.”

“very cool indeed.”

the third silence of the day ensues, before you look at your watch and notice the time.

“shit, i gotta head to school now. good luck with your devil huntin’.”

“u-uh, yeah, thanks.”

you offer a smile and a firm pat to his head.

when kashima doesn’t make an effort to leave, it suddenly dawns on you that your shyness could be interpreted as rudeness, so for good measure you briefly make eye contact and offer a small smile. “good luck with the play, kashima-san. do your best!”

and just like that, her heart began to race. your shy smile and words of encouragement, devoid of any ulterior motives, is enough for her (or anyone, really) to fall for you.

of course, she’d never tell you that. so she settles in confiding in her senpai.

“hori-senpai, i think i’m in love.”

“i don’t care, leave me alone.”

it takes a whole month for her to speak to you again, and another two for her to ask you out. you say yes, giving her the same shy smile and brief eye contact.

the first few weeks of the relationship are painfully awkward. kashima seems comfortable enough—she holds your hand in between periods, eats with you at lunch, kisses your cheek when parting, and walks you home after school. she’s the perfect girlfriend, really. but you’re so introverted that you naturally shy away from any attention.

also, you still call her kashima-san. even after dating for a whole month.

hori already knows you, obviously, and likes you a lot (you’re polite and reliable, the exact opposite of your girlfriend). mikorin thinks your cute and nice, and playfully flirts with you to get a rise out of kashima. nozaki likes you because you’re quiet like him, and the two of you can comfortably enjoy silence together. and chiyo ADORES you, and you adore her. you two confide in eachother about anything and everything, quickly becoming fast friends.

kashima loves how well you fit in with them, being worried at first because of your shyness. surprisingly it wasn’t a problem, but what was a problem was PDA.

whenever she shows you an ounce of affection, the entire female population is watching you intently, as if they were about to jump you at any moment. not only was it frightening, but the amount of attention was enough to make you want to disappear.

though PDA makes you embarrassed, you’re much more receptive to her touch when you’re alone. when it’s just the two of you at her house, sometimes you’d absentmindedly reach out your hand first when watching tv.

or you’d lay your head on her lap and forcefully place her hand on your hair, as if you were silently ordering her to pet it.

(and sometimes, when you’re feeling bold, you’d kiss her long and slow, leaving her a blushing mess.)

she likes the times when the two of you are alone.

HOWEVER, there is a time when she prefers the two of you being out in public😏 that’s when people are flirting with her

she loves making a big deal out of it😭 brushing off whatever girl is trying to get her attention and politely saying, “i’m sorry, i have a GIRLFRIEND. an extremely beautiful GIRLFRIEND whom i love very much. oh, there she is, my GIRLFRIEND. i’m sorry i have to cut this short, i’ll be joining my GIRLFRIEND now.”
